Steel Load-bearing Structure of a Car Showroom and Repair Centre
Thomanková, Lucie ; Buchta, Stanislav (referee) ; Bajer, Miroslav (advisor)
Diploma thesis includes design and examination of steel load-carrying structure. Construction includes car deal warehouse and car repair shop with extension for car varnishing. Car deal warehouse has ground dimensions 22 x 30 m and total high 10 m. Main frame is composed of Vierendeel trusses with arc shape. Car repair shop has ground dimensions 20 x 30 m and total high 10 m. Main frame is composed of truss girders and web-plate columns. Frame extension has ground dimension 20 x 10 m and total high 6,4 m. Cladding is composed of sandwich panels. Store´s gable wall and a part of the roof are glass. Climatic load is intended for locality Ostrava.
Plan curved arch footbridge
Trenz, Jan ; Romportl, Tomáš (referee) ; Stráský, Jiří (advisor)
The scope of thesis is to design a curved arch footbridge. The main structure consists of composite deck supported by steel arch. The focus is on finding optimal shape of arch and proper cross-sections of elements. Bridge is analysed according to limit states.
Footbridge in Nova Karolina in Ostrava
Havelka, Jiří ; Nečesal, Petr (referee) ; Marván, David (advisor)
The topic of the master’s thesis is a design of steel structure of footbridge. Footbridge goes across the roadways and railway. It is a design of a new structure in Nová Karolina in Ostrava. Span of footbridge is 200m. The footbridge’s superstructure is two steel arches angled toward each other and fixed to the foundation blocks. The supporting beam of the bridge deck is connected to the arch by tie-rods. The deck beam is a welded box section. The tie-rods are arranged to the V-shaped system. Deck of footpath is semi through type and orthotropic. The arches are connected at the top by lateral bracing. Lateral bracing is Saint Andrew's Cross type system.
The Municipal Baths
Škůrek, Josef ; Šamalík, Zdeněk (referee) ; Ruller, Ivan (advisor)
Treated area is situated in a part of Stare Brno (between the Voronez hotel and Svratka river). The area is intersected by the delivery tracks (leading to the fair area). This tracks markedly influence the concept of the groundplan design of the project (especially in the southwest part). The volume of the baths respect the streetline of Rybarska street and Porici street and formally finishes the block row of these streets.
The Roofing of the Sport Hall
Müller, Radek ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
In my project I dealt with a proposal pool roof in the town of Brno. As the main construction material was used glued laminated wood. For affiliate structure was used steel and solid wood. Construction has a span of approximately 40 meters, length 60 meters and a height about 11.5 meters. For a given type of structure and for aesthetic and ergonomic reasons, decided to design a curved beam of glued laminated timber supported by a pillar of glued laminated timber. End of the cantilever beam is supported by a steel column.
The Architectural and Engineering Research of the Building Construction
Slavětínský, Šimon ; Heřmánková, Věra (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the diagnostic survey of the arch railway bridge, which is situated in city called Hulín at the Railroad between Kojetín – Valašské Meziříčí in 16,019 kilometer. The thesis contains description of construction and technological survey and diagnostic methods, which includes evaluation of essential characteristics of masonry structures. The practical part contains processing of diagnostic survey. Its result is determination of material characteristics of the structure.
Exhibition Pavilion in Třinec
Toman, Tomáš ; Barnat, Jan (referee) ; Pilgr, Milan (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with the design of load carrying steel structure of Exhibition pavilion in Třinec. Pavilion is of rectangular shape with dimensions 36 x 42 m , and the main load carrying structure in the transverse direction is double pinned parabolic arch, with height of 15 m. Lateral stability is achieved by bracing systems, and stability in the transverse direction, is achieved by the arch itself. The whole design is done according to relevant ČSN EN standards.
GARCH models and R
Jánoš, Andrej ; Bašta, Milan (advisor) ; Hejdová, Martina (referee)
The work is devoted to the concept of volatility and the basic models of volatility ARCH and GARCH. Firstly, volatility, properties of volatility, general structure of the models and historical volatility is described. Then the ARCH and GARCH volatility models are introduced and their properties, estimation methods and the possibility of implementation of these models in modeling and forecasting volatility are discussed. A substantial part of this work is a detailed application of the described models to some particular time series (both simulated and real) using the R program. We analyze the real data capturing the evolution of Prague stock index PX. The key aspect of the work is to provide enough theoretical knowledge and practical skills for a reader to fully understand the mentioned models and to be able to apply them in practise.
The spline GARCH model for unconditional volatility and its global macroeconomic causes
Engle, Robert F. ; Rangel, Jose Gonzalo
This paper proposes modeling equity volatilities as a combination of macroeconomic effects and time series dynamics. High frequency return volatility is specified to be the product of a slow moving deterministic component, represented by an exponential spline, and a unit GARCH. This deterministic component is the unconditional volatility, which is then estimated for nearly 50 countries over various sample periods of daily data.

Models of inflation and its volatility in CZ
Bisová, Sára ; Hušek, Roman (advisor) ; Pelikán, Jan (referee)
This paper focuses on analysing and modelling inflation and its dynamics in Czech Republic applying a special kind of econometric models. Firstly economic theory of inflation is mentioned - fundamental terms, measuring methods of inflation, the way Czech national bank is monitoring the inflation and obviously a short summary of historical evolution of inflation in Czech economy. In the second part of this paper two econometric concepts of modelling time series are introduced - vector autoregression models (VAR models) and volatility models, concretely ARCH and GARCH models. In connection with the VAR models, Granger causality, impulse response functions, cointegration and error correction models are described. The empirical part includes application of selected models on real time series of chosen macroeconomic indicators. The estimation outputs are interpreted and forecasts are implemented. The quality of chosen econometric models for modelling inflation in Czech Republic is discussed.
