Cultural activities of the Lebanese minority in the Czech Republic and its integration

The focus of this paper is set on the issue of integration through the possibility of the state financing the cultural activities of these third world nationals and answers the question, whether this form of integration is prioritised by the state. The aim of this thesis is to present and analyse the social and cultural activities of Lebanese citizens permanently residing in Czech Republic. and henceforth examines the representation of Lebanese culture and history through the endeavours of associated non-profit clubs and societies. In the next section, the thesis concentrates on an organisation led by Lebanese citizens, the Lebanese Club of Czech Republic. In this segment, the paper scrutinizes and evaluates the association's significance and its general efficacy in the bridging of differences between the two cultures, a prerequisite for successful integration of minorities. The concluding section assembles the acquired information and formulates possible advancements for the future functioning of the society itself, as well as potential sources for the financing of its projects.
Intercultural aspects of nonverbal communication

The aim of this thesis is to describe nonverbal communication, especially the intercultural aspects which influence it. The thesis is divided into six chapters. In the first part of the thesis, the terms such as communication, culture and intercultural communication are defined. In the next chapters the thesis focuses on differentiation of universal features of nonverbal communication and of the culturally dependant features of noneverbal communication. Comparison of Arabic and Japanese nonverbal behaviour follows. The last part contains a research proposal, in which the effect of an intercultural training on the quality of communication would be inquired.
The influence of mentality, culture and political situation of selected Arab countries on their economic situation.

This thesis follows up the description of selected Arab countries, their cultures, political situation and finally their economic situation. The aim is to demonstrate, if culture and political situation of the country have an impact on its economic situation. Egypt, Libya, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia are examined in this thesis. The political development is emphasized in the first three countries mentioned above. It is mainly due to recent revolutionary events in the Arab world. The thesis deals with cultural specifics in the Saudi Arabia section. The last chapter focuses on the graphical analysis of economic indicators.
