The Body (Intimity)

With this set I am following my previous work in which I was occupying with woman body. I catch body in intimate moments – but I encode it, so it is almost not obvious. I use light irony and exaggeration in my pictures. In this set I work with woman body as a object of voyer, who observes the woman with a peephole, lense, field glass or camera. But I keep it all in abstract and stylized position. I work with code, thanks to which we at first perceive the picture as colourful and shaped painting forms that gradually show womans body. I use bigger ammount of abstract, when forms of the body balance at the edge between figural and abstract. I enjoy the moment when there is not everything visible at the first sight in the picture. I want the viewer to look for the body, observe it and explore it. I do not aim for catching the beauty of the body or is real visual shape. I work with light irony of voyeur looks by using some deformations of the body parts.

The hidden truth of Historia Ecclesiastica written by Eusebius of Caesarea

Diplomová práce zkoumá jednotlivé kapitoly knihy Církevní Dějiny napsané Eusebiem Cézarejským, jež je označován jako "otec církevních dějin", přesto kniha obsahuje velké množství nejasností, rozporů, nepřesností a její celkový obsah vyznívá jako snaha o apologii raděj nežli seriózní historické dílo. V diplomové práci vycházím z velkého množství pramenných zdrojů od respektovaných učenců v oblasti teologie rané církve a historie. Cílem práce je důkladně prozkoumat jednotlivé kapitoly, které vykazují největší množství problematických částí stejně tak jako závěr, zda Eusebius se pokoušel cíleně "ohnout" pravdu ve své upřímné víře či zda jeho cílem bylo sepsat obranu křesťanství, která se pouze tváří jako seriózní historické dílo. Annotation The master thesis focus on a particular chapter of Historia Ecclesiastica written by Eusebius of Caesarea, who is renowned as "father of church history" although the book contains a number of serious mistakes, interpolations, discrepancies and exaggerations. In its complexity could be perceived as an apologetic writing rather than historical writing. I used a great amount of sources by respected scholars in my master thesis while its aim is research of particular chapters which demonstrate the most controversies. A contrastive study of hyperbole in Czech and English. A corpus-based study

The aim of this study is to compare and contrast the use of hyperbole or exaggeration in spoken Czech and English language. The research is based on comparative approach to two samples accounting for 100 hyperbolic instances in Czech and 100 instances of hyperbole in English. The Czech sample has been randomly excerpted from the oral part of the Czech National Corpus ORAL2008, whereas the English sample has been randomly excerpted from the "spoken context-govern" and "spoken demographic" sections of The British National Corpus. The two samples are subject to analysis. Firstly, the formal realization of hyperbole is examined. Secondly, the occurrences are classified semantically (quantitative versus qualitative hyperbole) and, thirdly, the lexico-semantics is examined (hyperbolic source domains). By this, the present study tests the hypothesis of universal hyperbolic source domains by examining the situation in Czech and English. Finally, the occurrence of conventionalized instances of hyperbole as opposed to creative instances of hyperbolic nonce-usages is examined. Last but not least, it is the aim of this study to provide the overall frequency figures of hyperbole in both languages.

Legal and ethical aspects of advertising with focus on use of hyperbole

This work deals with advertising and its regulation both through legal norms and ethical self-regulation. Aim of the thesis is to define the scope given to advertising hyperbole and exaggeration by legal and ethical rules and based on selected decisions of the Czech Advertising Standards Council and rulings of Czech courts to provide a set of advice on how to use hyperbole in advertising. As groundwork for the research on the restrictions affecting use of advertising hyperbole there has been analyzed Czech legal and self-regulatory framework of advertising.
