Organic Food Awareness of Grammar School Students
Vaňková, Andrea ; Váchová, Alena (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee)
The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on organic food and ecological agriculture problematics. The primary objective is to point out advantages and disadvantages of organic food and therefore, I mention comparison of organic and conventional food in the thesis. The practical part investigates attitudes and levels of knowledge of students of selected lyceums about organic food. The quantitative research (survey) was conducted at three lyceums in Prague. The statistical methods were used to verify the stated assumptions. While processing the survey I have learned that students struggle with the field of healthy nutrition than with the field of ecological agriculture and therefore, a proposal of healthy nutrition and organic food lecture has been chosen as the pedagogical output of the thesis. A tutoring presentation will focus on students of lyceums and its purpose will be to raise awareness about this problematic.
Economical effectivity of growing of selected crops in organic and conventional agriculture
NEJEDLÁ, Michaela
The diploma thesis compares economical effectiveness of selected crop cultivation (namely winter wheat and oats) in conventional and ecological economic systems during the years 2007 - 2014. Assessment of the economical balance was done through detected data about yield and redemption price. In addition to that, costs of both area and production unit within both mentioned types of farming were determined according to standard technological approaches. The study further deals with crop yields differences analysis within individual farming systems, the costs structure and price differentiations between ecological and conventional production. It also covers the question of the amount of subsidies and its influence on the final crop profitability.

According to the system of farming, it evaluates the use of financial support from the Ministry of Agriculture with the emphasis on the environmental protection and its improvement. It also finds out about the importance of the subsidies for the farmers. Based on the analyses that were carried out it is possible to say that all types of farming companies make use of the subsidy support from the Ministry of Agriculture. The farmers use the Programme for Rural Areas Development to permanently develop the country and improve the environmment. They use mainly the payments for natural disadvantage compensation and for agroenvironmental precautions. The subsidies often form a substantial source of the farming subjects' income.
Environmental aspects of eggs production from point of view of greenhouse gasses emissions
KALKUŠ, Václav
The aim of the study is to compare poultry farming focused on either conventional or organic egg production. Detailed information has been gathered in particular organizations by the means of questionnaires and provided technical literature. We have concentrated on the monitoring of the emission impact on the environment, caused especially by feed material consumption, electricity consumption and farm dung management. Based on the gathered data the emission burden was calculated by the means of Ecoinvent database using CO2 equivalent. We have compared the individual systems of management and evaluated greenhouse gasses production. The main target of the thesis was to find out whether the production of organic eggs has smaller impact on the environment than the conventional one.

Energetical costs and emissions caused by livestock fattening are counted including processing and transport of the final product ? meat. Conventional and organic farming were compared as well as different forms of housing. SIMA Pro software tool was used for obtaining the emission load. The aim of the work was to find which form of livestock raising has the least environmental impact. This work was created in the European Union internatiponal project M00080-EUS-AT-SUKI Sustainable Kitchen focusing on the emission load of substantial links of vertical production chain.
Conversion of farm from conventional to organic farming in submountain areas
MRÁČKOVÁ, Jana
The aim of the Dissertation was to assess conditions and suitability of the specific agricultural farm for conversion. The farm analysed is situated in the highest parts of the Novohradské Hory mountain region, District of Český Krumlov. The altitude of anthropogenic non-stocked forest land oscillates about 850 m above sea level, and covers an area which was included in the border zone of the state border with Austria until recently. The main production programme of the farm is animal production, namely cattle breeding without a market milk production. The SWOT analysis method was used to analyse subjective as well as objective presumptions of suitability of the farm for conversion purposes. It was used to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The results achieved were used for assessment and comparison with information processed in bibliography. The facts revealed indicated that the current state of conventional farming already fully corresponds to the principles and requirements applied in the organic farming systems. At the end it was stated that the farm has the best presumptions for a successful conversion.
