Assessing ecosystem services and the alternatives of their future development in UNESCO Biosphere Reserves
Harmáčková, Veronika Zuzana ; Vačkářová, Davina Elena (advisor) ; Cudlínová, Eva (referee) ; Pechanec, Vilém (referee)
The provision of ecosystem services within social-ecological systems is influenced by multiple environmental and anthropogenic driving forces, affecting natural ecosystems. At the same time, the capacity of ecosystems to concurrently provide different types of ecosystem services is inherently limited. Thus, ecosystem changes and their effect on ecosystem services have direct implications for human existence and well-being. The aim of this thesis is to present a modelling approach to assess regulating, provisioning and cultural ecosystem services and to quantify their potential trade-offs, illustrated by two case studies carried out in selected UNESCO Biosphere Reserves in the Czech Republic, Třeboň Basin Biosphere Reserve and Šumava Biosphere Reserve. Both of the selected case study areas are characterized by high levels of natural and cultural assets and challenges regarding future landscape management. In this study, first the social-ecological dynamics within the study areas was analysed by creating participative scenarios through collaboration with local stakeholders, eliciting their preferences regarding future landscape development to 2050. Second, the impact of the scenarios on ecosystem services and their trade-offs were assessed using a combination of spatially explicit models and...
Kontrukce lokálních objemových tabulek pro borovici lesní na LS Třeboň
Dvořák, Daniel
The purpose of this thesis is to create volume tables for Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) in Forest Service Třeboň which is an organizational unit of Lesy České republiky, s.p. (state enterprise). Data for this paper were gathered from more than 250 trees that were measured in the field. DendroScanner program that can be used to form volume tables based on tree photographs combined with data measured in the field was used for this analysis (non-destructive method). According to the Czech forest ecosystem classification system, data were measured in six sets of forest types (SLT) and laser range-finder was used alongside other mechanic tools on the majority of Forest Service area. The accuracy of the data was verified by comparing it to a control set of lying trees (destructive method). The results of this paper are volume tables merged together for five SLT (supplemented by three additional tables) and independent tables designed for a 0M type. These tables are specified by a significantly higher stock of timber in comparison to traditional ones made by ÚLT.

SRNEC KARLOVSKÁ, Jana
This bachelor thesis on the theme of Rural tourism in the Třeboň region maps Třeboňsko as a tourist destination and analyzes the situation in selected municipalities of Chlum u Třeboně and Staňkov by the form of a case study. In the theoretical part key terms such as rural space, rural tourism and its forms are defined. It describes the regional context of the model municipalities and describes their history and present, especially in terms of tourism. The practical part summarizes the empirical survey based on interviews with selected businessmen and the results of the questionnaire between residents and tourists. Finally, the sustainability of rural tourism in these municipalities is assessed.

Factors influencing the ecological stability of the Novozamecky rybnik Reserve
Hanzelka, Jan ; Reif, Jiří (referee) ; Čihař, Martin (advisor)
Fishponds and their surroundings are affected by many factors disrupting their ecological stability. In this thesis, influences of selected factors are evaluated. Particularly it is discussed excessive overgrowing of shoreline by plants, pond siltation by allochthonous material from catchment area, eutrophication process and intensive fish farming. It is presented the impact of these factors on local avifauna in Novozámecký fishpond National Nature Reserve and Special Protection Area and compared with Třeboňsko Special Protection Area. Birds use the ponds especially as nesting habitat and food source. Therefore, it is necessary to describe the influences disrupting this habitat. The frugal interference with mentioned processes is needed in terms of dynamics of the ecological stability. Thereby the requested fishpond parameters and ecological and economic values will be maintained. Fisheries management and lack of historical management in the form of reasonably performing mowing and grazing in the vicinity of the ponds has the greatest impact on the habitat of birds upon Třeboň fishponds. Novozámecký pond also suffers from the lack of historical management, but the unsatisfactory state of the pond is rather due to the overall eutrophication of the environment.

Invasive alien plants in Trebonsko region
Volfová, Barbora ; Vardarman, Johana (advisor) ; Naděžda, Naděžda (referee)
The Bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of invasive plant species. Following invasive plant species were mapped in the South Bohemian region of Třeboň: Canadian goldenrod (Solidago canadensis), Giant goldenrod (Solidago gigantea), Bohemian knotweed (Reynoutria x bohemica), Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica), Sakhalin knotweed (Reynoutria sachalinensis) and Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera). The goal of this thesis was to map the above-mentioned species in one part of Stropnice Site of Community Importance and its surroundings. Furthermore, the thesis also aimed to record the most frequently colonized biotopes according to the invaded locations. The results show that Canadian goldenrod colonized seventeen locations and therefore it is one of the most invasive species. Next, Himalayan balsam was found in seven locations and Japanese knotweed in five locations. Last, Bohemian knotweed and giant goldenrod each colonized only one location. In this area, such species most often invade biotopes affected by people and locations near water resources. The plants also grow mostly in wet localities.
Invasive alien plants in Trebonsko region
Vaněčková, Kateřina ; Vardarman, Johana (advisor) ; Justová, Helena (referee)
This thesis focuses on the issue of invasive plant species around the Stropnice Special Area of Conservation located in the region of Třeboň. The aim of this thesis was to map following invasive plant species: Canadian goldenrod (Solidago canadensis), Giant goldenrod (Solidago gigantea), Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica), Sakhalin knotweed (Reynoutria sachalinensis), Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera) and Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum). The locations of the above-mentioned species were mapped using GPS. The data were then digitized and map outputs were created using the ArcGIS 10.2.2 program. These outputs identified the expansion of the invasive plant species. The results showed that giant hogweed is not located in the mapped area, but the other mapped invasive plant species were found there. These species most often invaded the biotope of mesic Arrhenatherum meadows (T1.1), followed by tall-sedge beds (M1.7) and anthropogenic areas with sporadic vegetation outside human settlements (X6). The problem of invasive plant species can be solved by their removal and by educating the general public about the risks these plants pose.

BUMERL, Jiří
The presented work deals with the evaluation of the Mesolithic and Neolithic settlement in a specific area of the northern part of the Českobudějovicko region, which covres the northwest part of the Třeboň basin from a geographical point of view. The work brings information from already known as well as newly registered sites in a given spatial settings and also in the context of natural environment. For these purposes, the method of surface collections, resources review and evaluation of the results using GIS have been applied.
