The Subsidiary Churches of Roman Catholic Parish Říčany near Prague

The diploma thesis The Subsidiary Churches of Roman Catholic Parish Říčany u Prahy deals with churches, which currently belongs to the Říčany`s parish, and freely continues in the bachelor thesis The Church of St Peter and St Paul in Říčany. At the beginning, history of the parish is briefly introduced. The thesis is divided into chapters according to individual churches. The development of architecture, chronological description of the interior painting and sculptural decoration and liturgical applied arts, which are located in particular churches, follow after a historical introduction. The churches' most significant treasures include the original rotunda in Kostelec u Křížků, gothic frescoes in Olešky and Kostelec, the painting of Archangel Raphael with young Tobias by Karel Škréta in Kostelec, baroque altar in Tehov a classical tombstone of archbishop Salm-Salm in Kamenice. The biggest contribution of this thesis is the detailed summary, finding of analogies (particularly similarity of gothic presbyteries in Otice and Kunice, baroque reconstruction of churches in Tehov and Kolovraty and baroque altars in Kostelec u Křížků and Kamenice), dating of baroque frescoes in the presbytery of church in Kostelec, finding of provenance of altar in Tehov and elaborating of history of smaller villages (especially of...
Firearms in the Middle East. Beginnings, Production and Use.

This thesis deals with the development of the hand-held firearms in the Middle East with an emphasis on the period from the 15th to the end of the 18th century. In some passages it also marginally mentions the early 19th century. The first part of the thesis concentrates on the development of firearms in a historical context. The focus is primarily on the Ottoman Empire and partially on Egypt. Among other topics it also analyses the practical use of firearms and the related military tactics including the presence of firearms in major battles, as shown on contemporary paintings and miniatures. In the second part the author deals with the technical development of hand-held firearms. This section focuses mostly on the components of firearms and their development. This section also in some degree deals with the artistic aspects of the preserved firearms. The supplements consist of numerous photographs of the preserved exhibits in Czech and foreign collections and also of other visual materials. Greek and Roman traditions in Architecture of Chateau Kačina

The subject of this paper is the study of history of the Kačina Chateau from the point of view of its inspiration from the art and architecture of the ancient world. The introductory chapters were dedicated to the general atmosphere of the time in which the castle was designed and built, the general ideas of the Enlightenment, and also to its relations to Count Chotek. There is an unresolved problem whether its relations to Classical antiquity monuments existed directly, or if they were mediated by other sources. While working on the theme it turned out that the foundation of Kačina Chateau derived from earlier models that were developed during centuries. The work of Marcus Vitruvius Pollio was of substantial importance for all Classicist architecture and especially the architects of the Renaissance knew it very well and used it frequently. For the architecture of Kačina Chateau the most important stimuli were those of Andreas Palladio who transformed earlier patterns according to his own artistic views. One of the following chapters concentrates on the personality of the owner of the estate, the Count Jan Rudolf Chotek, and then on the architects and builders of the castle. Comparison of Villae Rusticae in the Province Pannonia and Province Dalmatia with Regard to the Architectural Typology, Chronology and Regional Location in the 1st - 4th Century and their Further Development in the Early Middle Ages

In this thesis, we examined villae rusticae in the provinces of Dalmatia and Pannonia. The initial chapters focused on ethnicity of indigenous people of the region, the course of the Greek colonization and the establishment of colonies, the history of the numerous military conflicts with the Romans and the final establishing of new provinces. We describe comprehensively the history of the province of Dalmatia and Pannonia province during the four centuries of Roman domination and their further development in late antiquity until the 7th century. The body of thesis is a catalog of selected localities with thorough descriptions of individual buildings villae rusticae. In addition, we paid special attention to the history of their research, architecture and architectural elements, interior and exterior decoration, chronology (1st - 4th century), regional location and agriculture. Necropoleis on the Vatican Hill. The decoration analysis and its paralels Roman art.

The topic of the Diploma thesis is "Necropoleis on the Vatican Hill. The decoration analysis and its parallels in Roman art." The diploma thesis is divided into several parts that are particularly analysed. The first part is focused on the Vatican area layout in ancient world and both ancient and contemporary area layouts are compared. The second part is focused on the analysis of mausoleums along Via Cornelia and their decoration. The thesis tries to find some parallels with the mausoleums in the roman art which proclaim the use of these iconographical materials in other settings and historical backgrounds. The next part describes the necropolis along Via Triumphalis and the most important tombs within the specific sectors. The individual subchapters deal with selected motifs, which meanings intersect the pagan and Christian world. The following part analyzes selected sarcophagi and their decorative motifs. Consequently, both observed contexts are compared. The last part of the thesis provides the dating of several lamps from necropolis along Via Triumphalis. This Bachelor`s thesis is a business plan of the event agency. It consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. Theoretical part is based on theory from books and other re-sources. In theoretical part there are some definitions about entrepreneurship, business plan and some strategic analyses tools. In addition, it includes the history of entrepre-neurship in Kazakhstan. Practical part is focused on creation the business plan. It in-volves some external and internal analyses, marketing strategy and financial plan. Based on this business plan it should be evaluate if the business is profitable or not.
Town halls in Prachatice

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of both town halls in Prachatice. At first The Old Town Hall is introduced. The author is concentrating on circumstances about the town hall formation and especially on its front facade decoration. Appropriate attention is also placed on the known and newly discovered graphical patterns, according to which the motives on The Old Town Hall were created. A chapter regarding the possible author of the building is also included. Barbora Staňková is subsequently concentrating on The New Town Hall, she is giving us a description of this edifice and she is explaining duplication of both town halls. The thesis is ended with comparison of both buildings.
