Audio synthesizer in FPGA chip
Tomko, Jakub ; Pristach, Marián (referee) ; Bohrn, Marek (advisor)
This thesis analyses methods of sound synthesis. Advantages and disadvantages of application of individual methods in music synthetizers are evaluated. Based on piano sound analysis, the suitable method for synthesizer's design is chosen. Synthesizer has been implemented in FPGA of Spartan-3 Development Board.
Logic analyzer module based on PCIe card
Juřík, Tomáš ; Macho, Tomáš (referee) ; Valach, Soběslav (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to implement simple FPGA-based logic analyzer connected to PCI-Express bus. Furthermore four counters are implemented to generate testing dataset. This thesis describes a fundamental priciple and use of logic analyzer. An overview of Spartan-3 PCI Express Starter Kit development board and Xilinx Spartan-3 field-programmable gate array anrchitecture is given. Stages of logic analyzer development are detailed as well.
Mass storage device for FPGAs
Horyna, Miroslav ; Bohrn, Marek (referee) ; Pristach, Marián (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with mass storage devices for FPGAs Spartan-3. There is described the principle of communication with a memory card using communication protocols. The proposal for extension module for development board Xilinx Spartan-3 Starter Kit board and block program description for the FPGA device are presented.
Design and realization of mathematical operations in FPGA circuits
Soukup, Luděk ; Šteffan, Pavel (referee) ; Fujcik, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of realization of mathematical operations in digital circuits with a focus on FPGA and ASIC architectures. The attention is focused to algorithms for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, further to algorithms for computing trigonometric functions. Chosen algorithms are described in VHDL language, synthesized, and they are compared in terms of acquired information about computing time and area which is required for its realization. In the final part of the thesis the possibility of implementation these algorithms is discussed.
Extension interfaces for FPGA developent board
Čáslavský, František ; Pavlík, Michal (referee) ; Bohrn, Marek (advisor)
This work deals with design of expansion modules for development kit Spartan-3 Starter kit. The objective of the work is to design modules with audio input and output and modules with video input and output. This work consists of exploring possibilities of connecting the modules, designing the modules, choosing suitable components for production of the modules, manufacturing prototypes, creating of software and user manuals. These modules will be utilized in lessons and will contribute to the possibility of exploring the VHDL programming language in greater depth.
Embedded System Based on Atmel ARM
Oravec, Jakub ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with design of simple embedded system based on Atmel ARM. There are Atmel's products covering this market segment reviewed in the first part, including the description of a couple of devices. The second part is focused on the aim specification, selection of components, their interconnection, power-supply requirements, price considerations and the design itself. The next chapter describes testing and application of the platform. The conclusion presents the current state of the project and deals with the successive progress.
