In my thesis, I was very inspired by middle age, whitch has huge influence on my work. It is a epoch of my interest, I am activelly interrested in it and it is with me throught all my live, practicaly since childhood. In painting there are mainly motives of knight´s armor, whitch is underlying cornerstone of my work. My interrest in armor is caused by it´s technical perfection, decorativeness and majesty in the late phase. In that time technicaly did not acted function of protection, but it acted represetativ function and we can see it like a art or statue. By technical site I really experiment with lots of different technics, in many cases I never stay on single one. I work with layers, underlay, with drawing as well as painting. With diferent washing or scribing I open lower layers, I react to it and then I repaint it, simply experimenting. It is almoust archeology back to the old layers of picture. Discovery, connection older layers with new ones. About the painters whose I am interrested in they are primarily Josef Bolf, Vladimír Kokolia, Jaroslav Róna, Giger, Wolfli, Jackson Pollock.

This bachelor thesis deals with the restoration of a castle in Velké Němčice. The thesis builds on an architectural study carried out in the AG033 course of the Restoration of Monuments Studio. The task of the thesis is to create a complete project for the appropriate restoration and reconstruction of the castle and to propose its new utilization. At the same time, the thesis focuses on the solution of the castle's immediate surroundings. The object of the solution will be designed as a socially cultural object with administrative functions. The castle should serve as a new town hall, and in accordance with this, the following rooms will be created in the castle: a ceremonial hall, information center, mayor's office, secretary's office, registry office, accountant's office, archive, library, club room, refreshment facility, and interactive room. To achieve the implementation of the new operation in the castle, the correct restoration of the historical object is necessary. Using surveys and historical sources, I examine the architectural values and construction of the building. I strive to preserve historically significant layers, remove intrusive modern elements, and return the object its original expression. With the help of new technologies, I also strive to preserve the building for future generations. I propose minimum use of modern structures and elements, and therefore mainly focus on proper reconstruction and restoration.

The diploma thesis deals with Gothic art in Bohemia. The work is divided into three parts. The first, theoretical part, contains a brief introduction, which includes basic information about the Gothic style, followed by exploration of the architecture of Monastery of St. Agnes, which is considered one of the first early Gothic buildings in Bohemia. Subsequently, architectural elements from the High Gothic period, specifically gargoyles and mascarons on the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslas and Adalbert in Prague, are examined. Lastly, the theoretical part includes a presentation of the works of Master Theodorik, as a representative of painting of this period. The didactic part describes an educational project for pupils of the 7th grade of primary school. This project builds upon the various types of Gothic visual arts - architecture, sculpture, painting. Early medieval sacral architecture in the Písek region- revision and analysis
NOVODVORSKÝ, Petr
Písecko is one of the South Bohemian regions where considerable building activity was carried out in the early Middle Ages. At that time, the efforts to colonise the uninhabited and vast forested landscape gave rise to several important cultural centres. The oldest of these emerged at the end of the 12th century in Milevsko. The influential Grand Duke George founded a monastery here, which he filled with a convent of the Premonstratensian Order. There was a workshop at the monastery, which influenced the construction activity of the surrounding area. As a result, a number of rural churches were built in the landscape, the morphology of which is often indicative of the participation of the workshop. Around the middle of the 13th century, another important cultural centre appeared in southern Bohemia, connected with the spread of monarchical power and the founding activities of King Přemysl Otakar II. The founding of the town of Písek and the major expansion of Zvíkov Castle required the construction of another South Bohemian building workshop, referred to in literature as the Písek-Zvíkov workshop. Its influence also reached the area around Milevsko, where the churches analysed and mapped in this thesis are located in the form of a catalogue. It will also include a review of the issue of the so-called Písek-Zvíkov workshop as it was formulated in Czech research more than forty years ago. On the basis of building-historical research and formal analysis of the buildings, the question of the influence of the building workshops should be clarified and an attempt should be made to place the South Bohemian buildings in a corresponding Central European context.

The building history of the Saint Giles´ church in Milevsko
POUZAROVÁ, Johana
Church of St. Giles in Milevsko - building history and art-historical context This bachelor thesis will deal with history of the church of St. Giles, which is located in the area of the former Premonstratensian monastery in Milevsko. Firstly, the author will focus on the history of the oldest building of the church, as evidenced by the massive western tower and part of the northern masonry. The history of the church dates back to the 12th century when a major reconstruction took place in Gothic style. Furthermore, the work will include the history of construction, the urban side of the building and the context of the time of construction. Important aspect of the text will be the preserved presbytery of the church with a developmentally important vault, which in Czech history of art gave its name to one of the vault patterns (the so-called Milev type). The author will conduct the analysis of this vaulting pattern and with the help of newer Czech and foreign literature she will try to place the vault in the context of Prague's Parler and South Bohemian poplar architecture. Furthermore, the work will also contain comparison of formal connections with other sacral buildings, which bear similar if not the same arches as the church of St. Giles.
Gothic and Realistic Features in the Works of Flannery O´Connor and Carson McCullers
ZÁHOROVÁ, Zuzana
The diploma thesis focuses on a comparative analysis of Flannery O'Connor's and Carson McCullers' Southern Gothic literary works. Special emphasis is put on the relationship between the gothic and realistic features. The comparative analysis is based on the characterisation of Southern Gothic literature (the landscape and environment as the main focus), which leads to the specification of its main features. Individual chapters contain O'Connor's and McCullers' biographies. The comparative analysis itself concentrates on the description of the heroes and their relationships, the function of landscape, the meaning of grotesque motifs, the connection of traditional and comical features, the influence of past, the role of religion and the issue of good and evil.
Vitrage as a basic for series of creative lesson on Elementary Art School (theoretical-project thesis)
KŘEPELKOVÁ, Lenka
The following dissertation thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part firstly examines stained glass as an architectural element. The attention is mainly paid to the Bohemian folklore glass painting, which was an integral part of the historical development of glass painting in our country. This concerns the development of glazing window-apertures from the oldest references and proofs of using such methods to the modern impulses of the 20th century. Secondly, the theoretical part discusses art activities in art classes as well as their relation to the Framework Education Programme. Finally, minor attention is given to project-based learning at art schools together with the historical view of this issue. The practical part of this thesis aims to introduce stained glass as a specific subject matter of art series in pursuance of activities at art schools. Firstly, the organisation, preparation and partial realisation of lessons are discussed. Secondly, the particular lessons and their reflections are described.
