Phenomenon of Music. Music in context of fundamental motives of Heidegger's early thinking
Výravský, Vojtěch ; Benyovszky, Ladislav (advisor) ; Novotný, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis is an attempt to put the topic of music into context of Martin Heidegger's early and partially middle thinking. It proceeds mainly from two impulses: firstly from Heidegger's claim of overcoming the aesthetical, i.e. the metaphysical conception of the work of art, secondly from the big question mark above the empty space through which is the music in Heidegger's penetrating thinking of the essence of art present. In the first part the thesis shows reasons, why is Heidegger calling for the overcoming of the aesthetics, and tries to show the hidden assumptions in which the aesthetics always moves and which darken the original attitude to the work of art which means also to the music. We shows mainly three of them: the scheme of subject and object, the scheme of form and matter and approaching the work of art as an object (Gegenstand) of presentation (Vorstellung). In the second part of the thesis we are attempting to overcoming this schemes through the way of phenomenological revealing of the essential structures of music. An important clue to this is the phenomenon of touch. This leads to the comprehension of music as the manner of "Being-in-the-world" which is constituted by three moments: attunement (Stimmung), understanding and discourse (Rede). Thus shows music itself as an...

Boredom as a sociological problem
Hochmuthová, Terézia ; Maršálek, Jan (advisor) ; Balon, Jan (referee)
Contemporary society perceives boredom largely as a normal part of everyday life. Nevertheless, academic discourse has not come to an agreement on its interpretation. The researchers differ on two main points: first, whether boredom is universal or historically developed phenomenon, and second, whether it is an individual or the external conditions, who is more responsible for the emergence of boredom. This paper reflects on these conceptual difficulties and attempts to elude them by suggesting an alternative, sociologically relevant approach. A new sociological concept of the phenomenon is introduced, based on Martin Heidegger's conceptualization of boredom. Boredom is thereby understood as a specific way, in which individual relates to his/her social environment and its objects. In order to avoid epistemological dilemmas resulting from an imbalanced account, which puts too much emphasis either on subject or its environment, the concept situates boredom's origin and actuation onto the level where subject and its environment meet. The theoretical part of the text is followed by an empirical one, which uses the concept to interpret a specific segment of tourism: organized holidays. This particular model, constructed and offered by travel agencies as a complex product, is understood here as an...
Heidegger's concept of attunements, moods and emotions. Boredom as a specific attunement of the Dasein
Čermák, Marek ; Benyovszky, Ladislav (advisor) ; Novotný, Jaroslav (referee)
This master's thesis addresses the problem of moods and attunements in Heidegger's famous conceptualization which falls into the 1st half of 20th century and which he introduced in his phenomenology, understood as fundamental ontology. This thesis follows "being attuned" in terms of its essential characteristics and with the emphasis on its full meaning, in terms of existential analytics of man as Dasein. The objective of this thesis is to show, in which sense is "being attuned" grasped as the essential way of being of the Dasein in the midst of beings as a whole, and how is this "being attuned", as this essential way of being, made manifest, or how it may manifest itself to us the possibilities and limits of the Dasein understood as "being here" (Da-sein). In terms of particular moods and attunements, the thesis follows mainly the motif of fear and anxiety and is seeking to create an understanding of profound boredom as the fundamental attunement of the Dasein and its connectedness with the temporal character of the essence of the Dasein. Key words: Dasein, attunement, anxiety, fear, boredom Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
