Browser Fingerprinting Using Web Assembly
Škuta, Matúš ; Koutenský, Michal (referee) ; Polčák, Libor (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is the implementation of device identification using Web Assembly technology. In this work we are discussing the existing methods of device identification, methods to prevent identification and ways to circumvent these barriers. We are also getting acquainted with the Brave browser, which seeks to reduce the identification of devices on the Internet. We are explaining how Web Assembly works, what are its positives, negatives and if we are able to bypass various defences against device identification thanks to this new technology. Next, we are looking at the several web APIs we are using to identify devices, and we are introducing a few extensions designed to prevent or completely limit device identification. Existing security extensions limit the activity of the Web Assembly, for example this work shows that the Web API Manager extension can neutralize the test page implemented in this work.

Mobile Application Identification Based on TLS Data
Borbély, Richard ; Matoušek, Petr (referee) ; Burgetová, Ivana (advisor)
This thesis deals with identification of mobile applications based on data from network protocol TLS. It conducts a research of values from the TLS handshake, specifically of JA3, JA3S and SNI values. The work represents an application that includes an algorithm performing a classification over TLS data. The results of the classification represent information based on which we can decide, if the identification of the apps was successful. This method allowed to identify 17 of the 18 given applications. The benefit of this work is the ability to identify mobile apps based on JA3, JA3S and SNI values and for example, it can be used in network administration.
Operation System Detection in Network Traffic Using IPFIX
Vymlátil, Martin ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Matoušek, Petr (advisor)
This task deal with detection of operation system in network traffic using IPFIX. The main idea of this task is based on the fingeprinting, when we use information from IP and TCP headers to determine operation system. This data represent a unique signature of the operation system. Based on the information a plugin for the FlowMon probe was designed and implemented. Plugin was tested on live network traffic and pcap files.
Optimizing JShelter Performance
Zmitko, Martin ; Polčák, Libor (referee) ; Hranický, Radek (advisor)
This thesis aims to lessen the impact of JShelter on the browsing experience. The goal was accomplished by measuring the performance of JShelter and analyzing the hotspots that impacted browsing performance the most. Finally, optimizations based on analysis results while leaving the high provided level of protection uncompromised were proposed and implemented. JShelter's fingerprinting protections based on image and audio data processing were optimized by extending them with a more efficient implementation using WebAssembly, which, in some cases, was faster by up to 50 times. The performance while loading web pages was increased with changes in configuration loading and injection mechanisms, on average by 13.5 %.
Web API Blocking
Frandel, Martin ; Hranický, Radek (referee) ; Polčák, Libor (advisor)
The aim of this work is to obtain the web APIs used in the top 1 000 000 pages of the Tranco ranking along with their subpages using the Web API Manager extension, then analyze and categorize the obtained data. Design a mechanism for the JShelter extension supporting blocking of individual web APIs that have been evaluated as tracking or advertising, implement the solution and then test it. In total, 2 973 276 web pages were analyzed. The captured data was aggregated with respect to web API insecurity, analyzed and the results described in the paper, with some API calls being blocked up to 93.33 % of the time. I was able to develop a method for identifying problematic APIs. Using polynomial regression, I found polynomials that describe the blocking behavior towards individual web APIs and their methods. I implemented the blocking functionality in the JShelter extension and successfully tested the solution.
Fingerprinting - Past, Present and Future
Semera, Lukáš ; Krupička, Jiří (advisor) ; Konrád, Zdeněk (referee)
FINGERPRINTING - PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE The objective of this thesis is to present the forensic fingerprinting as a scientific method which, although in comparison with other forensic sciences being one of the oldest, is not out-dated at all, quite to the contrary - it presents an ever-changing and continuously developing field of science. The objective is approached through three distinctive and yet intertwined chapters corresponding with the title of the thesis - past, present and future of the fingerprinting. They are also designed, at least in part, to capture this constant forward motion. Accordingly, the first chapter aims to describe briefly scientific roots of the method, the way it drew in its beginnings from various scientific discoveries, inspired by the rise of Darwinism. Particular emphasis is put on the description of the formulation and empirical confirmation of three physiological laws of fingerprinting that even today serve as its grounds. The second chapter deals with and tries to describe the current state of knowledge and particular methods used in detection, development and preservation of fingerprints, especially latent ones. To do this it seems to be necessary to describe briefly the anatomy and physiology of friction ridge skin, as it enables to fully comprehend the way in...

Kameník, Zdeněk ; Nesměrák, Karel (advisor) ; Cvačka, Josef (referee) ; Bosáková, Zuzana (referee)
(EN) This dissertation thesis contains scientific results achieved in the field of analytical chemistry, particularly liquid chromatography. The major part of the results has been published in prestigious international journals in five papers. In addition to that, relevant yet unpublished results have been included as well. In general terms, the work presented here contributed to the concerted efforts to tackle the current lack of novel antibiotics. Specifically, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) techniques coupled to a variety of detection systems have been employed for analysis of antibiotics and actinomycete secondary metabolites. The first thematic part describes the development of liquid chromatography methods for analysis of lincomycin precursors, lincomycin precursor analogues, and lincomycin derivatives. The methods have been applied to study lincomycin biosynthetic pathway and obtain improved lincomycin derivatives by mutasynthesis. The second thematic part aims at investigating alternative approaches for analysis of antibiotics. Firstly, the core-shell particle and the sub-2 μm particle chromatographic columns were compared. The core-shell particle columns compatible with HPLC proved to be a convenient alternative to the...
