Koplík, Pavel ; MESSIEREUR, Petr (advisor) ; ŠTRAUS, Ivan (referee)
I was born in simple Moravian village where many traditions from the past still live today. As a violinist, while attending musical school I encountered the living traditions of folklore music. During my studies at the Conservatory in Kromeriz I found with astonishment that much of what I was doing intuitively in folklore music can be traced back to the heritage of early Baroque composers. Some of those important personalities lived in Kromeriz, too. One of them was Biber. His Sonata I was acquainted with - thanks to my professor - impressed me in such a way that I wanted to know more about this excellent violinist and composer. My thanks to the translator of Guido Adler´s study, Mr. Jiří Chrástecký for his excellent and selfless assistance.
