Phonological abilities of children with dyslalia in preschool age

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of phonological abilities of children with dyslalia in preschool age. The main goal of the thesis lies therefore in the analysis of the phonological abilities of the stated target group. Based on the main goal, partial objectives and research questions were defined. A method of qualitative research strategy - a case study was used to fulfil the objectives of the thesis. To gather the data, test methods and analysis of the available documents were used. To create a comprehensive picture of the monitored children, the methods mentioned above were supplemented with an interview with a clinical speech therapist. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the empirical part. The theoretical part consists of three chapters. The first chapter deals with the definition of key terms such as communication, communication skills, as well as the development of speech, language and communication. In this chapter, attention is paid also to a preschool child. The second chapter describes the issue of phonological abilities, which are presented in the context of the phonetic- phonological language level. The last chapter looks into the issue of dyslalia. Manifestations in the language levels of first class pupils at reglat elementary

The diploma thesis "Manifestations in the language levels of the 1st grade pupils of the regular elemntary school" consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with general terms from the area of speech and language development, describes the development of motor skills, auditory and visual perception. Furthermore, it describes individual language levels and the most common types of speech disorders encountered in primary school pupils. The research part of the thesis is devoted to the analysis of speech manifestations on individual levels of pupils of the first grade of the regular elementary school. The partial aim of the research is to analyze the gross, fine and oromotorics of the examined children, to analyze their auditory and visual perception and to analyze the quality of all language levels. School readiness of children with dyslalia

Bachelor thesis has a goal to recapitulate current knowledge of school readiness and dyslalia problematics. Children with speech disorder, dyslalia attending main educational stream kindergartens were chosen on purpouse of research. Theoretical part of the thesis focuses on school readiness problematics and defines this concept. It also deals with dyslalia, its diagnosis and therapy. Conclusion of the theoretical part focuses on speech disorders prevention. The thesis follows up connection between school readiness and above- mentioned speech disorder. In particular individuals, it examines the current state of school readiness and assesses dyslalia problem areas. Quality reasearch was used in the thesis. Research information has been elaborated in case study design. For better clarity the dates are presented in charts. Main monitored areas are motorics, speech and auditory perception. Other areas related to school readiness, such as visual perception, perception of space and time, mathematical concepts, physical condition, ability to work and emotional maturity, were also monitored.
Issues of communication disability of children in institutional care

The topic of this bachelor's thesis is an analysis of the communication disabilities of children in institutional care. The first theoretical section covers children's speech development. The second section defines communication disabilities which are specific to the speech development of children who are in institutional care during their critical development period (up to 6 years old). The third section has a theoretical description of the communication disabilities that are experienced most commonly by all pre-school and younger school age children. The practical section aims to identify differences in the speech development of children growing up in institutional care, with the speech development of children growing up in their family's homes. The data for this analysis was compiled using questionnaires. The final section explains speech therapy techniques which parents carry out with their children at home, and care assistants carry out in instructional care facilities.
Parents options in reeducation of dyslalia in the pre-school children

Bachelor thesis is focused on parents, whose children suffer from dyslalie. First part of thesis summarises the wals, which can lead to reduction of dyslalia and also shows possibilities how to deal with this kind of disorganised communication abilities. It concers o.s. with searching for the rights logopedic office. In addition to gets acquanted parents with reeducation proces sof dyslalia and conditions important to be respected and focused on by parents. Second part investigates contentment with proces sof logopedic treatment by parents and possible reasons which may influenz dyslalia origin. This isme is enlightened, by speech therapists who clarify thein view of cooperation with parents, children and satisfaction with working conditions.
The Possibilities of Using Musical Activities for Children with Impaired Communication Ability in Kindergarten- in Speech Therapy Class

The bachelor thesis is concerned with communication disorders in preschool aged children and progress their perceptual and motor skills by musical activities. The main aim of the thesis is to create a collection of activities to support the children's skills. The partial aim is to try using the collection in practise during standard kindergarten's operation Theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with speech development, speech disorders, especially dyslalia and delayed speech development. The thesis is also aimed on specifics of preschool age, legislature of preschool education and education of children with special needs. The final chapter writes about musical field and principles of conducting musical activities in kindergarten. To achieve the set target, a qualitative research strategy was chosen. During three weeks of direct observation of preschool group, case studies of the children were created based on the results. The results were used for creating of collection of activities. The created collection was directly applied in practice. The work was evaluated by means of analysis of video recordings, while at the same time were accented its disadvantages and advantages. The collection of activities contains methodical structure, so it can be used in practice of teachers in kindergarten. The material could be appreciated by parents as well and used during practising their children's skills.
Aids in speech therapy of dyslalia

The diploma thesis called "Aids in speech therapy of dyslalia" consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to the general concept of logopedic intervention, dyslalia and all components of logopedic intervention in this impaired communication ability. There is also described the classification of speech aids according to various authors and some selected aids. Views on their use can be different even among the experts. These aids are also included to the practical part, which, through a questionnaire survey, examined the views of clinical logopedists on these aids and their use. Research provides an overview of the use of these aids in the practice of respondents and shows that their view on them varies in some areas. Automatic classification of pronunciation of the letter „R“

This diploma thesis deals with automatic clasification of vowel R. Purpose of this thesis is to made program for detection of pronounciation of speech defects at vowel R in children. In thesis are processed parts as speech creation, speech therapy, dyslalia and subsequently speech signal processing and analysis methods. In the last part is designed software for automatic detection of pronounciation of vowel R. For recognition of pronounciation is used algorithm MFCC for extracting features. This features are subsequently classified by neural network to the group of correct or incorrect pronounciation and is evaluated classification success.

Nino Peterek, Ph.D., Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics Abstract: A goal of this thesis is to design, create and test speech validation method based on current speech recognition algorithms. Resulting software is a speech therapy application for sounds or words training with feedback about pronunciation accuracy. Speech validation is based on CMUSphinx tools and on inaccurate pronunciation generation (using phonetic dictionary). Records with accurate and inaccurate pronunciations has been collected for training and testing purposes. It has been shown, that this design is not appropriate. Thanks to the software design, application can be easily extended by techniques, that could improve validation efficiency.
