Schopenhauer and Nietzsche about human
Suchý, Radek ; Novák, Aleš (advisor) ; Chavalka, Jakub (referee)
Dissertation: Schopenhauer and Nietzsche about human Autor: Radek Suchý Annotation In my dissertation I endeavour to show the way how the 19th century german philosophers Schopenhauer and Nietzsche reflected various interesting issues that are significantly adherent to the human life. In so doing I try to place their respective views in such a mutual perspective so that both their characteristic uniqueness and peculiarity and their eventual affinity and contiguity would arise as clearly as possible. In the conclusion then I endeavour to show on the example of Schopenhauer what it can mean and imply if the man philosophizes about the man.
Good in the philosophy of Plato and Aristotle
TOMÁŠKOVÁ, Kateřina
The present thesis deals with the question of goodness in ethical thinking of Plato and Aristotle. The work aims to answer two research questions: How did Plato and Aristotle perceive the essence of goodness in human life? What are we supposed to do in order to accomplish human well-being? The first chapter contains a brief summary of ethical ideas of both philosophers. In the following chapters their concepts of areté, soul and goodness are analysed and compared. The comparison supports the fact that both Plato and Aristotle basically agreed on the essence of human goodness. They consider it the sole criterion of human well-being, both of them connect it with moral values and argue that it can be only achived through life in accordance with the virtues. On the other hand, Plato and Aristotle differ from each other in the way how can be such human goodness and well-being achieved. Aristotle's views based on the ethical issues, however, can not be perceived as totally different from those of Plato, but rather as a further elaboration and supplement of his ideas and opinions.
Thermal baths Yverdon, five senses in architecture
Šešulková, Miroslava ; Uřídilová, Marcela (referee) ; Koleček, Ivan (advisor)
The design of my proposal was deeply influenced by the typical character of spa pavillions in urban recreational parks. Neveertheless i combine such a character with contemporary more conceptual way of architecture. With maybe bigger scale, but having reasons for that. Into the center of park i place a house of baths, where all the activities typical for paths take action - massages, rehabilitation, swimming and wellness. Other parts of the project such as two new proposed buildings for a hotel have the same character of a pavillion in a park. Their interdependant relationships creates new story in a city.
