Distributed Processing of IP flow Data

This thesis deals with the subject of distributed processing of IP flow. Main goal is to provide an implementation of a software collector which allows storing and processing huge amount of a network data in particular. There was studied an open-source implementation of a framework for the distributed processing of large data sets called Hadoop, which is based on MapReduce paradigm. There were made some experiments with this system which provided the comparison with the current systems and shown weaknesses of this framework. Based on this knowledge there was created a specification and scheme for an extension of current software collector within this work. In terms of the created scheme there was created an implementation of query framework for formed collector, which is considered as most critical in the field of distributed processing of IP flow data. Results of experiments with created implementation show significant performance growth and ability of linear scalability with some types of queries.
Hierarchical Techniques in Lighting Computation

This master thesis deals with description of hierarchical techniques in global lighting computation. Here is explaining the importance of hierarchical techniques in lighting computation and shows method, how to use these hierarchical techniques in realtime radiosity and its extension to dynamic area lighting. These two techniques are described in detail in the first part of this project. In the other part is desing and implementation of application for dynamic area lighting computation.
The Solution to the Mind-Body Problem in Searle's Philosophy of Mind

This paper studies the mind-body problem in Searle's philosophy of mind. It thoroughly evaluates his criticism of the philosophical tradition and the scientifc methodology. As he argues, the former has been misleading us with its dualistic distinctions and the latter has been pushing us into various forms of reductionism. Most importantly, though, it examines his proposed solution to the mind-body problem, his defnition of consciousness, intentionality, subjectivity, and in addition, his famous "Chinese room" argument disputing claims of strong AI proponents. Although this paper does deal with many of the problems his claims and theories inherently contain, it is primarily meant to outline Searle's view on consciousness and its implications in the context of the mind-body problem tradition, rather than to be an extensive elaboration of his one specifc thesis. Creating number concept up to 100

This diploma thesis deals with third-graders from one of Prague's elementary schools and their understanding of numbers. In addition to the Prodos textbooks, some didactical ideas were taken from the Fraus textbooks, which are aimed at the development of children's understanding mathematics. The experiments were carried out in a classroom and lasted one and a half year. Seven pupils were chosen to take part. The experiments were aimed at gauging their semantic and structural understanding of numbers. The pupils worked individually and were individually interviewed after the experiments. The assumption that pupils use strategies that are not taught in the classroom was confirmed, as well as the fact that the operation of subtraction is much more complicated than addition in mental arithmetic and also in written counting. However, the assumption that the pupils perform better when faced with financial matters as opposed to other situations was not confirmed. It came to light that when creating a verbal task, it is necessary to consider the pupil's understanding of the vocabulary used.
