Emphasis on the prevention of DFU development is essential to care of diabetic patients, and pharmacists can play an important role in achieving this goal, especially in the education of regime measures and glycemic self-monitoring. The aim of this work is to analyze the attitudes of pharmacists in the Czech Republic to the provision of pharmaceutical care for diabetic patients in the field of podiatry. Methods: The data were colected by a questionnaire survey from September 2021 to November 2021. The electronic anonymous questionnaire was distributed by e-mail to members of 4 District Pharmacists' Associations (OSL Kurná Hora, OSL Jičín, OSL Beroun, OSL Mělník) and to members of the closed group Mladí lékárníci via the social network Facebook. Prevention of complications of 2nd type insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus

Bachelor thesis is focused at preventing complications in patients with 2nd type insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The aim of the final work was to determine complications associated with the basic disease, prevention of complications, patient education and awareness about diabetes and regime measures. Research was conducted in outpatient clinics for diabetics and subjects of research were 100 adult patients with 2nd type insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. Research conducted on the basis of a questionnaire survey. The theoretical part focused on basic information about diabetes mellitus in particular classification, diagnosis, treatment, complications, prevention and treatment of disease complications. The practical part was focused on patients with diabetes and activity based on the questionnaire the data were analyzed and graphically processed using tables and graphs. The work showed the results of many research deficiencies in patient awareness and proper education. Many patients do not realize the severity of the disease and the consequences of underestimating the preventive measures. Nutritional status of patients hospitalized for diabetic foot syndrome - retrospective analysis

Diabetic foot syndrome is a serious chronic complication of diabetes mellitus, caused by a number of factors such as neuropathy, angiopathy, infection, and above all, this syndrome is consequence of a poor diabetes compensation and cardiovascular risk factors. It is characterized by particularly impaired wound healing and a higher tendency to chronicity, which can often be a reason for disability of the patient. Nutrition plays a very important role in a patient hospitalized with diabetic foot syndrome, as adequate coverage of energy and nutritional needs is essential for successful treatment and healing of ulcers. The theoretical part of this diploma thesis first mentions diabetes mellitus, its basic characteristics and briefly describes the types of diabetes that are associated with diabetic foot syndrome. Acute and chronic complications of diabetes are also discussed, followed by a more extensive chapter on the diabetic foot syndrome itself. This is the very definition of the term, epidemiology, pathogenesis, classification, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of this syndrome. In my thesis I dealt with the theme of very serious and widespread diseases of civilization posed by diabetes mellitus (diabetes), type 2. Incidence of the disease is considered a pandemic of the 21st century. I focused on macro- and microvascular complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with the description of type 2 diabetes in terms of its origin, course, diagnosis and treatment, including komplkací. In the practical part I am devoted to a survey of diabetic patients in the waiting rooms of several diabetics. Through the questionnaire, I investigated how respondents have access to their disease. Whether they know their blood glucose levels as they are treated, whether they realize the seriousness of their illness if they have already expressed complications of diabetes and how to approach the treatment, if observe regime measures. The respondents' answers, I analyzed and processed using graphs.
The Incidence of Complications in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus

1 Abstract This thesis deals with the occurrence of complications in patients with diabetes mellitus. The aim of this bachelor thesis is determine which acute and chronic complications prevail in relation to gender, type of diabetes and duration of diabetes. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part of the thesis I described themselves diabetes mellitus, types of diabetes mellitus, acute complications and chronic complications. Among the acute complications include hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia. Chronic complications are divided into specific and nonspecific. In the empirical part, I followed the incidence of complications. I realized quantitative research using questionnaires. The questionnaire was own of design. Participated in this research 78 respondents who were acquired in diabetes clinics. I divided respondents into subsequent categories: women with type I diabetes, women with type II diabetes, men with type I diabetes and men with type II diabetes. The thesis results that, overall acute and chronic complications suffered total 41 % of respondents. The most common complication of acute hyperglycemia reported 25.6 % of respondents. Specifics of nursing care for patients with diabetic foot syndrome undergoing larvae Lucilia sericata treatment - from the perspective of the patient

Abstract The bachelor thesis titled Specific Aspect of Nursing Care of Patients with Diabetic Foot Syndrome Undergoing Treatment with Lucilia Sericata Larvae ? From Patients? Perspective is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the historical development of Lucilia sericata larvae in medicine, the present use of larvae in medicine, and the analysis of the standard surgical treatment procedure and the larval therapy. The following section of the theoretical part describes the role of nurses in the standard surgical treatment and the larval therapy. The thesis also analyses diabetes mellitus and its complications, and especially the diabetic foot syndrome. The first objective of the thesis has been to determine how much information patients have about the treatment with Lucilia sericata larvae. The second objective has been to present the specific aspects of the care of patiens undergoing treatment with Lucilia sericata larvae. The third objektive has been to determine patients? needs when undergoing the treatment with Lucilia sericata larvae. The fourth objective has been to find out the awareness of nurses of the procedure of nursing care during the treatment with Lucilia sericata. The last, fifth, objektive has been to Compaq the surgical treatment and the alternative treatment from the perspective of patients. In order to find out the results, four patients and four nurses in the surgical ward at the hospital in Slaný were contacted. The research part includes four case reports and four transcribed interviews with the patients who undewent the treatment with Lucilia sericata larvae. The patients answered the prepared sets of questions in inteeviews. Afterwads, interview with four sisters who work in the surgical ward at the hospital in Slaný were conducted. All the patients included in our research group were satisfied with the alternative treatment with Lucilia sericata larvae, although the outcome of the treament of one of them was not satisfactory. Our research suggests that treament with Lucilia sericata larvae has a positive effect on patients and,in addition,according to the findings, the alternative treatment is cheaper and shorter than the traditional surgical procedure. In practice, the thesis could be used as an information and educational material for the method of treatment with Lucilia sericata larvae for patients as well medical staff.
