Unconventional heat cycles
Snášel, Jan ; Košner, Jan (referee) ; Jedelský, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is describing four unconventional heat cycles and devices which are using them. It is Stirling cycle, organic-Rankine cycle, Kalina cycle and Brayton cycle. The cycles are described in terms of the main parts of their devices and in terms of their thermomechanical principle. In thesis are also stated applications for each cycle and their advantages and disadvantages. There are also stated formulas for the ideal cases of cycles to calculate specific work done, specific input heat flow and efficiency of cycle.
Combined heat and power generation
Hlaváč, Ivan ; Zálešák, Martin (referee) ; Klimeš, Lubomír (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the power generation by means of a combined gas-steam cycle. In the first part of the work, an overview and description of the combined cycle as well as of the Brayton cycle and the Rankine cycle are provided. The second part of the work focuses in the thermal analysis of the cycles. As a part of the work, a computer program was created, which allows for such thermal analysis of the combined cycle.
Uses of two-shaft combustion turbine for cases serial and parallel arrangement
Minář, Luděk ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
Master thesis deals with analysis of characteristic points of two-shaft combustion turbine cycle for two different concepts of turbine’s arrangement. Computational model is compiled within the thesis for serial and parallel arrangement. Thermodynamic magnitudes of characteristic points of cycle are calculated with the computational model for designed operating point. Initial values of the computational model are chosen in consideration of reaching compromise between maximal thermal efficiency and maximal specific power.
Expansion Turbine
Hlavinka, Miloslav ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The content of this bachelor thesis is the analysys of a problem of expansion turbines and their usage in the gas-steam cycle. In the first part the respective parts of the combided cycle are described, Brayton cycle and Rankine-Clausius cycle. The gas-steam cycle is discribed subsequently. In the second part the natural gas is briefly described and how it gets to us. There is described the conventional natural gas reduction station and the conventional process steam reduction station. The main part is a description of the expansion turbine, division of turbines, caluclation of efficiency and a description of steam and natural gas expansion turbine. Then there is a describtion of the steam-gas heating plant Červený mlýn and its parts. As an example of the economic evaluation the replacement of conventional reduction station at heating plant Červený mlýn by expansion turbine is shown.
Preparation of Operating Gas Turbine Combustion
Trtík, Jan ; Tvrdík, Josef (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
Master thesis is concerned with gas turbines from Siemens company. The thesis consists of two main parts. In the first part describes the different types of turbines, their characteristics and use in practice. The following is a detailed description of components and systems the biggest industrial gas turbine SGT-800. The second part discusses about the necessary steps for commissioning turbine. These particulars are managing software, testing, commissioning and phasing of the turbine generator to the distribution network. The conclusion is devoted to the example of calculating return investment on the overall gas turbine project.
Heat exchanger design for closed gas turbine cycle
Sklenář, Oldřich ; Bogdálek, Jan (referee) ; Šen, Hugo (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with determination of parameters of an experimental high temperature gas-cooled nuclear reactor cycle and a project of a regenerative heat exchanger designed to this cycle. The first part is dedicated to thermal cycles. This part includes an actual summary of high temperature reactors, an analysis of their cycles, a theory of closed gas turbine cycle and a calculation of elected cycle. The second part concerns a review of heat exchangers and gas coolers used for nuclear energy purposes and heat transfer theory. The main objective of this part is a calculation of heat exchanger from the conceptual, thermal, hydraulic and strength point of view including inclusion of analysis of this solution.
Heat engines for waste heat utilization
Macháček, Pavel ; Lízal, František (referee) ; Jedelský, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with heat cycles for waste heat utilization and their comparison. The first part describes particular heat cycles, their basic modifications and working principle, their advantages and disadvantages and typical applications. The second part is dedicated to technical parameters and creating of idealized models of those cycles on the basis of gained data. The comparison of the cycles is also done.
