Security Analysis of Mifare Classic Smart Cards
Bobčík, Martin ; Hellebrandt, Lukáš (referee) ; Hujňák, Ondřej (advisor)
Goal of this bachelor thesis is a security study of MIFARE Classic contactless smart cards and risk analysis of their usage. There are described individual vunerabilities in the design and CRYPTO1 cipher of such cards. In this thesis is also experimented with Chameleon Mini device, which is used to perform two attacks and one cryptoanalysis of the cards. Namely, card emulation, relay attack, and analysis of insufficient randomness of cards' pseudorandom number generator. From those, only card emulation was fully successful.
Electronic ID Cards
Mravec, Roman ; Burda, Karel (referee) ; Hajný, Jan (advisor)
This master thesis deals with an implementation of Diffie-Hellman protocol on smart card which is based on MULTOS OS. Defines the smart cards based on MULTOS OS and their usage. Output of this thesis are applications for a smart card and for a client using Diffie-Hellman protocol for establishing of a secret key between two communication sides through unsecured communication channel.
Strong Cryptography on Smart Cards
Konečný, Jakub ; Burda, Karel (referee) ; Malina, Lukáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on cryptography with smart cards. It describes smart cards from hardware and software side. The thesis compares well known operating systems used on smart cards. Specified operating systems are widely analyzed. There is introduction to password authenticated key establishment protocols. PACE protocol is described in details together with implementation proposal. The implementation on the Basic card platform follows. In the end there is the time analysis of the implementation and further improvements are suggested.
Comparison of Cryptographic Libraries in Linux Environment
Bartoš, Milan ; Malinka, Kamil (referee) ; Barabas, Maroš (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with the comparison of the three cryptographic libraries used in the Linux environment. These are GnuTLS/nettle, NSS and OpenSSL. These are compared in terms of support for basic cryptographic functionality (symmetric and asymmetric ciphers, hash algorithms, SSL/TLS), working with hardware tokens and SSL/TLS. Libraries are also compared in terms of API design with a focus on stability and work with certificates and the possibility of more independent use of the library in a single process.
Security of Electronic Documentation in Medical Environment
Hauserová, Markéta ; Malinka, Kamil (referee) ; Barabas, Maroš (advisor)
Thesis is analyzing czech laws which are related to medical documentation. Describes the points  which are mandatory for information system, so the medical documentation can be stored electronically. Includes various algorithms for implementation of certain electronic signature and for  identification of person. This thesis deals with asymmetric cryptography, specifically RSA, DSA, and ECDSA. Describes the hash functions and their functions and their characteristics. Describes the principle of the certificate, ways of its obtaining, invalidation and their formats. Analyzes medical information system and suggests ways to create a program for signing medical records. Then based on that analysis, the program is implemented. At the conclusion of the work is discussed, if created program meets the criteria.
Modern Token-based and Knowledge-based Authentication
Ševčík, Michal ; Pust, Radim (referee) ; Malina, Lukáš (advisor)
This bacherol thesis deals with a modern authentization using an object and knowledge. It mostly focuses on authentization by means of USB token, Smart Java Cards, Smart .NET Cards and NFC technology and their subsequent use in the authentization in a local network.
The use of smart-cards in modern cryptography
Kočíř, Michal ; Malina, Lukáš (referee) ; Hajný, Jan (advisor)
This thesis discusses the general use of smart cards in MULTOS in cryptographic applications. At first is described two types of authentication - the authentication by the subject with focusing on authenticators and the authentication by the knowledge. Furthermore there is the description of the anonymous authentication and attribute authentization. This is followed by a description of smart cards with a focus on MULTOS cards. There is also performed analysis of programmable smart cards .NET, JavaCard and MULTOS. Practical part is focused on the implementation of an authentication scheme, which is being developed at FEEC. The communication of authentication protocol is between the MULTOS card and reader connected to a PC. The protocol is composed of cryptographic functions such as random number generation, hash function, modular exponentiation, modular multiplication and difference of large numbers. It was also implemented the measurement of specific applications.
Electronic geocaching
Průcha, Jan ; Strašil, Ivo (referee) ; Burda, Karel (advisor)
The master’s thesis is focusing on electronization of worldwide known game geocaching. It contains introduction to classic geocashing, analysis of current status and outline of possible solution. The design of electronization is based on smart card Gemalto. Very important part of the thesis is cryptographic security, therefore there is explanation of symetric and asymetric cryptography. The digital signature of transmitted message is realized by RSA algorithm, which is supported by the Gemalto smart card. Due to future expandability, it is appropriate to use general protocol. For this reason was chosen the ACP protocol which the supervisor of thesis adviced. In the following part, there is introduction to smart cards, their types and detailed description of Gemalto smart card. In the chapter 7 starts the solution of this issue and there are described the programmed apps.
Design of security infrastructure for electronic archive
Doležel, Radek ; Lattenberg, Ivo (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with design of security infrastructure for electronic archive. In theoretical part is disscus about technical resources which are based on security services and protocols and methods which are used for protection. On basics of theoretical part is designed model of security infrastructure and it is built in laboratory. Model of security infrastructure is based on Open Source Software and as safety storages for private user authentication data are used cryptographic USB tokens. This master's thesis includes design and construction of real infrastructure of secured electronic archive. In each part of master's thesis is put main emphases on security and clear explanation from the beginning of desing of model of security infrastructure for electronic archive to finish of construction.
New physical attacks and security of smart-card
Hrubý, Jaroslav
Power analysis is a successful cryptonalytic technique which extracts secret inforamtion from smart-card by analysing the power consumed during the execution of their internal programs. These attacks are particularly dangerous in financial applications in which users their smart-cards into teller machines which are owned and operated by potentially dishonest entities.
