Effects of respiratory muscles training in smokers and nonsmokers
Godara, Vikrant ; Heller, Jan (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Effect of respiratory muscle training on Smokers and Non-smokers The aim of this study is to find out the effect of respiratory muscles training on smokers and non-smokers, and how it affects the pulmonary function. For the measurement different tools were used, such as Spirometry, Spirovis, and Ergometer. All the candidates were between the age of 25-35 years, with no health problems. The 16 candidates were divided into two groups, 8 candidates in the smokers group (the people who smokes), and the other 8 people in the non-smokers group (the people who don't smoke). Both the groups went through the initial examination, then suggested exercises for 14 days regularly and then finally the final examination. For the measurement FEV1, FVC, MEF, PEF, PWC170, VO2 max, Inspiratory and Expiratory pressures were used. For the evaluation Paired T-test, Effect size and common variance were used. As a result, the intervention exercises had a positive effect on both the groups but a little more on the smokers as compared with the other group. But there was not a significant result in some of the tests. Therefore, a bigger research on this topic should be done. Key words - FEV1, FVC, MEF, PEF, PWC170, VO2 max, Inspiratory and Expiratory pressures Spirometry, Spirovis, Ergometer, Breathing exercises, Paired...
The impact of intervention breathing programme on breathing economy during increasing load
POUL, Daniel
Breathing is essential part of our life. Breathing exercise can help acquirement of proper breathing. Thanks to this process, sports performance can be improved. The aim of our work is to determine differences in values and compare results of spiroergometric parameters from testing on a bicycle ergometer in the laboratory of functional load diagnostics. We obtained the results by an entrance test and a final test tested after eight weeks. Between testing, selected individuals performed a respiratory intervention program. Nine performance university athletes, especially focused on football, got involved in our research. Data at the rest position and load were crucial. We focused on dynamic ventilation parameters such as tidal volume, respiratory rate, minute ventilation or oxygen consumption. In the output test, we also recorded changes in values in the respiratory segments, abdominal, thoracic and subclavian areas. We verified the results from the point of view of material and statistical significances. Both of these significances were evaluated in this thesis. The materially and statistically significant differences in the results of measurement were improved in the oxygen consumption by our probands. The studied probands were able to improve in various phases of load, for example, the material significance was detected at the respiratory rate during the load of three watts per kilogram. Ascertained results were not improved in all monitored parameters. The most significant changes were discovered in the three-watt load during the respiratory rate from 32,8 +- 7,2 to 30,9 +- 5,1 breaths per minute. Probands reduced oxygen consumption by 14.8 percent.

Title: Tibetan curing system of Kum Nye and the possibilities of its application Objectives: The aim of this work is to present a comprehensive view of the Tibetan healing system called Kum Nye. The first part introduces Buddhism as the general basis of Kum Nye, some other basic spiritual principles, the historical background of Kum Nye, and the relationships between these three bases of Kum Nye. The aim of the second part is to explain the therapeutic effect of the system and to present ways of its practice, which are specially modified for the mentality and the way of life of Western society by the Tibetan lama Targhang Tulku. This part is enriched by the author's personal experience from a course of Kum Nye. The concluding part of the work sums up the salient aspects of Kum Nye, presents possibilities for its use, critically evaluates the therapeutic effects and limitations of the system, and makes suggestions for further research. Keywords: Buddhism, breathing exercises, emotions, Kum Nye, stress
The effect of the intervention program, breathing exercises on the selected value, and the wind spirometry stereotype
OBRDLÍKOVÁ, Zuzana
This thesis deals with functioning of breathing system, concretely by breathing stereotype and lung's capacities. The aim was to find out if an intervention program of breathing exercises has a positive influence on breathing stereotype and increase of vital capacity and strenuous exhale VC. For stereotype checkup was used muscular dynametr, capacities were measured by spirometry. 34 probands take part in the study, 18 of them were control sample and 16 probands were participated in intervention. They were athlets in the age 15,94 +/- 1,95 years, runner to medium and long distance. Probands undertook an entrance checkup, the intervention program, and when the intervetion was finished, there was an output measurment.

Examination of respiratory disorders stereotypes and their effects on the musculoskeletal system PF JU students aged 19 to 25 years
MAREŠ, Martin
The main task of this thesis was an examination of breathing stereotypes on selected students of Pedagogical faculty aged from 19 to 25. The other objective was to develop an intervention programme according to which the selected students participated in six weeks lasting workouts that were focused on breath training with consecutive heightening of their physical efficiency. A method of content analysis was used for analysing literature and a method of content synthesis was used for application of gathered information and for creating the intervention programme. For the examination of breathing stereotypes a muscle dynamometer was used which is able to record a movement dynamics and simultaneously to record a breathing activity dynamics. The vital capacity was measured through a forced expiratory vital capacity (FVC) when also a value of one second exhale was recorded (FEV1). This test was performed in standing upright position on the machine Spirometr Otthon, evaluation was processed in the Thorsoft programme. The study was participated by six students who at first passed out an entrance examination where the main values were defined, then the intervention programme and after the end of it the participants underwent a checking (output) examination. During processing of the thesis it was confirmed that the developed intervention programme, which is based on aerobic exercises and completed with resistance training, has a factual and statistical significant effect on strengthening the respiratory muscles which are activated by the diaphragmatic breathing within resting breathing and deepened breathing. For the determination of the substantive significance the Cohen's d was used, then the paired Student´s t test for dependent samples.
Speech education of a free time educationist - the vocal cords, a work tool
PRAŽÁKOVÁ, Magda
Speech education of a free time educationist the vocal cords, a work tool. The work concerns with the anatomy of speaking organs, genesis and evolution of the voice and its properties. It deals with defects of voice, in terms of functional and organic. The voice education is divided into the individual components respiratory, vocal (phonetic) and articulatory. In the context of prevention of voice defects it emphasizes the voice hygiene, not only in teaching of the correct voice techniques, but t also in recovery after the voice organs diseases. An important part of this thesis are games and exercises for pedagogy of leisure time, where we can find illustrative and detailed examplex of not only relaxing games such as a rag doll or a worm, but also the breathing exercises for relaxation of the body and the achievement of correct breathing (e.g. drawing with the blowing through a straw or various stretching exercises). Therefore it may be a source of inspiration not only for a person potentially interested in a voice training, but also for educationists of free time.
Analyze of Mental Condition Changes as a Result of Yoga Breathing Exercises at adolescent
STRNADOVÁ, Simona
In my bachelor thesis I deal with the influence of yogic breathing exercises on changes in mental state of adolescents. The aim of this work is to determine whether it is possible to optimize the mental state of adolescents only on the basis of conscious breathing; if deep breathing can be used to eliminate tension and stress. Just to adolescents in today's hedonistic, hectic, bustling age it is laid down a lot of pressure in all aspects. By the intervention program the adolescents are encouraged to be able to use the acquired skills in their daily lives. The research part contains the results of measurement monitored by the device Biofeedback Schulfried and mental state changes using standardized questionnaires STAI. In the final discussion I analyze the results of the study using graphs and tables. It was found that by the influence of breathing exercises the psyche has been harmonized and respiratory rate decreased. The obtained results can be used in health promotion and prevention.
Benefits and Effects of Integral Yoga Breathing Exercises at Asthmatics
KŘESŤAN, Tomáš
In my bachelor thesis I deal with advantages of Integral Yoga respiratory exercises for asthmatics. In the theoretical part was a literary compilation of available sources releated to the topic in progress. The theme is very extensive and I tried to select important informations. The research section describes methodology of searching. The method of Válková (2000) Projective techniques of incomplete sentences is used. There is also used a questionnaire of our own design (Krejčí, Křesťan, 2010). Based on the research the intervention program was compiled, its full version is published in the appendix. After intervention program was held again the questionnaire. In the results is a comparation of input and output reactions of participants. Participants had also opportunity to open statements. On the base of intervention program the frequency of asthma symptoms decreased. Yoga respiratory exercises should be recommended to all asthmatics.
