Addressing the Problem of the Accessibility and Financing of Institutional Social Care in Connection with the Anticipated Growth in the Post-Productive Population in the Czech Republic

According to projections from the Czech Statistical Office there will be a significant change in the structure of the population in the Czech Republic in coming years. It is estimated that the share of individuals over 65 years of age will increase by more than 50% by 2025 and by an additional 30% between 2025 and 2050. The aging of the population will be accompanied by a significant increase in the need for social services, especially for individuals over the age of 80, as these make up the majority of clients of in-house social care services. While the Czech Republic is one of the countries with the highest number of residential social care facilities, with respect to demographic development the number of these facilities is insufficient. The de-institutionalization of social care services is an emerging trend that involves efforts to provide maximum social care in the natural home environment of clients; the services provided are focussed on maintaining the standard way of life for clients through the provision of field and outpatient social care. The selected topic captured my interest for two reasons: its topicality and the lack of awareness among the general population, and the need for the expansion of social services due to the growing number of elderly. The aim of the work, with regard to anticipated demographic development, is to draw attention to the issue of accessibility and financing care for seniors who have lost self-sufficiency. I chose quantitative research utilizing the survey method and data analysis for the practical part of the work. The study group is composed of 310 respondents from the areas of Prague, České Budejovice and Trutnov. The data for analysis was taken from Czech Statistic Office data from 2007 for the Prague, South Bohemian and Hradec Králové regions. While the research did not support all of the established hypotheses, the designated goals of the work were fulfilled. This work can be used in professional literature and lectures, and could become the subject of a grant program that would serve to raise awareness among the general population and help spread this research to additional regions.

The target of my diploma work was to find out the topical situation of social services for senior citizens in the town of Decin and utilization of these services by senior citizens.

The Institutionalized Care for Senior People in České Budějovice

Theoretic part try clear up basic processes concerning seniors not only from look their personal life, but also circumstance, which is indirectly work. Further describes print institutional arrangement for seniors. Practical part includes characteristics and juxtaposition 3 elect arrangement: Home for seniors May, home for seniors whistled and home for seniors dead - handed. First aim was charted conditions, behind which several power arrangement offer his services, e.g . capacity arrangement, staffing, activities for seniors aj. Second aim was oriented on inquest opinion clients on administration these services, satisfaction et al. reminder, which would could positively influence quality life clients in these arrangements. Several power arrangement are different time rise, capacity aj. ,have however same endeavour about humanization life his clients. Isn't that imposition only leadership workers, but of all, who offer clients direct care.

Migration in the Středočeský region - the development in the years 2000-2009

The thesis analyzes internal migration in the Středočeský region and its development in 2000 - 2009. Provides a theoretical interpretation of the migration and define the Prague agglomeration important for short-term migration - commuting to work. The second part contains a brief description of the various counties and districts, focusing on factors that might affect migration. Particular attention is paid to the issue of suburbanization, which takes place in the Středočeský region. In conclusion, it is evaluated issues of migration and communicated to the idea of future developments.

Interregional Migration - Position, Development and Specificity of the Capital City of Prague

The diploma thesis deals with migration of human population in the Czech Republic, with a focus on position of the capital city of Prague in the process. The thesis concerns on migration trends among regions of the Czech Republic, and deals with the process of suburbanization within the specific relationship between Prague and districts of the Central Bohemian Region. The subject of my diploma is also internal and external migration of foreigners as a more significant phenomenon in czech society, with the emphasis on Prague as well. The thesis includes evaluation of the basic structural characteristics of inmigrants and outmigrants (migration by age, sex, educational attainment) and also examination of reasons of migration in the area and its consequences with expectations about future trends. There are common used, relative indicators of migration in the thesis. The analysis was carried out in 1994--2007, in some cases in shorter period.

Seniors - demographic, social and regional view

This thesis deals with an analysis of the status of the elderly population in the Czech society in terms of demographic, socio-economic and regional point of view. The demographic part discusses the structural evolution of the Czech population over the time, with emphasis on its senior component. The demographic analysis examines reasons for these structural changes and their current impact. It includes also predictions of the course of the future development. The regional part reflects various differences that exist in populations (both general and elderly) in particular regions of the Czech Republic, and how have these populations changed over the last ten years. The socio-economic perspective includes social and psychological aspects of the conversion to the economically inactive part of life, it takes into account the financial provision and also analyses the offer of social services in terms of financial and regional aspects. The thesis concludes with a summarization of opportunities that are offered by governmental and private subjects for the pursuit of an adequate active life of seniors.

Social and Demographic Analysis of the Tábor District

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá sociální a demografickou analýzou okresu Tábor. Práce je zaměřena na popis jednotlivých sociálních a demografických charakteristik tohoto okresu, na jejich analýzu a časové a místní porovnání, dále také na předpověď jejich vývoje. Postupně se věnuje základním sociálně-ekonomickým charakteristikám okresu s důrazem na základní charakteristiku okresu, jeho osídlení a správní členění a další významné ukazatele týkající se obyvatelstva, průmyslu a služeb, školství, zdravotnictví a infrastruktury okresu Tábor, následně se zabývá demografickou analýzou obyvatelstva a prognózou jejího vývoje, dále sociální strukturou obyvatelstva sledovaného okresu s důrazem na charakteristiky nezaměstnanosti, vzdělání a bytové výstavby. V další části je provedena swot analýza okresu Tábor a hodnocení dopadů sociálního a demografického vývoje na další rozvoj okresu, obsahující formulaci závěrů a doporučení vyplývajících z této analýzy.
