The subject of my diploma thesis is the design of a new building "retirement home", a home with a special regime, in the form of project documentation for the construction. The building is partly basement with four above-ground floors and covered by a single-layer flat roof. On the first floor there are common, operational spaces and spaces for commercial use. The other above-ground floors are identical and serve as an accommodation. There is mostly technical background in the basement. The construction system is a wall bi-directional of brick masonry elements, with the exception of basement masonry, which is made of reinforced concrete. The object is based on foundation pads and strips. Ceiling structures are monolithic reinforced concrete. The whole building is insulated by contact insulation and has a ventilated facade.

MACEŠKOVÁ, Eliška
This bachelor thesis deals with the use of selected techniques in working with clients in a home with special regime. The aim of the bachelor 's thesis was to map how employees of homes with special regime use selected techniques in working with seniors with dementia syndrome. This is a topical issue, as the number of people with this disease who require special care is constantly increasing. The bachelor thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on the description of the issue and the definition of important terms based on literature and legislation - dementia, services suitable for seniors with dementia, selected techniques in working with seniors with dementia etc. In the practical part, the work deals with research. The research mapped the use of individual work techniques - basal stimulation, sensory activation, psychobiographical model of care Erwin Böhm in homes with a special regime in the Central Bohemian Region, and this part presents the results achieved in the research. The strategy of qualitative research was chosen for the elaboration of the research in the practical part of this bachelor 's thesis. Within this strategy, the method of questioning was chosen together with the technique of semi-structured interview. Research has shown, for example, that employees use the technique of basal stimulation, sensory activation and the psychobiographical model of care Erwin Böhm in harmony with each other. The results of the research will serve as feedback to the informants involved in the research and as a subject for possible streamlining in work with selected techniques in homes with a special regime.

Total Home: Care and Social Life in Psychiatric Institution
Tichý, Mikuláš ; Abu Ghosh, Yasar (advisor) ; Klepal, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis is based on three months of participant observation in a long-term care facility in 2010 and interviews conducted during next three years. It draws from a perspectives of medical anthropology and anthropology of institutions. The focus is on an ethnography of institution for clients with chronic mental disease, dementia and substance abuse. The thesis is mapping institution's components and actors, their social life and relationships in the institution. The analyses is based upon the concept of total institution by Erving Goffman, and draws from thoughts of Josef Pieper, Martin Buber, Emanuel Lévinas and Michel Foucault. A long-term facility is an institution, which shares clients and some of problems with classical examples of total institutions, but recent reforms aimed to minimalize features of total institutions. Still it does not seem to be a vital institution and new aspects of social situation of staff and clients are recognized. Among new problems is non-existence of therapy for the inhabitants, their marginalization through poor financial situation in an institution, where lot of services are paid and little continuity to other forms of care of more community and ambulant character. Key words: total institution, long-term facility, psychiatric care, medical anthropology,...

Client's life at Special Needs Nursing Home and their activation
Kolářová, Kristýna ; Válková, Monika (advisor) ; Kaňák, Jan (referee)
In my diploma thesis entitled The life of clients of the Home with Special Regime and their activation, I deal with issues related to activation programs for the elderly and their effectiveness. The use of exploratory questions using case studies of clients provides insight into their daily routines and into their leisure time that can be used for activation. The aim of this survey is to seek to expand opportunities to develop current but also future activation. The thesis also looks at the different types of therapies (art therapy, music therapy, drama therapy, etc.) that are suitable for use in a Special Needs Home. The thesis also focuses on activation workers who should be provided with motivation to work with clients. Due to the covid crisis, I was forced to focus only on the Home with Special Regime, within the CSOP of Prague 15. The practical part is devoted to a survey to determine the quality of the current activation and to focus on improving future activation programs. The results of the survey show that the clients of the Home are satisfied with the current activation, although there are some reservations from the respondents, which, thanks to the survey and the answers from the survey questions, showed that there is room to start addressing these inequalities.
