Turkish Immigration in France in the Context of French Immigration Policy
Millionová, Pavlína ; Matějka, Ondřej (advisor) ; Aslan, Emil (referee)
The thesis Turkish Immigration in France in the Context of French Immigration Policy analyses the influx of Turkish immigration into the French state. It covers the period from the 1960s to the present. In the 1960s immigrants from Turkey started entering France as guest workers and after a while they were joined by chain immigrants and asylum seekers. All the stages of immigration are discussed in the text one by one and they are examined as a phenomenon that has been heavily influenced by French immigration policy. The rate and form of the influence of French immigration policy constitutes the main aim of the paper. It also introduces the conditions in Turkey that have led people to emigrate. The paper addresses the common linkages between each stage in the immigration process and the subsequent development from one stage into the next. It is argued that such an interconnection limits the influence of French immigration policy to significantly reduce, or even halt, the immigration process. On the other hand where it does not influence the amount of immigrants in total, it affects immigration in the way immigrants from Turkey enter France. It also modifies the composition of immigrants and their status in the host country. The target of the paper is to place the issue of Turkish immigration into...

Asylum policy of Germany (FGR) since reunification
Rynešová, Lenka ; Šauer, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Dubský, Zbyněk (referee)
Germany was, is and will be an immigration country. We talk about an asylum policy since the reunification of Germany in 1990. Germany needed immigrants during the whole 21st century, on the other hand struggled with fear of their negative impacts on the economy and society. One hundred and thirty years since the recruitment of seasonal workers from abroad in the German Empire and 50 years from the recruitment of Turkish guest workers undoubtedly indicates a good (and necessary) time to create a more effective immigration and asylum policy. The integration of foreigners, especially Turks, is nowadays the main goal. As the social climate of German society has never been characterized by diversity, the main task of current German government is to create an opened German society towards foreigners and their integration.
Comparison of attitudes of Germany to a minority issue (by way of the examples of Turks in Germany and German minority in Upper Silesia)
Hanuš, Tomáš ; Dubský, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Veselý, Zdeněk (referee)
Since 1950s when the first influx of cheap labour force appeared the social situation changed rapidly. The original labour force managed to get over the denial of the majority society and administrative obstacles and turned into a permanent part, but not part and parcel of the German society. The German government trying to support economic growth decided to use foreign labour force as a less dangerous option for the future. The second option was to allow the admission of foreign capital investments. However, the project which should have been controlled by the migration policy and should enable the foreign workers to satisfy the demand of the German labour market has not met the expectations.
