Electronic torque wrench
Juřík, Dominik ; Kubík, Michal (referee) ; Mazůrek, Ivan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the construction of a modification for a torque wrench for electronic recording of tightening torque and angle. In practice, the recording of the tightening process is managed using electronic torque wrenches. However, these wrenches are often very expensive, and their use for verifying the reliability of various screw joints would be highly impractical. This is due to the large differences in the required tightening torques for screws of different sizes. This problem has been addressed in this work by constructing an adapter for electronic recording of tightening. The measurement and recording of the tightening torque are enabled by using strain gauges, which are attached to an extension rod. An angular velocity sensor (an electronic gyroscope) is used to determine the tightening angle. Signals from the sensors are transmitted to an analyzer from Dewetron via a connector on this adapter. After initial calibration, this device can be connected via a square drive to any length of wrench without the need for further calibration. Based on the experiment conducted, it can be stated that this device is correctly designed. This device will be used in the Technical Diagnostics Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology.
Realization of educational problem based on preloaded bolted joint apparatus
Žaba, Tomáš ; Náhlík, Luboš (referee) ; Vaverka, Michal (advisor)
In the master’s thesis an educational task concerning an experimental apparatus for quantity measurement in preloaded bolted joint is realised. In terms of its preparation an innovation of the apparatus leading to an easier and faster pretension realisation was implemented. The educational task for students and also teaching material were produced. The educational task itself consists in experimental confirmation of the relation between the tightening torque and the caused pretension. An FEM model simulating an apparatus flange deformation by given pretension was designed to verify the experiment. The thesis also contains information about the preloaded bolts, pretension elicitation methods and pretension control methods.
Retrofit Steam Condensing Turbine
Holečková, Michaela ; Novotný, Zdeněk (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this master thesis is the retrofit of a condensing steam turbine. The thesis obtains a revision of the steam turbine, the reconstruction of steam turbine blades and the basic calculation of bolt torques of the turbine split plane. The master thesis is assigned to a specific retrofit of the steam turbine Lang. In the introductory part the thesis is focused on the turbine description and the basic functions of selected turbine components. The following part deals with the revision and the proposal of repairs for all components and the recommendation of additional modernizations of specific measuring equipments. The analysis of anchoring the stator and rotor blading and their reconstruction is discussed in the next part. In the last part the thesis focuses on the sealing of the turbine split plane and the calculation of the various bolt torques closely linked to the sealing.
Design of an apparatus for axial forces determination in screw connections
Lečbych, Jiří ; Frýza, Josef (referee) ; Svoboda, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of the device for measuring axial forces in bolted joints. The first part of the thesis is focused on the research of the current state of knowledge of screw connections, force transducers and methods for deriving prestress including their control. Then, three conceptual solutions that fulfilled the assignment of the thesis were created based on the research. The final design that most closely corresponds to reality is described in detail including its advantages and possible measurement inaccuracies. The final 3D design was made into a drawing documentation.
Draft bolting torque in plastic components
Piňos, Matěj ; Svoboda, Petr (referee) ; Dvořáček, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is dealing with problem of screw connections in plastic components. There are universally described screw connections, threads of tapping screws, issue of prestressed bolt connections and ways to make pretension. Knowledge was applied to specific bolt connection (which is in production) to verify the assembly method. The examined connection was put to the destructive test and the test which explores pressure marks on the plastic components. Results were numerically processed and statistically evaluated. The accuracy of current tightening tools was verified too.
Repair of the turbine housing
Jelínek, Tomáš ; Novotný, Zdeněk (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the repair of a steam backpressure single-stage turbine. This thesis is assigned to a specific Spilling turbine case. A revisional report of this turbine with repair or exchange suggestions of demaged turbine parts is processed. In addition, a simulation of the contact pressure is carried out on the split plane of the housing. Structural modifications are designed and simulated to increase the parting plane's tightness. Further, the calculation of the tightening torque of the split plane is performed and a control thermodynamic and strength calculation of the labyrinth seals is performed.
