New Technologies in Education

TITLE: The influence of technology on the children's free time development AUTHOR: Ivana Kalinová DEPARTMENT: Department of information technology and education SUPERVISOR: Ing. Bořivoj Brdička, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This bachelor's thesis "The influence of technology on the children's leisure time development" deals with the influence of information and communication technologies on the way of spending leisure time of children and youth. The work includes a comparison of several studies dealing with this issue. The thesis is also considering potential impact of ICT on the development of children, particularly in connection with playing computer games and engaging in social networking. The practical part contains survey conducted in primary school children aged 7-15 years followed by interpretation of results. Use of the educational robotics kits in education at primary and secondary schools
Tocháček, Daniel
The aim of the final work is to describe implementation of educational technology in to the teaching process. It focuses on the use of specific teaching resources - educational robotics kits - for teaching at primary and secondary schools. The final work is aimed at two parts - on the theoretical level, when dealing with areas of robotics, educational robotics, constructionism and constructivism and at the practical level through the detailed characteristics of available resources and methods of use of educational robotics kits in education. Both views on the issue reflects formal arrangement of final work on theoretical and practical (empirical) part. Theoretical part is mainly based on information sources and primary and secondary resources, which were subjected to detailed analysis. The practical (empirical) part is based on the author's educational activities - undertaken work with specific material instruments used in the context of continuously held educational robotics projects and courses, as well as the application of empirical qualitative methods, including experimental model of teaching and longer-term verification methodologies and teaching strategies used in the field of educational robotics. TITLE: The technological support of the Storytelling teaching method AUTHOR: Jan Bouchner DEPARTMENT: Department of information technology and technical education SUPERVISOR: Ing. Bořivoj Brdička, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The subject of this dissertation is the use of digital technologies to support storytelling in the classroom. This thesis aims to introduce storytelling as an innovative method based on the principles of modern pedagogy, especially social constructivism, and determine the role of this methodology in the current curriculum. Another objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of methods and activities of digital storytelling including the examples of hardware and software instruments. Their value for practical use in digital storytelling was verified. The analysis of scientific literature was used in the theoretical part of this study. The work also includes the description of two cases of implementation and a description of their realization. In the conclusion the recommendations for the use of digital storytelling in practice are formulated. KEYWORDS: storytelling, methodology, constructivism, designing, educational technology
