Relations of the EU with Montenegro and with Albania and Their Development in the Period from the Montenegro's independence to the end of 2007

This thesis deals with the transformation of the relations between the European Union and Montenegro and between the European Union and Albania. Due to the effort of the EU to create programs that help the whole region of post-Yugoslavian republics, which are not the EU members, the thesis also takes into consideration the other countries in Western Balkans. The thesis aims to describe mainly the period of years 2006-2017 but there are also chapters which monitor the development in parts of the region during the 1990s. The thesis studies official reports of the institutions of the European Union, primarily the Progress Reports by the European Commission. Beside other things the thesis describes the method of accessing a country to the EU and explains the process of accession negotiations with the candidate member countries. The thesis monitors the amendments to the Albanian and Montenegrin laws. These changes were made based on the recommendations of the European Union with a view of aligning with the laws of the member states of the EU.

The position of the governments of Gerhard Schröder on Turkey's accession to the European Union

The following thesis deals with the pro-Turkish policy of red-green coalition in Germany during 1998-2005, which represented a turning point in German Turkish policy, because it did not follow the anti-Turkish policy of Helmut Kohl. Also today it represents an unique policy - nor the current Chancellor Angela Merkel initially followed it, whose image of Europe is incompatible with the membership of Turkey in the European Union. Based on an analysis of the most important debates held in the Bundestag under the red- green coalition government, where was discussed the Turkish question, the thesis tries to answer the question why the government of Gerhard Schroeder/Joseph Fischer supported Turkey's accession to the EU. It concludes that in the speech acts of individual government officials and MPs of the governing parties intermingled both strategic arguments and arguments corresponding with the classic postwar milieu shaping strategy that aims to influence the milieu beyond the borders of the national state. Strategic arguments gained in importance due to three international events that shook the world during the governments of Schroeder/Fischer and which tightened the active Turkish policy. Integration of the Visegrad Group Countries into the EU and NATO. Cooperation or Individual Approach?

Graduation thesis tries to explore, if the Visegrad Group Countries, i.e. the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia cooperated together during their effort to acces the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the European Union. The thesis is divided into four parts. First part analyses the first steps of Visegrad Cooperation, second part describes the integration process into NATO. The third part is related to the integration with EU. The last part of the thesis sketches the continuation of Visegrad cooperation after accession into EU in 2004. The theory of international regimes was chosen as a theoretical approach to Visegrad Cooperation. The thesis desribes the course of integration process and different forms of cooperation.

Analysis of the economic and political situation in Croatia in relation to the entry into the EU

This diploma thesis deals with Croatia, the newest member of the European Union. Within the theoretical foundations it focuses on the European integration, describes the development of the European Union and introduces the entry conditions for the candidate countries, it also characterizes the basic macroeconomic concepts, which are being used further in the work. The second part of this work presents the long journey of Croatia towards European membership, with a focus on problem areas of the accession negotiations. The main part of the work is an analysis of the economic and political situation, firstly in the period before and then after the country's accession to the EU. After that the changes which this event represents for Croatia and the European Union are evaluated. Finally, an evaluation of the country's preparedness for potential entry into the euro area is submitted along with the arguments for and against the adoption of the single currency.

More than twenty years after the independence declaration, Republic of Croatia is facing the second biggest step in its history- entry to the European Union. European Union, the world's trade leader, has recognized Croatia as a reliable partner in the future affairs. Croatia shall become a 28th member of the integration on July 1st, 2013. Croatia has experienced many obstacles on the path to the European Union, trying to align its system with the EU's comprehensive legislation. The aim of this thesis is therefore to provide an extensive analysis of the Croatian path to the European Union and to apply the solutions on the further development not only of Croatia but also the remaining candidate countries of the European Union.

Accession of Croatia to the EU

This bachelor thesis focuses on the changes in Croatia during the 21 years of their independence which led to accession of Croatia to the EU and presents the country as a 28th member of EU. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter explains the political development of Croatia since 1991 till today. The second one is focused on the economic development of the country. The final chapter concentrates itself on the accession negotiations of Croatia with EU, and describes the most important disputes which made the negotiations so slow. This bachleor thesis provides an answer to question if the Croatia is ready to be a new member of EU.

Vývoj, současnost a pespektivy Bulharska a jeho postavení v EU

This thesis elaborates the character of Bulgarian Republic development over last years in the view of current situation, which is remarkably influenced by the global financial and economic crisis. The core of this thesis is to map the difficult path for Bulgaria's membership in the European Union, its entry into these structures and the subsequent development during the first 3 years of membership. Finally, I review the present position of Bulgaria in the EU and evaluate the overall benefits for Bulgaria joining the European Union and whether the country was able to complete the necessary reforms and deliver on promises, which it made before the accession to the Union.

Turkey and the European Union

The purpose of the following thesis is evaluation of relation evolution between Turkey and European Union. Thesis is divided into four main chapters in logical subsequent order. First chapter covers the historical and economic issues from the foundation of turkish republic up to the present. Second part deals with the development description of relations between the Turkey and the Union since the fifties when the first integration attempts took place. In 1995 these attempts became real when the customs union has been set and resulted in an initiation of accession negotiations during 2005. Third chapter is dedicated to the present problems connected with Turkey accession, particularly one so called "EU absorption capacity". Last section contains opinion stands of selected member countries, both from the political elites point of view as well as the output from the public opinion polls amongst EU and Turkey citizens.

Accession process of Turkey to The European Union

The bachelor thesis focuses on the process of Turkey's preparations for possible accession to The European Union and puts emphasis on the current situation. The first chapter explains the economic development of Turkey since 2004 till today and mentions events that caused the accession negotiations to open. The second part of the thesis concentrates on the negotiations itself, illustrates arrangements Turkey has made and describes whether it meets the requirements of The European Commission regarding the implementation of acquis. The paper also provides an overview of the dissimilarities between Turkey and The EU which result in considerable obstacles to the progress of the negotiations.
