3D Game World in OpenGL
Buchta, David ; Lysek, Tomáš (referee) ; Milet, Tomáš (advisor)
Focus of this master's thesis is a study of modern techniques in computer graphics and designing and developing custom application based on which could be developed new game engine. In this thesis are highlighted techniques for creating large terrains, advanced shadows, physically based sky rendering and drawing large set of objects. Finally, performance testing of these modules is performed.
Optimized Ray Tracing
Trojan, Martin ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with optimization methods for ray tracing. There are discussed several methods of acceleration structures and method for reducing the complexity of calculating intersection with complex objects. Part of the text also deals with the ray tracing method and the concepts associated with this technique. For the purposes of this thesis have been created application, which is implemented ray tracing algorithm using a uniform grid for optimization.
Collision detection in 3D space
Grulich, Jan ; Matoušek, Radomil (referee) ; Lang, Stanislav (advisor)
Ray Tracing Using k-D Tree
Musil, Petr ; Jošth, Radovan (referee) ; Havel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis describes the design and implementation of an application for picture synthesis using ray tracing. The goal is to verify properties of an space subdivision optimalization method using KD tree. The work compares spatial median, objects median and cost model methods for splitting plane determination during KD-tree construction. Several test scenes are used for evaluation.
Photon Tracing on GPU
Galacz, Roman ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
Subject of this thesis is acceleration of the photon mapping method on a graphic card. The photon mapping is a method for computing almost realistic global illumination of the scene. The computation itself is relatively time-consuming, so the acceleration of it is a hot issue in the field of computer graphics. The photon mapping is described in detail from photon tracing to rendering of the scene. The thesis is then focused on spatial subdivision structures, especially to the uniform grid. The design and the implementation of the application computing the photon mapping on GPU, which is achieved by OpenGL and CUDA interoperability, is described in the next part of the thesis. Lastly, the application is tested properly. The achieved results are reviewed in the conclusion of the thesis.
Fast Ray-Scene Intersection
Stříž, Martin ; Zemčík, Pavel (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
Ray-tracing of 3-D scene is one of the contemporary used rendering methods. Altough it is not a photorealistic method, it produces results with high image quality. Main disadvantage of this method is that it needs a large amount of processing power. That is why various optimalizations must be implemented. This thesis is focused on spatial subdivision optimalizations, namely BSP and KD trees, and their comparsion.
Návrh dělicích prvků v interiéru
Vernerová, Eva
The aim of the thesis is to design a dividing element in the living space, which will be variable and easy to dismount. In the theoretical part of the thesis is mentioned the history and development of the screening, the issue of housing, contemporary trends in the division of space. All this includes market analysis and research. Next is the chapter of basic space requirements - color, zoning and lighting. The practical part of the thesis contains its own design of variants of dividing elements and elaborate final design, including visualizations, placement in residential and office space. The following is a description of the selected materials for production and manufacturing processes, as well as the annexes in the form of technical drawings.
