Assessment of the effectiveness of social services

The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the methods for assessing the effectiveness of social services. I use the example of the organization Cesta domů o. s. applying the multicriteria method created by South Moravian Region for assessing the effectiveness of registered social services provided in its region. At the beginning I explain what social service is, its history and the types of social services, then the financial sources that can be used. Subsequently the methods that are suitable for assessing the effectiveness of social services. For my analysis I use the example of the organization Cesta domů o. s. , describing the organization itself and the social services it provides, the organization provides respite care and professional social consulting, following that there is an analysis of the effectiveness of the two provided social services. In closing I present the results of my analysis.
The asssessment and remuneration of employees in public administration compared to private sector

This thesis deals with the assessment and remuneration of employees, which is used by the public and private sectors. First, there is described the legal regulation related to the issue, both at a general level, focusing primarily on the Labour Code and relevant additional standards, as well as the specifics of the legislation applicable to the remuneration of public employees. The description is then devoted to the topic of assessment and remuneration, which describes the principles and methods of these systems, again in general terms and then with the specifics of public administration. On a practical level, there is an analysis of systems of specific public institution, the office of the Municipal District of the Capital City of Prague - Prague 3, which is then compared with the system used by the private company. The result of this analysis and comparison is providing recommendations to improve the effectiveness of assessment and remuneration tools.
Fulfilment of selected goals analysis of international organization ASEAN

This bachelor thesis aims to measure fulfilment level of chosen goals, defined in foundation documents of international organization ASEAN. The main goal of this thesis is to measure the level of fulfilment of each chosen goal and find out, whether or not ASEAN functions effectively. Thesis is divided into three parts. First, it outlines international organization theory, applies it to the case of ASEAN and suggests some ways to measure effectiveness of international organizations. In second, practical part, thesis analyses fulfilment of five chosen economic, political and development goals. Finally, thesis measures the effectiveness of ASEAN's activity, using the findings from practical part. According to the chosen methodology, ASEAN seems to be a quite effective international organization, which is especially successful in the political domain. It has already achieved partial accomplishments in the development and economical areas, although still has broad improvement opportunities in the latter.
Effectiveness of development aid in sub Saharan Africa

Region of sub Saharan Africa receives the most resources from development aid in the long term and at the same time there is a highest number of least develop countries. Therefore thesis is dedicated to the matter of effectiveness of development aid. Introducing problems and overall characteristics of the region, development aid and its historic development is goal of the first chapter. In the second chapter effectiveness of development aid is examined through analysis of selected studies from distinguished authors within the field, moreover the scope is dedicated to issues of measurability of development aid and the question of inappropriately setting of goals. Following chapter is concentrated on dependency of sub Saharan countries to donor countries and agencies providing aid and to motives of those donors to intervene in this region. Emphasis is put on neo-colonialism as a representative form of this dependency. Ending of the thesis is dedicated to Norway that provides high amount of resources to development aid measured by share of the GDP in the long term.
Do Subsidies from the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations Improve Financial Performance of their Recipients?

The thesis is focused on the effectiveness of the subsidies granted from the structural funds of the European Union. Its aim is to verify whether subsidies improve financial performance of their recipients. The thesis is based on the theoretical concept of subsidies and empirical studies proving their either positive or negative effects on the economy. It further analyzes effects of subsidies granted from the Operational programme "Podnikání a inovace" (Enterprise and Innovations) on financial performance of their recipients in following years using the instruments of statistics and econometrics. The results are compared with financial performance of the members of a control group consisting of unsuccessful subsidy applicants in respective period. The thesis comes to the conclusion that subsidies have very weak positive effect on financial performance of their recipients.
Efetivita zahraniční pomoci: Případová studie Haiti

My master's thesis deals with a form of soft power and foreign policy, the development aid. In the three chapters I provide an analysis of the potential impacts of such financial flows in the particular case of Haiti. This country has become an exemplar of the fact that even billions of dollars do not have to contribute to improving the economic and living conditions, on the contrary, aid in combination with incorrectly set policies can become an instrument of destruction. Using econometric models and policy analysis I examine the impact of official development assistance on the political, economic, environmental and social sector. At the end of the work I list recommendations for the future, which could contribute to improving the situation.
Transparency and disclosure in hospitals as a competitive advantage

Transparency and information disclosure are important elements in the building strong and confiding relationships between core stakeholders of the hospital, including patients, physicians and hospital management, and allow improving hospital performance on the market. Effects of transparent information environment existence in the medical institution can be wide but the most compelling and attractive are those, which are connected with motivation to improve and change of patients and physicians attitudes towards organisation. On the base of non-for-profit hospital in one of the regions in the Russian Federation, this study examined information flows between hospital, physicians and patients, and their perspectives towards transparency. In order to achieve aims of the research, surveys and interview were conducted in the hospital, according to which results inferences and recommendations were developed.
Motivation and reward system of non-profit organizations

The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the current system of remuneration and motivation in terms of non-profit organizations and suggest steps that would lead to its improvement. To achieve the aim was selected Elementary school Ivana Olbrachta. To obtain information, an analysis of statistical reports and financial statements. Further interviews were conducted with employees of the organization. Established the amount and structure provided separately salary of teaching and non- teaching staff. Was also analyzed the effectiveness of paid salary costs. Based on this analysis were determined proposals to increase efficiency. Further motivation was decommissioned a total remuneration in the organization. Based on the analysis of the total remuneration were determined suggestions for its improvement.
Capital structure of the company and capital productivity

Theme of this thesis is capital structure of the company and capital productivity. The aim is evaluation of relationship between capital structure of the company and capital productivity followed by recommended suggestions to optimize capital structure of the company from the perspective of increasing the capital productivity. The first part of this thesis clarifies theoretical knowledge from Czech and foreign literature. In the practical part, the analyzed company is presented and the analysis evaluating capital structure of the company are made. Afterwards capital produktivity and its relationship to capital structure is evaluated. Bases for practical part were gained from financial statements of selected company. In conclusion, there are presented recommendations to optimize the capital structure in terms of capital productivity for analyzed company.
