Design of control unit for an autonomous vehicle
Vobruba, Martin ; Formánek, Martin (referee) ; Adámek, Roman (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is designing control unit for an autonomous vehicle. The new ECU replaces the old one which was without access to the source code, so its functionality couldn’t be modified. The purpose of the ECU is to receive a message from the control computer, process it, control the actuators according to the orders and inform the computer about their current state. The first part of the thesis is research of the vehicle kinematics and CAN bus. The practical part focuses on the analysis of the previous ECU which is crucial to its replacement. It is followed by the firmware and hardware design. The last practical part of the thesis is the testing of the new ECU’s functionality.
Topological optimisation of the turbocharger electric actuator bracket
Směšný, Jan ; Kudláček, Petr (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
Topology optimization utilizes mathematical methods to develop the most efficient components in terms of mechanical properties and weight. Nowadays, it is a commonly used tool for designing components not only in the automotive, aerospace, and space industries. This work deals with the topological optimization of a metal bracket used to attach an electric actuator to a turbocharger. The turbocharger assembly is subjected to external influences, the most significant of which are vibrations from the engine. The program Ansys Workbench was used for modal and topology optimization calculations. The goal of the optimization was to minimize weight and maximize the natural frequency. The optimization takes into account a simple manufacturing method using conventional techniques (shearing & bending), which will remain the same for the optimized component. Additional care is taken to ensure, that the natural frequency of the bracket-actuator system is above the excitation frequency from the engine. The final optimization revealed that by appropriately removing material, the component's weight can be reduced by 22% without significantly degrading its dynamic properties.
Computational modeling and utilization analysis of materials with shape memory for applications in the field of mechatronic actuators
Ševčík, Roman ; Skalka, Petr (referee) ; Ševeček, Oldřich (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with a computational modeling of shape memory materials and their applications in actuators. The recherche part of the thesis describes the basic principles of function of the shape memory materials, different possibilities of their utilization, their modeling and also principles of designing actuators using these materials. The next chapter deals with a creation of the computational model in SW Ansys, testing of this model and its subsequent use for modeling of the chosen actuator. The next step is the testing of the selected actuator model under different conditions of its computational analysis. The last chapter describes a general method and approach for the modeling of shape memory materials in SW Ansys, recommended settings of the computational analysis and application potential of the chosen actuator.
Magnetostrictive materials for mechatronics
Rusková, Miroslava ; Kovář, Jiří (referee) ; Hadaš, Zdeněk (advisor)
The aim of this work is to outline and use or application of magnetostrictive materials and possibilities of mathematical modeling their behavior. Magnetostrictive is the physical character of the material, occurs in the most ferromagnetic materials and leads to many effects. Magnetostrictive materials are more often used to in various branches of engineering.
Measurement of complicated shape parts using image processing
Sujová, Sára ; Březina, Michal (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of wear measurement of the pinion gear of the REA actuator used in the regulation of the turbocharger wastegate system. The first theoretical part of the thesis describes the topics of wastegates, actuators, gears and optical methods. In the second part, a pinion measurement method is implemented using a digital microscope and an application to measure the width of the pinion tooth thickness designed in the MATLAB environment.
Exoskeleton design
Štancl, Jan ; Lázna, Tomáš (referee) ; Kopečný, Lukáš (advisor)
The bachelor paper „Exoskeleton design“ deals with development of prosthetic exoskeleton of index finger. The exoskeleton is for patient who lost the distal and middle articles of the index finger. The exoskeleton consist of three articles. Distal and middle articles are powered by one linear actuator, proximal article is passive. The articles are mechanically connected to each other. The rotary potenciometer senses the bend angle at the MP joint, which corresponds to the desired position of the exoskeleton. Feedback is provided by optic gate that senses the engine revolutions.
Structural design of testing facility for actuator stroke and force measurement
Zatloukal, Tomáš ; Vaněk, František (referee) ; Horák, Marek (advisor)
The bachelor thesis examines the design of testing facility for heat switch. It focuses mainly on the construction, but it does not omit the necessary measuring equipment, measuring procedures and other specifications. The first part describes the requirements for the development of experimental facility. The next part deals with the selection of position sensor and force sensor, which includes an extensive study of possibilities. The following section deals with the automatically controlled heating system and temperature measurement, lists the necessary parameters of components, and proposes their implementation. The final part of the thesis describes how to achieve to the structural design of the testing facility. There are also strength analyses and measurement procedures for pressure and tensile testing.

Daňko, Matúš ; Brožek, Petr (referee) ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor)
Cieľom tejto práce bolo vytvorenie prehľadu o momentálne najpoužívanejších metódach aktívneho riadenia prúdu a ich aplikácii. Práca taktiež obsahuje stručný historický prehľad z vývoja metód riadenia prúdu spoločne so stručným porovnaním jednotlivých metód.
Sensorless velocity control and positions of d.c. low-power brush motor
Svoboda, Jan ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Prajzner, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on sensorless control of low load brushed DC motor that is used in the actuators made by the Honeywell company. The first part provides an introduction into motor control and common used methods of speed and position sensing of brushed DC motor. Sensorless method of sensing described in this work is the detection of commutation pulses from the signal of motor current. These pulses are caused by brushes leaping over the commutator bars. Correct evaluation of commutation pulses can provide the information about velocity and position of the motor. This relatively new method of detection of commutation pulses is investigated and arising problems are demonstrated on measured samples of signal. Suitable methods of signal processing are then proposed. Infallibility of these signal processing methods is then proved on the set of signals measured under circumstances of supply voltage and abrasion. Then it is decided which signal processing method that sensorless control system can use is the best.
Aircraft Flight Controls Actuator - Modeling and Control
Kolář, Bohumil ; Kopečný, Lukáš (referee) ; Pohl, Lukáš (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compile and control the actuator model, which approximates the behavior of a real actuator under load. The work describes individual types of actuators and their properties. The mathematical model of the actuator is also described. This model consists of a motor and a load. The mathematical model is applied in the Simulink environment where a control structure was designed and added. The work also describes the construction of the real actuator and its subsequent testing in the ControlDesk. The results of the individual test are in the form of step responses.
