Cloud-Based Data Access Control
Chovanec, Erik ; Malina, Lukáš (referee) ; Hajný, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with problematic of cloud storage. The goal of this thesis is the implementation of cloud storage, that will be able to provide the required functionality. These functionalities are access control of multiple users, group rights, long-term file archiving, secure data transmission to cloud storage, protection of data integrity and confidentiality during transmission and storage. For achieving this goal, there is an evaluation of suitability using public cloud providers. Based on this evaluation, there was a conclusion, that these services are not suitable for storing highly sensitive data. Next is an evaluation of advantages associated with using software that is licensed under a free or open-source software license. Even though there are high start-up costs on infrastructure and there is a necessity to make a huge effort to run custom infrastructure with cloud storage, it is a much better option. Especially if it will be used for storing sensitive data. The following chapter describes an extensive analysis of existing open-source and free-software solutions. In the final part of this chapter, the application Nextcloud has been selected since it provides the most of required functionalities. The thesis also contains an installation of Nextcloud and shows its main functions. There are basic load tests, which are telling us about the efficiency of successfully dealing with parallel requests. In the last section of this thesis, we are dealing with the implementation of missing functionality in Nextcloud. This functionality is necessary to achieve our goal, which is long term archiving of files. This term means functionality that will enable the possibility to archive files with evidence about preservation integrity and confidentiality of archived files during a long period of their existence. This part of the thesis contains a theoretical design that aims to accomplish this goal. Description of the implementation follows after theoretical design. This functionality is implemented in form of a dedicated system. Archiving of files is triggered by a modified application, used in the Nextcloud server. This process will create a copy of the file to be archived on a separate hard drive. It will obtain evidence about integrity when storing the file and it will strengthen this evidence by obtaining a new one in regular periods. This happens on yearly basis. The quality of cryptographic protocols can degrade after a long period. This concept is trying to prevent this phenomenon.
Secure data archiving using cloud computing
Šulič, Martin ; Sikora, Marek (referee) ; Člupek, Vlastimil (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on detailed analysis of possibilities of implementing a private cloud and secure data archiving for a long period of time using open-source tools. It describes the individual standards and processes of data preparation, as well as the OAIS reference model for long-term preservation. From the analyzed information, a complete design of the final solution is created, with a description of the functionality and the method of deployment in the environment of Docker containers. The design implementation and the main functionality of individual systems such as Archivematica or Nextcloud are thoroughly described and also the hardware requirements and cryptographic security were evaluated.
Data Backup and Storage
Cabalka, Ondřej ; Veškrna, Josef (referee) ; Kříž, Jiří (advisor)
This work highlights the frequently overlooked importace of corporate data and their protection. It introduces the backup process as an essential element of safety and efficiency of information systém. The work is both basic and advanced backup mothods suitable for small and medium enterprises, depending on their needs and budget.
Storage media for data archiving
Šicner, Jakub ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Lambertová, Petra (advisor)
This dissertation explains the problem of archiving data based on the media used. Different information carriers and their properties are described in relation with their construction and read and write methods. Depending on write method on individual medium, this part is divided into two main areas. Last part deals with architecture of redundant arrays of independent disks and their standard levels. According to principles of the independent disk array activity, the properties as well as advantages and disadvantages of specific level are discussed.
Design of an electronic document management system
Mlčáková, Kristýna ; Míšek, Jakub (referee) ; Loutocký, Pavel (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with the problematics of the electronic documents, especially in the area of their archiving. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The analysis of the electronic document position in the Czech legal environment is a significant and essential part of the thesis. The analysis is included in the theoretical part of the thesis. Based on the theoretical knowledge, we created an application for the electronic document management system, which is the subject of the practical part of the bachelor's thesis. The application itself represents a repository in the accordance with § 562 paragraph 2 of the Civil Code.
Corporate Data Management and Backup Design
Batelková, Andrea ; Ing.Jiří Hradil (referee) ; Kříž, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the current process of corporate data management and central data backup design at STAVOPROGRES BRNO spol. s r.o. Thesis offers options for changes to make process more optimal. Thesis points to the solution of a central data backup in which all created data will be backed up automatically. Thesis also describes theoretical resources and other options to manage data inside the company.
Data Backup and Data Storages
Budz, Patrik ; Kováč, Filip (referee) ; Kříž, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor thesis on Data Backup and Data Warehouse is focused on ways of backing up data and its practical use in a detailed proposal for BPM Sport s.r.o., which deals with the sale of sport accessories. At the beginning of the thesis are presented the theoretical starting points related to this issue, namely the analysis of backup and archiving, analysis of carriers for backup and archiving. The second part deals with the analysis of the current state of backup in the chosen company. Synthesis occurs in the following chapters, there are several ways to solve the current state of backup in the company based on the findings. The last chapter - the discussion, contains the evaluation of the results and the determination of the concrete solution.
Data Backup and Data Storages
Chytková, Markéta ; Kindlová, Dita (referee) ; Kříž, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the problem of data backup in the company FOUL s.r.o., which offers football items. Bachelor thesis consists of three main parts, which are the theoretical basis, the analysis of the current state and the solution design. The output of this thesis is the design of a more efficient solution for data backup.
Využití laserového skenování k dokumentaci současného stavu dřevěné zvonice
Němec, František
This bachelor thesis deals with the use of laser scanning technology to document historical buildings. Its aim is to create a 3D model, floor plans and vertical sections for the needs of the National Heritage Institute and the township of Knínice. The thesis describes the procedure for using laser scanning, all the necessary tasks that must be performed before the actual scanning, as well as the method of subsequent processing of the scanned data and creating the model in the software chosen for this purpose. The result of the work is a digital 3D model of a wooden belfry, floor plans and vertical sections showing the position of individual elements in the structure and a technical description of the object. These results can be used for archiving this historical cultural monument, its possible future reconstruction or even restoration.
Strengthened by Sirens
Nikitina, Pavla ; Horáková, Jana (referee) ; Medek, Tomáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis "Hardened by Sirens" focuses on telling stories through sculptural realisation. These stories are taken from the new phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war that started in 2022. I created the sculptures based on 3D scans as a reportage of events caused by the war. In my work, I followed up on an earlier sculptural project-study entitled "5 Minutes", which was created in 2019 in the context of my bachelor’s studies at FFA BUT. The sub-heading to the study read "3D war reportage ". In the textual part of the master’s thesis, I also focus on the concept of 3D reportage and the various possibilities it offers me as an artist working on the border of the genre of reportage and social documentary.
