Kotasová, Eva ; Marková, Alena (advisor) ; Dudová, Radka (referee)
The present thesis deals with the media image of women's everyday life in the socialist era. It focuses on the period of time between 1970 and 1975, i.e. on the so called early normalization. The aim of the study is to find out in what way the everyday life of the given period is interpreted by the magazine Vlasta. The main value of the analysis is that it reveals the idealistic presentation of the socialist women's way of life, and their common problems and worries. The analysis of the articles we perform is focused on family and home care, child upbringing both at home and in institutions, man's role in the family, physical and mental health, cosmetics, fashion, etc., i.e. all the aspects belonging to and forming everyday life. Through these topics, which are popular among women, the magazine discreetly created the ideal of the socialist woman. In the messages concerned with everyday life it was passing on the values, stereotypes and even ideological principles of the socialist society of that time. The main aim of the analysis is to create a complex picture of this everyday practice in Vlasta magazine. Key words Everyday life, woman, socialisms, normalization, Vlasta magazine, family care, home care, child care

Thesis subject: The Role of Family Carers in the Nursing Home for Persons with Cognitive Impairment. The theme of this thesis is the role of the family carers in the nursing home for persons with cognitive impairment. This topic is very actual due to the aging of society and to the increasing of life expectancy. A proportion of the old people in society increases but in the same time there is a decreasing number of people who could take care of them at home (due to negative population balance, disintegration of traditional family, economic situation and high requirements of the care etc.). Many seniors who are depending on the help of the others (such as people with dementia) spend their old age in institutional care. The qualitative research in this thesis shows that families continue in caregiving even after the admission of their relatives to a nursing home. The aim of this research was to describe the involvement of families in the institutional care and to identify factors that influence this phenomenon. Research was conducted in one nursing home for persons with cognitive impairment. Semistructured interviews were conducted with a sample of informants consisting of five professional nurses and four family carers. The analysis of data was carried out using the grounded theory. TOMKOVÁ, Hana
With growing number of old and sick people, the demands on the economically active part of population are increasing from moral, financial and social points of view. Family care for old and sick people is not so self-evident as in former times any more; professionals speak about diversion from family. Family plays unsubstitutable role in every human's life. Since time out of mind, institutional care has been existing in the society, but it turns out that it is not the best solution for one{\crq}s declining years. The goal of the work was to ascertain the attitude to family care in 4 population groups; students of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies as future professionals on social issue, students of the Faculty of Economics as their counterparts, employees of a seniors{\crq} home who are in daily contact with the infirm, and a group of lay public in the age in which they will have to deal with the relevant issue participated in the questionnaire investigation. The work used the method of analysis of documents using the technique of secondary data analysis and the quantitative method of questioning using the questionnaire technique. The results of the investigation showed that the study of different fields at different faculties leads to different students{\crq} attitude to family care. They showed further that the employees of the seniors{\crq} home are not unambiguously convinced that institutional care is the best solution of care for seniors. The hypothesis of the research was the statement that the public inclines to family care from the point of view of life reality. This statement was confirmed. The attitude to family care was ascertained in all the groups questioned, so the goals of the work were met. Although the present society progresses very quickly and lays higher and higher demands on individuals, there are still a lot of such persons among us who do not shrink away from the demandingness of care in family circle, because it is normal in life to give care twice and to accept it twice.
