Formula Student Front Wheel Carrier Design
Černý, Filip ; Porteš, Petr (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of the front wheel hub and upright of Formula student car. First component is a short search on Formula Student event and comparing diverse structures of upright for use in both racing and road cars. It also includes design of hub and upright in the CAD program and computational model of the upright created in FEM program specifically for stress analysis in selected conditions. It also includes optimization of the overall proposal.
Torsional stiffness of Formula Student frame
Jurnečka, Ladislav ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with detection of torsional stiffness with using photogrammetric equipment TRITOP device and subsequent comparison with created computational model in FEM software. Measurement and calculations were accomplished according to tutorials, which are the most effective and giving the most accurate results. Next the optional method of measurement of torsional stiffness in practice is formed for future formula series called Dragon. The reasons of different results and suggestion of optimalization are sum up in the end of the thesis.
Topological Optimization of Steering Holder
Ženčák, Jan ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of steering holder for a race car in the category Formula Student using topology optimisation and analysis of this design. The objective of this thesis is gaining knowledge about topology optimisation and application of this knowledge to the design of a replacement of the steering gearbox and its holder.
Front Wing for Formula Student
Vrubel, Vít ; Šebela, Kamil (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
This work deals with the verification of the design of the front wing on the Formula Student car. The work is divided into three parts. In the first, a search of the wings used in the Formula Student competition is performed. The second part is devoted to the experiment and the last part is devoted to CFD calculations and comparisons with measured values. Computations were done on computational resources supplied by the project „e-Infrastruktura CZ“ (e-INFRA LM2018140) provided within the program Projects of Large Research, Development and Innovations Infrastructures. Computational resources were provided by the ELIXIR-CZ project (LM2015047), part of the international ELIXIR infrastructure.
Formula Student Wheel Design Using Composite Materials
Jelínek, Josef ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis represents a step for performance improvement of a Formula Student race car monopost of TU Brno Racing team at Brno University of Technology. A detailed research focused on light automotive wheels and suitable materials is only a beginning of this work. Its main part is choosing a light weight wheel concept, creation of a new wheel design and its simulations by finite element method. A deep analysis of vehicle dynamics aims to find the most accurate input data for the simulations. The development of a new wheel is intended to cooperate with the latest monopost generation, Dragon 7. The best choice including the desired material properties is made to use composite materials. A new CAD wheel model had been created. It was recreated into a simulation model and analysed afterwards. The analysis output data are compared to some of the best alternatives among the market and the results confirm this project has a great potential. Therefore the next procedure is projected.
Design of Formula Student Car Wheel Carriers
Chlud, Martin ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
Master’s thesis focused on design and construction of front uprights for Formula Student racing car. Topology optimization and FEM analysis will be used to design the uprights with higher stiffness and minimal weight difference compared to the last model. In the FEM analysis loads will be applied from wheel side and from suspension side. Design of the upright then will be compared to the previous designs especially to safety factor, weight and cost.
Rocker for Formula Student Vehicle
Šprta, Petr ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with a prototype of the rear suspension rockers of the racing monopost Dragon 10th generation, which is being developed at the Brno University of Technology within the international educational project Formula Student. Based on the research, the technology method of casting has been chosen for this purpose. The input for the prototype of the rocker arms is based on the impacting forces and suspension points given by kinematics of the vehicle. Based on these facts, topology optimization of the shapes has been conducted and the components have been modelled accordingly. Followingly, optimization focused on minimizing weight, deformation and stress were conducted using the reverse loading of modelled components. The last part of this thesis is concerned in the comparison of rear rockers of the last year‘s monopost Dragon 9. Taking into consideration the change of the concept, the mechanical properties of rockers are slightly better.
Carbon Fiber Formula Student Driveshaft
Bartoška, Vojtěch ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
The work contains summary of possible design solutions of the drive shafts for Formula Student vehicle. Choice of the composite shaft design and its design, including proposal of tripod and bonded joint. Design verification by static and dynamic testing. Comparison of composite drive shafts with steel drive shafts.
Braking System of Formula Student Vehicle
Bradáč, Jan ; Hejtmánek, Petr (referee) ; Blaťák, Ondřej (advisor)
Design of braking system for Formula Student vehicle. Braking system is one of the most important control system in every vehicle, even more in race car application. Only perfectly working braking system is capable bring the best results. In this diploma thesis are list of used parts with basic force calculation, design of pedal assembly in accordance with the rules of Formula Student, options for measuring and dataloging from ride for next development.
Formula Student Front Wheel Hub Carrier
Lněnička, Martin ; Svída, David (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with assessment front wheel carrier of Formula Student. It contains various ways assessment and suspension of wheel formula and a car. The main contens is production of drawing documentation parts the Formula Student front wheel hub carrier. The next is realization of calculated the durability bearing to soft journey of straight on the roadway.
