Application for mobile devices and its use in tourism

Modern technologies increasingly influence all fields of human activity including tourism. Mobility is becoming a key component and mobile technologies are used in tourism more and more often. This bachelor thesis focuses on applications for mobile devices and their use in tourism. The first part of the thesis deals with E-tourism, there are a characteristic and a description of its development and its contemporary trends. Further attention is paid to M-tourism, in the same time describing mobile web and mobile applications themselves. The following section maps the market of mobile applications which can be used in tourism. The last part contains an evaluation of questionnaire investigation of knowledge and usage of these applications by respondents.

Postavenie a význam recenzných systémov v rámci e-Turizmu

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the use and impact of review sites on e-tourism. In the first chapter the term e-tourism is explained by illustrating the use of information and communication technologies in tourism. Then there are depicted its latest trends with the emphases on web and mobile technologies and applications. The second chapter deals with recent phenomenon of social media and their possibilities of usage in the tourism industry. The review sites are a part of social media and they are characterized in detail in the third chapter. This chapter is devoted to their possibility of use, advantages and disadvantages for the travellers and for the service providers in the tourism industry as well. The final conclusion and summary of the use of review sites in e-tourism based on the results of the questionnaire was drawn. Besides its position in e-tourism their future trends were deduced as well.

This work concentrates on trends in e-tourism. It describes the technologies that have influenced the development of services in tourism. It deals with the usage of the Internet and other technologies from the point of view of supply as well as demand of tourism and describes the interaction among the providers and the customers. It includes examples of the usage of technologies in various areas of tourism for a better understanding of the issue.
