Proposal to Solution of Partial Unemployment

This bachelor work deals with questions of partial unemployment, which is nowadays getting more common in a lot of companies. It deals with the process of job orders decrease at the employer, solution possibilities and duties related to this. Furthermore, it contains suggestions to solving the situation of employee redundance when there is an excessive decrease of job orders at a specific employer, who experiences limited demand for the services he provides (so-called partial unemployment).

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of employment termination. It presents a proposal of an employees’ contract termination solution designed for an employer who is relocating one of their production programs to another country, as decided by their top management. The aim is to make use of all legal methods of employment termination, to minimize related costs, and to make the effort to support the employees whose employment has been terminated.
Transfer of undertaking and collective dismissals in a European perspective

In her PhD thesis, the author deals with the legal regulation of transfer of undertaking (and the passage of the employees' rights and obligations it involves) and the frequent collective redundancy related to such transfers. Both sets of provisions dealing with these topics are embodied in the Czech Labour Code and are harmonised with the EU directives pertaining to these fields, specifically Council Directive 2001/23/EC of 12 March 2001 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the safeguarding of employees' rights in the event of transfers of undertakings, businesses or parts of undertakings or businesses (originally, Council Directive 77/187/EEC of 14 February 1977 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the safeguarding of employees' rights in the event of transfers of undertakings, businesses or parts of businesses) and Council Directive 98/59/EC of 20 July 1998 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to collective redundancies. The two directives mentioned above were already transposed to the Czech Labour Code in 2001 by means of an amendment adopted under No. 155/2001 Coll. Legal and economic aspects of termination

This thesis focuses on the institute termination of employment from the legal and economic point of view. From a legal perspective, it is mainly about the presentation of the most common ways of termination of employment, including acquainting the reader with a steady legal interpretation. From a microeconomic point of view, the termination of employment relates to the consequences for employers and employees and from a macroeconomic perspective, with consequences for the whole society. This is followed by a practical part which connects the foregoing and the current example of OKD Inc., which employs nearly 10 thousand employees and currently finds itself in serious financial difficulties, the state estimates the costs associated with the mass redundancies at different alternatives. These variants are bankruptcy or reorganization provided financial assistance to the state. At the conclusion of the two calculations are compared and outlines a list of partial measures to mitigate the effects of similar events in the future.

Claims and Duties of Employers vis-a-vis the Labour Office

This bachelor thesis is focused on description of the most essential and the most important claims and duties of employer vis-a-vis the Labour Office. The attention is paid especially to people with health handicap and foreigners, job intervention and vacancies report. In the work there are described partial unemployment, employer's insolvency and its duties vis-a-vis the Labour Office and collective redundancies. The practical part of thesis is focused on searching of the concrete statistical data, their matching under development and trend appreciation.

The thesis is focused on introduction outplacement as one of the helpful instrument for company reducing its staff and characteristic important benefits for consumers. This knowledge was used as background for estimation and analysis of the outplacement program by the help of the empirical research and compared with a similar outplacement program in other company. The Questionnaire survey as part of my thesis was completed by former employees. Based on the results of the research and analysis I made the recommendations, whose aim is to be instructed other outplacement projects.
