The Element of Randomness and Its Effect
Vášová, Viktorie ; NOVÁK, Vladimír (advisor) ; KROBOT, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis deals with the element of randomness during the rehearsal stage, and with integrating unpredictable impulses which arise from the process into the prepared scope of the performance. This study is a reflection on the author’s own experience during her Bachelor’s degree. It is based on an analysis of specific projects, most importantly, the author’s final performance ADA. We will focus, above all, on the question of how the rehearsal phase is influenced by the type of material that serves as the basis for the process, and whether and to what extent it is possible for unpredictable impulses to influence the result.
Three caves
Hnilička, Jan ; VOSTÁREK, Karel (advisor) ; SCHWARZOVÁ, Kateřina (referee)
For my BA Thesis I chose a creation process of theatre production based on novel Three Cave Mountain by Per Olov Enquist in Dagmar Theatre Studio in Karlovy Vary. I perceived this project as a chance to agglutinate a new group of students of different age and experiences and to offer them opportunities to evolve through theatre work. At the same time it was my goal to create simple and communicatory production with help of means of puppet theatre. In my BA Thesis I describe whole process of genesis of the production from initial conditions, through plans and visions, up to the actual rehearsing and reflection of the resulting theatre piece.
Small / Big Puppets
Strýček, Jan ; BEČKA, Marek (advisor) ; NOVÁK, Vladimír (referee)
This bachelor's work summarises in theory the practical art output of the Animation lesson on the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at The Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. It's aim is to review the creative process of the project from the very beginning to the final result. It has also meant to be a theoretical guidance for the possible candidates to create the puppet performance, based on similar principals. The first part of the work solves the question of the "typical" onlooker of the puppet theatre, a boarder line between the puppet theatre for children and adults and how to deal with it. The middle part solves the question of the problems in the multi-linear story that is conducted by the audience. Furthermore it aims to discover all possible complications, show the existing solutions and search for the reason, why this genre is considered to be minor in the theatre production. The last part solves the question of the theatre rehearsals and focuses on the differences between acting with and without a puppet.
