Network Application Chess Learning
Dvořák, Petr ; Rozman, Jaroslav (referee) ; Zbořil, František (advisor)
The work deals with creating of application for teaching chess. Teaching methods include not only play against the computer, but also a network play against the player or computer. It is also created the support to use chess diagrams. The program support existing playing games in standard PGN format. A chess engine is responsible for analysis of these games and it communicates via standard Win / XBoard. The Chess engine generates alternative moves in a given position and provides the player to think about. The application also supports standard FEN. In the opening chapters of this work are discussed used tools, the basics of chess and more detail existing types of chess notation. In other parts of the work I analyze an existing individual chess standards, theirs design and theirs implementation in my program. In the rest of the work I describe designed and implemented parts of the program, such as its graphic design and supporting side panels. In the last chapter I describe the server that connects all the current players.
Vegetation changes in transition bogs at fishpond epilitorals
Spilka, Josef ; Karlík, Petr (advisor) ; Kindlmann, Pavel (referee)
This study concerns in a three peatland sites: the epilitorals of Pilská reservoir and Hořejší Padrťský fishpond in Příbram region and Kamenný fishpond in Pilsen. These peat-bobg were affected by negative conseqences of human activities. The aim of this study is to find out what kind these changes was and what extent they were. The changes in vegetation were observed from two points of view. The GIS analyses of aerial photographs represent the macroscale view. Repeating of old phytosociological relevées was the microscale view. To understand the cause of vegetation changes, the species-environment analyses were used. Four transects were made for this purpose and a water table level, pH and conductivity were mesured monthly along these transects. One-shot measurements of N and P water concentration and a peat depth were also carried out. Measured data from transects were uses in multivariate vegetation analyses and also in one- way analysis, aimed to an expansion plant species. All three sites of concern came through strong changes in past. In all of them the area of biotops of great conservation importance decreased and some endangered plant species have been lost there. The changes in Pilská reservoir epilitoral were mostly anthropogenic, whereas the mires of Hořejší Padrťský fishpond and Kamenný...
LOCAL WINDS AND WIND SYSTEMS
Kořanová, Michaela ; Müller, Miloslav (advisor) ; Hošek, Jiří (referee)
The presented thesis deals with the flowing of air in the tertiary circulation. We divide tertiary circulation into two categories: local winds and local wind systems. Local wind systems arise from different absorbation of solar radiation of two different surfaces which border together and the phenomena classified in this category are breeze circulation, mountain-valley circulation, country breeze, glacier wind and forrest wind. Local winds arise from local impacts on secondary circulation. Flowing of foehn, flowing of bora, desert wind and mountain gap wind are classified in this category. Then we deal with specific manifestation of winds and with their names. The names of the winds are frequently derivatives of the names of the localities or cardinal points from which the wind is blowing, of the winds' localities or manifestation of the wind. It is difficult to understand the names. For example, in south Africa they call the foehn "Berg Wind", which means mountain wind, because it is blowing from the direction where the mountain range is situated. Then we have chosen some eminent cases of occurence of the local winds. We have worked out case studies of Föhn in Altdorf, Switzerland (April, 2012), of Bura in the city of Senj, Croatia (November, 2004), of breeze circulation in Vigo, Spain (July,...

Dynamics of aboveground biomass of a sedge fen
HAŠEK, Ladislav
This thesis is part of Project of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic No P504/11/1151, focused on the role of plants in the balance of carbon dioxide and the other greenhouse gases produced in the ecosystem of a sedge fen, which is situated on the study site Wet Meadows near Třeboň. The thesis deals with the growth dynamics of the dominant sedge, Carex acuta. The samples were taken using the method of successive harvests near the automatic meteorological station of Czech Globe, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. During the growing season nine harvests were accomplished on 25.3, 15.4, 6.5, 5.6., 9.7., 5.8., 9.9., 21.10., 25.11.. On each date eight replicates were taken, i.e., a total of 72 samples within the vegetation season. The seasonal dynamic of the above ground biomass was compared between C. acuta and the other plant species on the experimental area. Both live and dead biomass, was harvested and subsequently sorted to single botanic species, dried, weighed and the values were processed using the MS Excel tables. The seasonal maximum of aboveground biomass of all plant species (both live and dead parts) was found on 9.7. (1452,72 g.m-2). Among plant species the highest values of aboveground biomass were attained by Calamagrostis canescens (1257,93 g.m-2) and C. acuta (1163,49 g.m-2). C. acuta displayed the highest density of all shoots on 15.4 (300 m-2),and the highest average weight of one shoot. The maximum length of the longest live shoot of Carex acuta was very consistent among the measurememnts.
Vegetation and carbon gas dynamics under a changed hydrological regime in central European peatlands
URBANOVÁ, Zuzana
The effect of drainage and restoration on the ecology of different types of peatlands in the Šumava Mountains was investigated. The study was focused primarily vegetation dynamics, carbon gas fluxes and their linkages under the affected hydrological regimes.

Monitorování změn vegetace, vodního režimu a chemismu šumavských rašelinišť, vyhodnocení časové řady leteckých snímků. V roce 2002 bylo monitorováno 10 rašelinišť.
