Homolková, Simona ; Dvořáková, Petra (advisor) ; Angerová, Yvona (referee)
Thesis abstract Name, Surname: Bc. Simona Homolková Supervisor: Mgr. Petra Dvořáková Thesis Title: Occupational Therapy Practise Guidelines Proposal in Children aged 3-18 years with Developmental Coordination Disorder Abstract: Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) is a neurodevelopmental condition with a prevalence of 6 % among children in the population. The cause of this condition is unknown, but there are known risk factors, such as very low birth weight or maternal exposure to drugs and alcohol during pregnancy. Symptoms include coordination difficulties, impaired motor learning and planning, executive function challenges, and overall mental health vulnerabilities. Each child exhibits different manifestations, and comprehensive care is required, provided by an interprofessional team, which includes occupational therapists. Occupational therapists should base their practice on high-quality care standards. Just like in medicine, there are currently global trends in occupational therapy towards developing Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG), which are still lacking, especially in the field of occupational therapy. CPGs primarily serve to improve and standardize care. The main goal of this work is to create a proposal for clinical practice guidelines in occupational therapy for developmental...

Title: Evaluation of motor skills level of children with clubfoot by the parental questionnaire DCDQ Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis was to evaluate the current level of motor skills of children aged 5 to 15 years with idiopathic clubfoot (IC) using parental questionnaire - The Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ). The work also aimed to detect the prevalence of possible dyspraxia in children with pes equinovarus congenitus in the selected age period. The partial goal of the theoretical part of this thesis was to process the issue of idiopathic clubfoot and developmental coordination disorder. Methods: The brief parent questionnaire DCDQ was used for the needs of the research, 8 non-standardized questions were added to this questionnaire. A total number of 49 responders participated in the study. The data were evaluated using Microsoft Excel and mathematical software R. Results: According to the DCDQ, 26,5 % (n = 13) of the responders were identified as to be at risk of motor difficulties. Compared to the prevalence of motorial disorders in the general population (5 - 6 %), a statistically significant difference was found. The results did not show any statistically significant differences related to sex and laterality. The children with risk of DCD performed the worst...

Diplomová práce Hodnocení vývojové dyspraxie u dětí s vývojovou dysfázií Abstract This thesis focuses on possible incidence of developmental dyspraxia among children with developmental dysphasia. Theoretical part of the study summarizes information about developmental dyspraxia (sometimes also known as developmental coordination disorder). It also describes developmental dysphasia which is predominantly studied in logopaedics and it is less known in physiotherapy. The link between these disorders is the topic of the last chapter of the theoretical part. The aim of the practical part is to evaluate motor skills of children with developmental dysphasia with usage of diagnostic battery Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2. Both foreign and newly published Czech population norms have been used for analysis of the results. In the research, 89 children with average age of 69 months have been examined. The first group included 41 children with developmental dysphasia. For this first group, the control group of 48 children was also set up. The research proved statistically significant difference between motor skills of children with developmental dysphasia in comparison to the control group. This difference has been proven by both Czech and foreign norms. On the other hand difference between motor skills of...

Title: Evaluation of motor skills level in children of the primary education of selected Prague elementary schools Objectives: The main aim of the study was to evaluate current level of motor skills of primary education children of selected Prague elementary schools using standardized assessment battery MABC-2. A partial goal of the study was to compare the level achieved in the MABC-2 test with the data acquired through the questionnaire survey regarding physical activities of participating responders. (n = 134). Methods: A total number of 134 responders (60 girls and 74 boys) aged from 7 to 12 years from two selected Prague elementary schools participated in the research. The level of motor skills of all participants was examined using a standardized assessment battery MABC- 2. The testing was carried out in the form of field research during physical education lessons at selected schools. A questionnaire designed specifically for the purpose of this study, subsequently completed by legal representatives of the responders, was used for the orientation examination of the physical behaviour of the participants. The data from the questionnaire survey was subsequently compared with the level achieved in the MABC-2 test. MS Excel 2010 was used to interpret the results and to process the data...
Diagnosis of developmental dyspraxia in children and adolescents with a focus on the preference of the upper or lower extremities in sport
Helebrantová, Soňa ; Kraus, Josef (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
Diploma thesis "Diagnosis of developmental dyspraxia in children and adolescents with a focus on the preference of the upper or lower extremities in sport" summarizes all available information about etiology, diagnosis and therapy of developmental dyspraxia in the theoretical part. The practical part deals with the use of the diagnostic test Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2, which is designed to identify motor disorders in children. Developmental dyspraxia is very often associated with attention problems so the Test of Attention d2 was used. Difficulty with attention has been confirmed in individuals with impaired physical abilities. There was no significant difference in the overall motor skills between handball players and soccer players. The evaluation of particular components showed significantly better results for girls playing handball in the field of manual dexterity.

Novotná, Eliška ; Kraus, Josef (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
In the theoretical part, the diploma thesis summarizes the findings of developmental dyspraxia or rather developmental coordination disorder and deals with the issue of physical activities in this disorder. One section of the theoretical part are the characteristics of the activities, that probands from the practical part of this thesis regularly do, and their possible use in intervention. The practical part deals with an evaluation of motor skills in young cross-country skiers and in children from movement versatility section of Sokol union. We used the Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2 for evaluation. The next aim is to determine whether the level of motor skills correlates with the level of attention, that we tested using Test od attention d2. The last aim is to determine whether the level of motor skills is different for boys and girls engaged in the same sport. No difference in level of motor skills between cross-country skiers and children from Sokol union was found. However, statistically significant difference between performance in the single components of the test MABC-2 was revealed, this difference was found in the component of balance. The correlation between the level of motor skills and attention was not proved. Neither the difference between the level of motor skills of...

The theoretical part provides an overview of knowledge about the developmental coordination disorder, it mentions the issue with nomenclature and summarizes the options of treatment. It also deals with yoga, especially it's use as a form of therapy for wide range of diagnosis in adults as well as in children population. The aim of the practical part was to find out if there is any improvement in motor and other abilities after group exercising of yoga. Children were examined by Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2 and by selected subtests from Sensory Integration and Praxis test, specifically Postural Praxis, Bilateral Motor Coordination, Postrotary Nystagmus, Manual Form Perception and Localization of Tactile Stimuli. Parents of children filled Short Sensory Profile and Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire. The study demonstrated improvement in MABC-2 test results, specifically in Aiming and Catching and Balance subtests. There was also significant improvement in these subtests of Sensory Integration and Praxis test: Postural Praxis, Bilateral Motor Coordination and Localization of Tactile Stimuli. Both questionnaires did not show any improvement.
