Plachý, Jiří ; Čížek, Petr (referee) ; Klapka, Milan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with FEM analysis and optimization of carriage for top drive system of drilling rig Bentec 350 AC and it is defined as a development contract for company MND Drilling & Services a.s. Intensive drilling leads to damages and repeated occurrence of fatigue cracks on carriage especially along edges of welded ribs in their heat-affected zone. The aim of this thesis is to draft construction improvements of carriage which leads to elimination of damages. Realization of this modifications depends on correct definition of boundary conditions, analysis of damage occurrence as well as verification of carriage drafts with finite element method.

The Ceremonial Carriages of 17 to 18 century as preserved in the Collections of the Czech Republic
Foltýnová, Marie ; Biegel, Richard (advisor) ; Adamcová, Kateřina (referee) ; Zápalková, Helena (referee)
The aim of this study is to offer a description and evaluation of the ceremonial carriages collections preserved in museums across Bohemia and Moravia, and to put them in the context of European artistic and artisan production in the 16th - 18th century. The study provides an overall account of the development of carriage from technical, as well as art history angle, together with the necessary overview of the issues of courtly hierarchies, ceremonials and visual demonstrations of the modern aristocracy, leading ultimately to the transformation of a simple personal mode of transport into a pompous work of art. Many important Baroque artists took part in carriage construction and decoration, and this study attempts to ascertain the extent of their contribution in this area. By presenting a descriptive summary of the history of the ceremonial carriages found in the collections in Bohemia and Moravia, and providing a comparison study with such carriages from other European countries, we can assert their position within the context of Europe-wide museum collections, as well as provide the opportunity for foreign scholars to take the Czech collections into account in their research.

Odstrčilíková, Tereza ; Pauknerová, Monika (advisor) ; Brodec, Jan (referee)
Topical issues of the regulation of international air carriage The main purpose of this work is to provide its readers with an overview of the many facets of passenger rights in such dynamic area as international air carriage. Development in this area has given rise to issues and challenges, including the overlapping of legal and geographical scopes of different air passenger protection instruments. Over the last decades, several air passenger protection regimes have developed across the world, in particular on international, European Union and national level. But does the patchwork work? The history of multilateral regulation in the field of international air transport with regard to air passenger rights could be said to have begun in 1929 when the Warsaw Convention was originally signed. The importance of the convention lies in unification of the rules concerning the documents of carriage and the liability of air carriers. In 1955 the Warsaw Convention was amended by the Hague Protocol, which substantially redrafted, modernized and simplified rules relating to the documents of carriage as well as doubled the limit of carrier liability with respect to persons. The Warsaw Convention's application was subsequently extended to the carriers actually performing the transport by air when a passenger...
