Learning outcomes of pupils at wind department of Elementary art school from the perspective of Framework educational programme and the pupils´ parents

The thesis deals with the expectations of parents of pupils at wind department of Elementary art school and the learning outcomes set by the Framework Educational Programme for Elementary art education. Author compares the two areas and describes how they differ. The first part deals with the theoretical context of the topic and selected concepts: Elementary art school, Framework educational programme, key competencies, learning outcomes and parental expectations. The second part presents the research of the pupils' results expected by the parents. Gaps and mistakes the parents of pupils see in teaching at Elementary art school are mentioned as well. The research was inspired by the attitude of Jonathan Lilliedahl and Eva Georgii-Hemming and their article Parental expectations of the Swedish municipal school of arts. The thesis analyses the Framework Educational Programme for Elementary art education and discusses its parts concerning the goals, key competencies and especially the learning outcomes of the wind department pupils. The final chapter presents differences between parental expectations and the Framework educational programme.

Physiotherapy of functional disorders of the orofacial area in wind instrument players

Title: Physiotherapy of functional disorders of the orofacial area in wind instrument players Objective: The areas of interest of this diploma thesis are temporomandibular joint (TMJ), wind instrument playing and health problems affecting the orofacial area related to playing of the wind instruments. The aim of this diploma thesis was to determine the current functional state of the orofacial area in wind instrument players and to evaluate the effectiveness of the chosen type of physical therapy. Methods: This experiment-centered pilot study included a total of 21 wind instrument players aged 15-30. After taking anamnestic data, the subjects underwent kinesiological examination focused on the orofacial area. To evaluate the results, a visual analog pain scale (VAS) and examination of the active range of motion of TMJ using a millimeter ruler were used. If the proband experienced any TMJ pain, had a reduced active range of TMJ, or both of the previous, the patient was prescribed an one month autotherapy targeted on the orofacial area. Wind musical instruments of ancient Greece and Rome

This thesis deals with ancient wind musical instruments. It focuses especially on three kinds of them - aulos, syrinx and military musical instruments, where salpinx, lituus and bucina belongs to. Each chapter of this thesis is dedicated to one of these wind instruments and discusses its origin and evolution. It also describes its using in ancient society - during sacral ceremonies, cultural events and in military or private life - this description is based on Greek, Roman end Etruscan iconography and also cites some of the references from ancient authors. Some of these instruments have developed during the ancient times into different shapes - these versions are described in this thesis on the background of iconography and bibliography. In the end of every single chapter there is a selection of the most important preserved samples of the musical instruments or their fragments. These samples, although they often are in poor condition, are clear evidence about the nature of ancient music. Prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among wind instrument players

Title The prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among wind instrument players Objectives The aim of this thesis is to determine the prevalence of playing-related musculoskeletal disorders (PRMD) in players on wind instruments in the Czech Republic, to determine their consequences and to identify related factors. Methods This thesis has the character of a cross-sectional study with a questionnaire survey. The study included 308 players on wind musical instruments. Outcomes The prevalence of PRMD was 55 % for the whole music group and 62 % for professional players. The higher prevalence of PRMD was statistically significantly associated with the student status (p=0.001), female sex (p=0.026), playing time on the dominant instrument weekly (p=0.001), and earlier incidence of PRMD (p=0.000). 31 % of players confirmed wrist/hand problems, 31 % confirmed problems in the neck area and 28 % confirmed problems in the upper back area. Because of PRMD, participants most frequently visited a health specialist such as a physical therapist and when dealing with their difficulties alone, most often they did some kind of physical activity. The work of conductor in section of wind instruments

These bachelor thesis are focused on work of conductor in wind intruments section as a part of symfonic orchestra. Thesis creates complex of important information for work with sections of wind instruments, individual chapters are looked for solution in branch of tuning, balance of sound, instrumentation, acoustics of concert hall together with methodology approach to winds as a whole. First chapter is focused on different systems of tuning and its suitable application in music working. In second chapter is described characteristic of wind instruments and its particularity including acoustic and design attributes. The third chapter is aimed to methodology of winds: tuning, balance of the sound, rhytmical precision, position of musicians at the stage atc. The fourth chapter deals with field of instrumentation and contains examples of its solution. The fifth chapter is written as a reflection on acoustics of concert halls including of balance of the sound.

Analyzes in detail all aspects of breath, refers to any disease associated with
breathing device. It deals with the deployment, creating tones and the proof. To
release the hold tools, attitudes and release breathlessly offers yoga and breathing
exercises.
This work could be a suitable tool for teachers and students woodwind
instruments at elementary art schools and conservatories.

Piccolo - Its Historical Development, Construction, and Use in Solo, Chamber and Orchestral Music

The bachelor's thesis "Picollo. Its Historical Development, Construction and Use in Solo, Chamber and Orchestral Music." is concerned with a picollo, an instrument related to the flute. The first chapter introduces the history of both the flute and the picollo to the reader. It also includes the description of constructional changes of the instruments and their functions from the beginnings until the present day.
In the second chapter, the author focused only on the picollo, its construction and the materials it may be made of (metal, wood). The author also mentioned the significant international producers of picollos and attention was also paid to the maintenance of the instrument. The last chapter examines the possibilities of picollo's use as a solo instrument or as a member of a chamber, symphonic or operatic orchestra.
