Free time programs for Roma

The bachelor thesis introduces various organizations that deal with the problematics of the Roma ethnic group. It is focused on the contemporary situation of the Roma and for Roma organisations in the Czech Republic, their provided services and the way of their financial support. The work also gives information of the representative organizations which provide mainly free time programs for Roma kids and teenagers and it introduces their particular activities. The essential meaning of streetwork and the institutions focused on the children and teenagers from the socially weak environment is explained here as well. The problematics of Roma children educational proces is also mentioned. The practical part of the thesis concentrates on the Daytime centre for the kids and teenagers in Žďár nad Sázavou. Its contemporary condition and merit of the programmes are evaluated here.

Sexual education in elementary schools in Czech Republic

The thesis deals with the issue of sex education at schools. The objective is to analyse the current state of sex education at primary schools. Basic information is being drawn from the theory of sex education and it is being dealt with its aims, content, principles, methods, and concepts. The history of ways in which sexuality has been perceived is an integral part of the text. A brief overview of stages which the process of integrating sex education into education programmes has gone through is included as well. A reflexion on the ways sex education is handled abroad can be also found within the thesis. Emphasis is being laid on the social impact of complex sex education and its role in preventing a number of pathological social facts and other negative aspects in the society as a whole. Attention is being paid to topics of public policy revolving around sex education and to the values involved in the process of creating education policies. The work makes use of qualitative analytical methods of both public policy documents and expert studies. This means is combined with secondary data analysis. The organization of primary and lower secondary education in Europe: Comparative analysis of the Czech Republic and Finland in terms of equity.

This thesis is a comparative study, which compare two selected countries, Finland and the Czech Republic in the organization of basic education. The benchmark of equity has been chosen as a comparative criterion. This criterion was further divided into single indicators. The key indicator in this respect was the selectivity of educational systems. For this reason, the thesis presents especially the form and the extent of differentiation of students by each level of basic education in both chosen counties and try to find the number of children who are educated in them. The results of comparative analysis showed that five educational programs with different degree of quality exist in the Czech Republic, while there are only two types of schools in Finland. Finland has used the differentiation of pupils in schools, even in clases in much smaller scale in comparison with the Czech Republic. In Finland, there are no classes with extended teaching of some subjects. The next difference between selected countries is about the age when the students start to be selectived. The students are not differentionated before 16-years in Finland. Implementation of the multicultural education and attitudes of teachers to the multicultural education

This diploma thesis deals with attitudes of teachers towards the introduction of the multicultural education within the curriculum reform of the regional system of education in the Czech Republic. The thesis then deals also with the course of implementation of the multicultural education in practice and with attitudes of teachers towards further training in this area. Since teachers are the key persons involved in the implementation of education policy, their attitude is crucial for successful implementation of the multicultural education. The methodology is based on the qualitative data analysis obtained from interviews with teachers. There are three main theoretical resources followed in this thesis, belief systems of Paul A. Sabatier, the theory of street-level bureaucracy of Michael Lipsky and multicultural education theories. Teachers have positive attitudes to the multicultural education. But some have their own prejudices against other ethnic groups. Although teachers understand positively their autonomy in the implementation of the multicultural education in practice, they express the need for certain rules in the implementation of the multicultural education. Knowledge for inclusion: strategies and implementation of social and structural integration of refugees in European Union through multifaceted orientation, education, and training programmes

This work is an attempt to outline prospects of theoretically and practically justified refugees' integration in its initial levels through orientation and education programmes using previous and present positive experience, but also taking into consideration the letter of International Law and Human Rights, moral and ethical perspective, so direct and prospective benefits for all the parties concerned, i.e. the EU, nation-states, communities, citizens, newcomers. The main focus is on multifaceted Orientation, Education, and Training Programmes (OETPs) that are presented as one of the most significant tools of social and structural integration into state's and public spheres. Presence of OETPs is being traced in theoretical framework, political discourse, and practical implementation of integration policies at different levels of the EU realm. There is a stress made on policy design, implementation, and evaluation provided by national governments and local authorities so role of civic sector, activities of UNHCR, and community level enterprises. .
Use of computers in kindergarten

This diploma thesis looks at and examines the use of using computers in kindergartens - in particular, their use by members of the teaching staff. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the use of computers by the school principal and teachers and particularly but most importantly, the direct use of computers as part of the educational activities aimed at children in kindergarten. The practical part examines the current degree to which computers are used in kindergartens in the region of Central Bohemia and the potential interest of parents in having computers and educational computer games used in the education of their children in these kindergartens. In summary, the thesis will make an assessment of the impact the use of computers and computer related activities are having on selected areas of the education of kindergarten age children.
