Residential complex Brno - Reckovice
Macečková, Eliška ; Havlík, Václav (referee) ; Herzan, Radovan (advisor)
The area is located in the north part of Brno (Řečkovice a Mokrá Hora) and is surrounded by a housing estate. To the south of this area is a complex of former barracks. In our project we propose to use the area as a residential district with public amenities. Sports ground and the park are included. Currently there are terraced houses and separated family houses. We especially use low-floor blocks of houses with no more than four floors. Orientation of the blocks corresponds with the fact that this area is on the north slope. Family houses with gardens are situated on the east side of the area. The area is accessible from the Žilkova street (on the east) and from the Terezy Novákové street (on the west) – buildings on this street make a noise barrier. The square of our area is next to this street and represents a public place with public amenities (for example a retirement house and a school of art), underground car park and a pedestrian precint leading to the park. A tram stop is nearby. Sports ground and the park are situated in the north part of the area. In the central part we find the kindergarten. Underground car parks for the residents are under the blocks and its courtyards.

The premises are divided into three zones and each zone has its own air handling unit. Heating is provided by two condensing gas boilers and the whole building is heated by radiators. An assessment was made for the design of photovoltaic panels. In the third part, an assessment and research of sources for heating and hot water was prepared.

The purpose of former canteen will be left as it this, although it is meant to be enhanced by adding cafeteria with roof garden. In the given context, an architectural design was elaborated while using former structures and layout but with new inner structure. The value of a nurse in perspektive of seniors who are living in a senior house and their family members.
ZEMANOVÁ, Markéta
There is no mandatory presence of nurses in a retirement house that would be estrablished by legislation. The care of seniors has its specifics because many diseases are passing diversely and atypically in older age than in younger age. The mandatory presence of nurses in the retirement house is very important just for this reason. There are three goals in this bachelor thesis. The first one focuses on what type of care is expected by clients of the retirement house. The second one is to map the expectations of family members of the clients of the retirement house about care offered by nurses. The third one is to find out how important is the constant presence of the nurses for clients and their family members. In response to these goals there were established three questions: What kind of care is expected by clients from the nurses? What ideas do the family members have about the care provided by nurses? How important is the constant presence of nurses for seniors in the retirement house and their members. The empirical part of this bachelor thesis was processed by methods of quality research which was completed by a semi-structured interview. The interviews were divided into three parts - the new clients of the retirement house and the reasons of comming there, the nursing care provided in the retirement house and the presence of nurses there. The audio interviews were converted into a written form and processed by an open coding method - paper-pen. The research file was made by 7 clients who are permanently living in the retirement house and their 7 family members. The results of this reserch investigation are processed into 3 categories and then they are dividend into some other subcategories. The first one dealed with the reasons of comming the new clients into the retirement house, the awareness of the provided care and the health condition of clients. The second one was focused on providing nursing care, primarily the imagination of it and the satisfaction, on expertise of the care and last but not least on provision of acute care by nurses. The third category was related to nurses and their presence in the retirement house, the number of nurses during night shifts, their workload and the responsibility of their work. Based on the found information we can say that clients of retirement houses and their families consider the mandatory presence of nurses to be important and needed. The bachelor theseis was written to show the necessary presence of nurses in the retirement house from the perspective of clients living there and their family members.
The Ability to the Adaptability of Seniors in Retirement House
KÁCOVÁ, Kateřina
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the ability of the elderly to adapt in a home for the elderly. The goal of this thesis is to map factors that affect the adaptation of the elderly in a home for the elderly. The part of this thesis that focuses on theory describes the life period of being old, ways of preparing one for getting old, the process of getting old and changes that accompany this process. Another topic of the theory-focused part are different forms of care taking of the elderly - this thesis looks into both taking care of the elderly at home as well as into institutionalized care. Furthermore, this thesis describes selected social services that both the elderly and the families taking care of the elderly can take advantage of. The last chapter of the theoretical part concentrates on adaptation, the process of adaptation and adaptation of the elderly in residential facilities, as well as maladaptation. Empirical part of this work brings focus to research and obtaining answers to the main question of this research: What factors affect successful adaptation of the elderly in a home for the elderly? Four subquestions were selected to answer this main research question. Qualitative research strategy was chosen for this research and semi-structured type of interview was used as a form of data collection. Method of clustering was used for data results evaluation. Operationalization of the concepts was constructed from the research subquestions. The research was conducted on a set of six respondents 5 women and one male, all between the ages of 75 and 88, who live in the Home for Elderly in Písek. This set was selected based on intentional selection at that particular institute. The research showed that previous familiarity with the facility and the workers is very important for the adaptation of the elderly. Also, a very important factor is the family of the elderly thanks to their support, the elderly feels much safer and calmer in the new environment. Attempt to adjust to the person's habits, rituals and way of life in general is no less important for the success of the adaptation. This can be achieved, for example, by allowing to furnish one's room using their own favorite furniture and other objects.
