Maghreb countries in the world economy: problems and perspectives

The Maghreb is a geostrategic region which attracts the attention of world powers. However the potential of its growth is limited by numerous problems. The aim of the master thesis is to analyze the position of Maghreb countries in the world economy and the perspectives of their future development. The first chapter concentrates on the economic facts of Maghreb countries with emphasis on their problems, including the preliminary reflections of impacts of the Arab spring on individual economies. The second chapter presents the external economic relations of Maghreb countries on three levels: inside the region, in the Euro-Mediterranean area and in the global dimension. The third chapter deals with the perspectives of Maghreb economies and the possibilities of reaching them. It evaluates the existing success of integration efforts in the region, in the Euro-Mediterranean area, but also the cooperation throughout the world economy.
US-China Economic and Political Relations in the 21st century

The intention of the bachelor thesis is to review bilateral economic and political relations between two majour economic superpowers, from the early development until the presence. The greatest emphasis is placed on the analysis of the macroeconomic variables such as GDP, inflation, unemployment and foreign direct investment. An important part of the thesis is to evaluate the positive and negative aspects of mutual relations and to offer solutions over disputed issues. Moreover, this work has the ambition to promote author's opinions over the future of the mutual development.
Turkey's integration into the world economy

The objective of this thesis is to describe the Republic of Turkey as a part of the world economy. Bachelor thesis focuses on Turkey's accession to the European union (EU), participation in the world international organizations and in the world trade. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part describes Turkey generally, the second part concentrates on economic situation of Turkey and the third part analyses the main objectives. At the conclusion are outlined aspects of Turkey's accession to the EU, global position and the possible future development.
Selected aspects of the impact of China on the world economy

With the growth of Chinese economy and its integration into international trade, China's influence on world economy as a whole has been growing too. At current growth rates, China would even have the potential to become the world's absolute power in the future. The aim of this thesis is to describe and evaluate the manner and extent of the impact of China's behavior in international trade, Chinese energetics and an undervaluation of Chinese yuan on the world economy. The world economy has a variety of economic subjects, to each of these subjects there are different implications of Chinese influence.
Position of the selected East African countries in the world economy and prospects of their future development

This thesis deals with the position of the selected countries of East Africa in the world economy and prospects of their future development. The first chapter provides basic information about Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda. The second chapter belongs to the most important ones and deals with the historical context. The third part adds some information about the UN approach to the events in this territory. The fourth chapter is devoted to foreign policy orientation. The next two chapters are the most significant ones: the fifth part deals with development of economy and current economic situation, the sixth part discusses foreign trade. The last chapter provides an outlook for the future of these African countries.
Development of the common European currency and its comparison with US dollar

The thesis is based on the historical background of realisation of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) in Europe which has led to the introduction of a single currency: the euro. Subsequent comparison of the euro-dollar deals with their particular roles in selected segments of the global economy and tries to put these facts into context. The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of the current tendency and predict possible future development of the position of the world currency.
Differentiation-increase in differences between advanced and developing countries

The bachelor thesis "Differentiation - increase in differences between advanced and developing countries" focuses on the increasing differences between the two main segments of world economy, namely between advanced economies on the one hand and developing on the other hand. This differentiation will be justified, evidenced and accompanied by concrete facts, symptoms and tendencies. The goal of this thesis is to analyse the principal aspects of this theme, i.e. to define participants, symptoms, causes and consequences of the given phenomenon and eventual future development. Furthermore to compare relations between advanced and developing countries in mid-twentieth century and today whereas emphasis is especially placed on the changing position of developing countries within last twenty years, and to describe the role of dynamic developing countries in the present world economy and their present and future relation with advanced countries. The structure of thesis will be divided into seven main chapters and them respective subchapters which comprise key segments of given problems.

The world financial crises, their courses and a comparison with the current situation.

This bachelor work is concerned with a broad issue of financial crisis. In the first instance it analyzes the causes of currency crises, describes their exteriorities, development and the most frequent impacts to afflicted economies on the theoretic level. The basic types of financial crises and their trends are defined. The next part of this work characterizes the International Monetary Fund and the Federal Reserve System -- the institutions playing an important role in the worldwide economic system. The third part illustrates the anatomy of the Mexican debt crisis of 1994--1995, and also the currency crisis in South and South-East Asia (1997--1998) with respect to the role of IMF. Finally, the Argentinian crisis (2001--2002) is dealt with. The next chapter explores the causes of the American mortgage crisis, its exteriorities, development and the following worldwide consequences. This work also remembers the Czech bank crisis and implies the connections between the current crisis and the Czech economic situation. The work concludes with a chapter pointing out the difficulties in financial crises prediction, and analyzing the possible precautionary measures.
