Using parts of classical dance in Physiotherapy

The aim of this thesis is to explore the possible use of classic ballet in physiotherapy. It explains the concept of classical ballet, its history and contemporary forms and deals with the contributions that dancing can make to postural stability and control. The possible relation between classical ballet and hypermobility and the psychological and social benefits of dancing are also considered. The thesis presents a case study that describes a set of ballet exercises, its use and the resulting stability improvement in a patient. Finally, a proposal outlining a group therapy session course using components of classical ballet is included.
Dancing and movement programme for seniors with specific needs

Dissertation title: Dancing and movement programme for seniors with specific needs. Dissertation objectives: The aim of the Dissertation is A) within the framework of a prospective study, to assess the dancing therapy influence on mobility, self-sufficiency, cognitive state, consumption of psycho-pharmaceutical drugs, depressiveness and quality of life of seniors in institutions. If a significant positive effect is proven, then B) to create an easy-to-implement dancing and movement programme for seniors in institutions with a special regard to seniors suffering of dementia and wheelchair-bound seniors who account for 60%-70% of inhabitants of old people's homes. Besides this, also to verify its efficiency on the health condition of seniors, improvement of quality of life, reduction of healthcare consumption, as well as on improvement of communication between clients and treatment staff. Method: A) The three-year prospective randomised controlled study made use of the method of quantitative and qualitative research. It was using the technique of analysis of questionnaire surveys (both ex-ante and ex-post) of intervention, comparison of development in the intervened and control groups, making of video records and their analysis, semi-structured interviews. Relaxing and Stimulating Effects of Music and Dance Therapy for Children.

Bachelor thesis of "Relaxing and Stimulating Effects of Music and Dance Therapy of Children" has a theoretical and empirical character. The theoretical part deals with musictherapy, its relevance, its historic look, personality types, music therapist and other kinds of expressive therapies, which are related to music-therapy. The next chapter of the bachelor thesis is focused on relaxation, in conjunction with the relaxing effects of the music, that works on the mental and physical health of a person. The chapter about a stimulation is linked to child's play and stimulation effects of music, which also operates on the mental and physical health of a person. In the last issue of the theoretical part is illustrated in dance therapy, which emphasizes the connectedness assumption of the body and mind. The practical part is focused on experimental investigations related with the application of music-dancetherapy program for discharging children. The results of the investigation have proved the feasibility of the music-dancetherapy program for selected children's groups.
Meaning of dancing therapy in therapy of clients with psychological diseases

Bachelor thesis deals with meaning and effects of Dance therapy in frame of medical therapy of clients with psychical disease. Theoretical part defines words like dance, movement and Dance therapy. This part also describes history of dance, meaning and aims of Dance therapy, its school, aims and divisions. Mensioned are person of dance therapist, personalities connected with dance and Dance therapy, target groups of clients suitable for Dance therapy, importance of Dance therapy for clients with psychical disease. Key question in theoretical part is following: exists subjective positive chase feeling in psychical status by dance therapy? Practical part of bachelor thesis contains four case studies of clients with psychical disease, who take part in Dance therapy in frame of medical action. In every casuistry I try to ask on key question, which I put in theoretical part of my bachelor thesis.
The Importance of Dance in the History and Today

This dissertation covers with exploring the meaning of dance in human life in the history and today. It specialises on dance in the leisure time field and its therapeutic use and describes the evolution of dance since it´s ever been mentioned and its importance to human life at that time. The first part of the dissertation is concentrating on the history of dance in Bohemia and abroad. The chapters chart the time horizon of dance since antics till nowadays. In the highlighted periods of time it tries to elevate the meaning of dance form, which was characteristic for the actual period. The second part of the dissertation focuses on the meaning of dance as a free time activity and concentrates on recent trend {--} belly dance. The last part of the dissertation covers the meaning of dance as a therapeutic instrument in dance movement therapy.
