My thesis focuses on the market competitiveness of International Power Opatovice plc's operations on the liberalised European electricity market. The theoretical part of my thesis explains such terms as liberalisation and unbundling, and defines the roles of various market participants, traded energy products , and the electricity market structure. The methodology part of the thesis is dedicated to the tools used in conducting economic analyses, whereas the practical part comprises an economic analysis of the monitored company International Power Opatovice. plc.

Analysis of the economic efficiency of the company TRW Volant Inc.

Diploma thesis deals with evaluation of the economic situation of the company TRW Volant Inc. in the years 2003 -- 2007 and assessment of its financial health by analysing the chosen economic indicators. There are shortly described the individual phases of financial analysis as a basic instrument of the economic analysis in the theoretical part and there are also explained some basic terms. The practical part is focused on further identification of the company and the branch where it operates in, and also on aplication of theoretical analyses by means of mathematic calculation and graphic comparison. For the analysis purposes I used f.e. ratio indexes from the sphere of profitability, liquidity, structure of capital, activity and capital market, value index EVA, chosen bankruptcy and financial standing models, Du Pont's pyramidal decomposition etc. One of the component parts is also comparison of the analysed company with an average of the branch.

Ekonomická analýza vybraného průmyslového podniku

Předmětem diplomové práce je zpracování ekonomické analýzy vybraného průmyslové podniku s využitím nástrojů a metod finanční a ekonomické analýzy. Cílem práce je na základě detailní analýzy účetních a interních dat z let 2003 až 2008 prozkoumat vnitřní ekonomické závislosti, specifické pro daný podnik, a na základě toho co nejpřesněji predikovat stav na konci roku 2009. Součástí analýzy je také podrobné odvětvové srovnání podniku s využitím výpočtu hodnoty EVA pomocí metodiky pyramidového rozkladu ročního ukazatele EVA-INFA, jak ji používá Ministerstvo průmyslu a obchodu ČR. Kromě jiného je cílem práce doporučit vedení analyzovaného podniku opatření, která by vedla v roce 2009 a dalších letech ke zlepšení ukazatele EVA.

Economic analysis of VEBA company

This master thesis is focused on economic analysis of VEBA company in period 2003 -- 2008. The master thesis is divided into two main parts. The first one is describing the process of economic analysis in general, its users and used methods. The second part is practical. In this part there are used methods and models from the first part with concrete numbers in each year. After that there are comments of the results. At the end of the master thesis there are stated the possible causes of declining financial results in the coming period.

This book focuses on an evaluation of technical, economical, and personal aspects of e-learning deployment in a theoretical plane and in the specific environment of the bank ČSOB, a. s. The thesis begins by an introduction of the term e-learning and a brief description of main properties and characteristics of this new trend in a field of not only corporate education. Special attention is devoted to an assessment of business benefits and cots of education; every aspect is analyzed and compared both for the classical brick and mortar classroom instructor led education and for the e-learning. The thesis introduces two mathematical models for assessing an effectiveness of e-learning deployment. Theoretical concepts are applied to data from a real course which was run in one of the main Czech banks ČSOB, a. s. Last part briefly examines the concepts and benefits of SCORM standard package and its support in the SAP LS 600 system.

Application methods on economic analysis in firm Neuman s.r.o. and value calculating

The diploma work is focused on theoretical and practical analysis of methods of feasibility study and calculation of firm's value by method of discounted free cash flows. Tendencies of development and firm's weak points for past 6 years have been discovered by using various analysis. I was comparing change of individual indicators with the main indicator rentability on equity. The conclusion of my study is:" In case of increase in rentability on equity, we can expect improvement also of other indicators."

Bankové krízy vo svete, ich detekcia, priebeh a rozbor príčin

Cieľom teoretickej časti práce bolo vymedzenie pojmu ?banková kríza?, rozbor príčin, následkov a nákladov týchto nepriaznivých udalostí a analýza nástrojov a opatrení, ktoré sa používajú k riešeniu krízy. Posledná časť rozoberá prípadovú štúdiu - bankovú krízu v Japonsku v rokoch 1992-1998 a ilustruje poznatky teoretickej časti. Cieľom tejto diplomovej práce je analýza ex-post bankovej krízy, odhalenie dôsledkov a ponaučení, ktoré nám priniesla. Banková kríza s nepriehliadnuteľnými negatívnymi dopadmi dáva za príklad, že sila ekonomiky neznamená finančnú stabilitu a nezraniteľnosť bankového sektoru a že príčiny kríz nemožno vzájomne oddelovať, pretože vo väčšine prípadov sa prelínajú a spoločne vplývajú na narušovanie bankového sektoru a vyvolávajú krízu.
