Design of manufacturing technology of a composite part using out of autoclave prepregs
Tellinger, Adam ; Gregor, Lukáš (referee) ; Kupčák, Radim (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the production of a composite part from prepregs using non-autoclave technology. The first part of the thesis is research of composite materials and composite manufacturing technologies. This is followed by a section that focuses on non-autoclave methods of manufacturing composite parts using prepregs. The practical part includes the design of several prototype production variants of the specified part and subsequent production of the part. The output is an evaluation of the achieved results, a comparison of the various production methods, the selection of a suitable production technology variant, and the creation of a technological guideline for this chosen method of composite part manufacturing.
Manufacturing of a composite part using out of autoclave prepregs
Krátký, Jan ; Gregor, Lukáš (referee) ; Kupčák, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the production of a composite part using out-of-autoclave prepregs. The theoretical part describes composite materials, their properties and different manufacturing technologies with special emphasis on prepregs and the curing process. The practical part includes test specimen design, mould preparation, prepreg placement, lamination and curing. Three laminations were carried out using different technologies. The results show that the surface quality of the composite parts is significantly affected by the mould quality and curing pressure. Atmospheric pressure proved insufficient to achieve the desired surface quality of the moulded parts during vacuum pressing. The main conclusion of the paper is that off-autoclave technologies have the potential to produce high quality composite parts, but require further optimization of processes and materials.
The use of Composite Materials for Bicycle Frames Building
Plundrák, David ; Juliš, Martin (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis summarizes the basic basic information about the manufacture of composites and composite bicycle frame. Included are mechanical, physical and chemical properties. The work includes a comparison of composite materials with other materials and gives an overview of thein use in bicycle industry.
Production of composite materials using vacuum infusion
Ciran, Adam ; Gregor, Lukáš (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with the definition of composite material, then the division of the most used fabric reinforcements and matrices, with a focus on reinforcements made of glass and carbon fiber and flax fiber. It then discusses vacuum infusion techniques, their description and applications. In the practical part, emphasis is placed on the fabrication of specimens using vacuum infusion technology of carbon fiber, glass fiber and flax using an epoxy matrix. The last part is the evaluation of the fabricated samples.
Desigm of the 3D printer for print material with carbon fibers
Chaloupka, Matyáš ; Kočiš, Petr (referee) ; Pavlík, Jan (advisor)
The presented thesis deals with FDM 3D printing method with emphasis on printing carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The aim of this thesis is to engineer the FDM 3D printer designed for printing CFRP and to execute the experiment targeted on comparison of CFRP material properties against commonly used 3D printing plastics such as PLA, ABS, PET etc. The device designed in this work has printing area of 200 x 200 mm with maximum height of the object of 200 mm. The printing bed is heated and the whole device is enclosed. There are two kinds of experiments carried out within the thesis. The first one is focused on tensile strength and Young's modulus of selected materials, while the second experiment compares Charpy's impact strength of specimen with different infill percentage on two selected materials, PET and PET filled with chopped carbon fiber.
Carbon Fiber Formula Student Driveshaft
Bartoška, Vojtěch ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
The work contains summary of possible design solutions of the drive shafts for Formula Student vehicle. Choice of the composite shaft design and its design, including proposal of tripod and bonded joint. Design verification by static and dynamic testing. Comparison of composite drive shafts with steel drive shafts.
Technology of manufacturing of carbon fibre composites by hot forming
Přikryl, Pavel ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the composite materials and especially aims on the carbon and glass fiber composites. It points out different composition types and manufacturing methods which reflect in the different mechanical properties, final quality of the manufactured part and also in the manufacturing time. The practical part includes two particular manufacturing methods using prepregs, one cured in an autoclave and one by hot compression moulding.
Application of composite materials for sport optics
Kupčák, Radim ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
In Its first half this master's thesis describes composite materials with carbon fiber reinforced plastics being the main focus point. An overview of production technologies follows. The major objective of the second part of this master's thesis is to design and manufacture a simplified model of an optical device using prepregs.
Badminton rackets
Kuriál, Jakub ; Doležal, Pavel (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
The fundamental topic of this thesis is the analysis of materials used in the production of sports equipment for badminton. The thesis describes the evolution of materials used in the context of the historical development of the game system. The thesis explains the game principles and the requirements for the technical characteristics of the gaming equipment. The thesis deals primarily with material properties of individual parts of the badminton racket (frame, string bed, wrap) but it also mentions the demands on the ball or the playing surface. In the final section of the thesis the expected development in the sports industry using the acquired knowledge is described. The most likely direction seems to be the area of nanotechnology. The importance of this work lies in the complete discussion of a topic in the field of material sciences which has not been composed yet.
Design of the composite rotor sleeve of a high speed rotary machine
Pavlík, Ondřej ; Ševeček, Oldřich (referee) ; Návrat, Tomáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on manufacturing carbon fiber and epoxy composite material using filament winding method. Material properties of manufactured composite are ap-proximated using analytical and numerical homogenization models. Calculated material properties are applied to design and evaluate reserve factor of retaining sleeve for high speed brushless permanent magnet synchronous motor. Margin of safety of designed rotor is evaluated using composite failure criteria. Test stand for both static and dynamic testing is designed, static test stand is manufactured and assembled. Static strength test is carried out.
