This bachelor's thesis deals with water turbines, their regulation and control. The thesis provides a basic theoretical description of fluid flow. It also provides an introduction to the issue of hydro turbines and power plants, their classification and description of the regulation mechanisms of Kaplan, Francis and Pelton turbines. The thesis explains why, when and how turbines are regulated. The last chapter deals with governors and control. The thesis also includes the construction of a simple control model.

Goal of this dissertation is design of rotary reduction for entered input parameters that it is connected in parallel with reducing station. Further I´m looking into thermodynamic calculation of stage and chosen parts of turbine, making of project design of connection of rotary reduction to steam circulation. Dissertation is concluded by designed cross-section of turbine.

Design of controlled drive for parallactic mounting

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is exploration of facts about drives for parallactic mounting and its design with microprocessor control. In the thesis there is also described the tandem governor and the nonlinear position computing method. One part of this thesis is the complete scheme of mounting electronics, computing and measuring differences between real and theoretic position. The last part of the thesis focuses on the specification of other possible problems, which can bring inaccuracy into taking pictures.

The Subjects and their Governor. Manors Točník, Zbiroh and Králův Dvůr under the Authority of Samuel Ignatius de Bois (1670-1690) Abstract The diploma thesis focuses on the relationship between subjects and lordship, which in this case is represented by governor Samuel Ignatio de Bois. He administered the dominions Točník, Zbiroh and Králův Dvůr from 1670 until his death in 1690. During the two decades of his administration, a lot of archival material has been preserved, on which it is possible to study in which situations the subjects interacted with the lords and how these meetings took place. The paper is based on three main topics: registration of subjects, housing of desolate farms and dismissal of subjects on foreign dominions. Relevant sources were analysed for each of these topics and the findings were built on their basis. The main sources include, in particular, lists of subjects, correspondence between the governor and the Bohemian Royal Chamber, land books and the rich file material of the Zbiroh dominion. The main findings of the work include a description of the mechanisms of dismissal proceedings, the method of registration of subjects and the way in which the governor tried to occupy the empty farms. Line-item veto in the U.S. political system

This thesis named Line-Item Veto in the U. S. Political System aims to describe the line-item veto issue to the Czech political science audience as this topic has not been studied extensively by Czech political scientists. The thesis focuses first on the problem of gubernatorial line-item veto power. It categorises the states by their forms of veto power and analyzes the differences among the 44 states which use some sort of the line-item veto. The second part of this thesis analyzes the issue at the federal level and examines the aims of many presidents who wanted to procure this power. The paper uses two case studies; first of the state Wisconsin, and the second case study, which analyzes the Clinton administration. President Clinton was the first and only president who was granted this power by Congress. The main questions which this thesis seeks to answer are whether or not the line-item veto is a threat to the separation of powers and the system of checks and balances and how presidents who wish to be granted this power argue in order to receive it.
