This bachelor thesis focuses on the evaluation of the level of education in Czechia and its development in the post-socialist period. The analyses were carried out at three territorial levels - European countries, Czechia, and Czech micro-regions (administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers). Quantitative analysis of secondary data was used to answer the research questions of the thesis. In the European context, the level of education and the state of gender inequalities in Czechia were assessed as below average. The research found an increase in the level of education and a reversal of gender gap in education in Czechia. Spatial clusters of educational attainment were defined by cartographic analysis. The most significant spatial differences were found between socio-economically developed core and suburban regions and weaker, socio-economically disadvantaged peripheral areas. Key words: education, educational level, spatial differentiation, gender inequalities, post- socialist development, Czechia
