Computational structural assessment of buildings in terms of energy performance
Kaplan, Václav ; TROJAN,, Karel (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the computational comparison of the energy performance of buildings of various construction materials. The work aims at assessing the building as a thermal system. The theoretical part describes the methods for calculating the energy performance of buildings. The experimental part of the work focuses on quantifying the heat consumption of specific buildings in terms of thermal stability and it is later compared with the results calculated in accordance with the applicable technical standards.
Assessment reduced heat loss of an apartment house
Šimková, Nikola ; Kudela, Libor (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The rising trend in energy prices has led to the search for options to reduce its need. The bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of the heat loss reduction for an apartment building. In the introduction, it deals with factors affecting the energy consumption for heating. It reviews the heat loss of a building and possibilities to minimalize it, which leads to an energy performance reduction. Subsequently, it deals with the calculation procedure of the design heat loss for the model apartment building before and after the implementation of measures to reduce heat losses. In the end these two states are compared and evaluated with each other The result is an assessment of the reconstruction benefits.
Study of the influence of structural systems for the energy performance of buildings
Dus, Tomáš ; TROJAN,, Karel (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The theme of the diploma thesis is study the influence of structural systems for the energy performance of buildings. The thesis compares designed and measured values of the energy consumption of selected buildings with different bearing structure materials beside the results from numerical modeling of energy consumption.
Thermal Insulation of Apartment Buildings: Decision-making Process and Effect on Energy Savings
Častorálová, Lucie ; Ščasný, Milan (advisor) ; Chytilová, Julie (referee)
Thermal Insulation of Apartment Buildings: Decision-making Process and Effect on Energy Savings Abstract In order to lower the emissions of green-house gases it is necessary to explore the wide range of the energy efficiency options. This thesis attempts to analyse the effect of thermal insulation installed in the multi-family apartment buildings during the period of 2006-2012 in the Czech Republic. We also investigate whether providing governmental funding further improves energy performance of the insulated apartment buildings. In addition, we examine the collective decision-making processes of members of the multi-family apartment building associations, including their attitudes towards thermal insulation of their houses. The basis of this thesis is the econometric panel data model (with 45 apartment buildings and their energy consumption before and after the insulation) evaluated by the fixed effects method with cluster confirming that the insulation, investments and public funding had all significant and negative impact on the energy consumption in the buildings, when energy consumption was adjusted for weather conditions. After the analysis it was concluded that the more the owners invest in thermal insulation, the more they will save in the long run. The governmental funding led to even greater...
