Radiology in České Budějovice - history and present
ŠUSTEK, Jan
The bachelor thesis on "Radiology in České Budějovice - history and present" in the introductory chapters deals with the most important historical events in the field of radiology. It describes the discovery of X-rays, the development of digitalization, the development of radiodiagnostic methods from skiagraphy to magnetic resonance. The next part of the thesis summarizes and describes the establishment and development of the Hospital České Budějovice a.s. up to its present form. From the available information, the development of the radiology department is presented not only in the hospital itself, but also in three polyclinics in České Budějovice. The aim of the thesis is to find out which radiodiagnostic method is most used and whether the improvement of newer methods has an influence on the number of X-rays performed. This survey is based on the number of examinations from 2001, 2011 and 2021.
HVAC of part of the hospital department
Pěnčíková, Monika ; Rubina, Aleš (referee) ; Hirš, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the comprehensive design of a new workplace with instrumentation, and thus also the technical equipment of part of this hospital department. It will be modernized and equipped with new, more efficient devices. The construction work will take place within the interior of the building, with the exception of the replacement of windows and the installation of an HVAC unit on the roof. The affected spaces are marked in the drawing section and contain a SPECT x-ray examination room, a control room from where employees control the necessary equipment, an entrance hall, three patient changing rooms, a toilet or a patient background and a secondary examination room. The area in question is divided into two functional units. The theoretical part is devoted to hospitals, their definitions and divisions. Subsequently, I deal with radiology and the necessary technical background for the SPECT area in question.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on work in radiology departments in selected hospitals in the Czech Republic
DOBIÁŠOVÁ, Marcela
In March 2020, the first patients with the disease COVID-19 began to appear in the Czech Republic, therefore measures had to be taken to protect both hospital workers and patients. Hospitals also had to respond to this situation,as health care providers. With the increasing incidence of the epidemic, covid units were created in hospitals, often at the expense of regular beds, but sometimes even entire departments. These restrictions also affected work in the radiology departments, where there were restrictions on planned examinations. The aim of the thesis was to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on work in radiology departments and at the same time to analyze and structure examinations in radiology departments in the period from March 2019 to February 2021 in selected hospitals. In the theoretical part of the thesis, terms from the radiology department are defined, especially examination methods, contrast agents are described and divided, as well as their side effects. The next part is devoted to the principles of radiation protection, its use in the healthcare sector, the protection of radiological workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, the last chapter of the theoretical part presents the findings so far about the causative agent of the disease COVID-19, as well as the use of protective equipment. The research part introduces the results of a questionnaire survey among 64 respondents, describes what measures the hospital took to protect staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. The provided data on the number and structure of examinations from individual hospitals was evaluated and analyzed. 86 % of respondents answered that the COVID-19 pandemic affected the number and structure of examinations.
Práce s obrazovým archivačním systémem (PACS)
JÍROVEC, Čeněk
The bachelor thesis deals with the importance of the role of archival image systems in healthcare and their use in practice. The theoretical part describes the general operations and structure of these systems. It deals with the distribution, security, flexibility, user service, advantages and disadvantages of individual solutions. The aim of the practical part was to evaluate the success of the implementation of a particular system for the distribution of medical image data in the Czech Republic by statistical descriptive and mathematical analysis. The dominant system for image data distribution is the ePACS system. I was provided the data for the statistical survey by ICZ a.s. which manages the system. The statistical features monitored were the numbers of image studies and the amount of data transferred by the system over time. The established hypotheses were verified by non-parametric testing, linear regression and correlation analysis. The results of the survey were expressed in graphs and tables for greater clarity. The benefit of the bachelor's thesis is to map the current state of healthcare digitization for the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and ICZ a.s., which participated in the creation and operation of the ePACS system. The digitization of Czech healthcare was evaluated in the discussion and conclusion of the thesis.
Blended learning for teaching radiology subjects
PELIKÁN, Jiří
The objective of my bachelor's thesis on Blended learning for teaching Radiology subjects, was to create a clear list of basic skiagraphic projections in radiodiagnostics, written instructions added to them, photographic documentation for easier understanding of the projection and teaching program in the Moodle ZSF JU environment. In the theoretical part of the work I dealt with the origin of X-rays, its properties and possibilities of use. I also mentioned the risks of its use, the need for proper radiation protection, and I analyzed the parts of the X-ray machine and the systems used in skiagraphy. In the practical part I created a list of standardly used skiagraphic projections. Using professional scripts, instructions, standards and experience of radiological staff of the Kyjov Hospital, I subsequently created a text manual for them, supplemented by photographic documentation of individual projections on a model. Subsequently, I created a tutorial in the Moodle ZSF JU environment, supplemented by a database of exam questions.
Prof. Rudolf Jedlička (1869-1926) and the medical and social institutions bound up with his activities
Černá, Marcela ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Rákosník, Jakub (referee)
Rudolf Jedlička belongs to the most important Czech doctors of the beginning of the 20th century. After finishing his studies he engaged, under the influence of his favourite professor Karel Maydl, in surgery. Nevertheless he was very soon interested in X-ray science and radiology - the science branches, which were just newly being formed, and whose pioneer in the central Europe he became. Jedlička was often consulted as a diagnostic and operator thanks to his many-sided medical skills. He connected his life with the Faculty of Medicine of the Czech Charles-Ferdinand University, respectively Charles University, where he was engaged as an educationalist - creator of so called Jedlička school, which became bearer of his medical heritage. He reached the top of his career in 1921, when he was designated as regular professor of surgery and simultaneously head of the II. Clinic of Surgery. Rudolf Jedlička did not limit his activities only to medical theory and practice, but he was also initiator and organizer of many medical and social projects, the most important of which was the foundation of Prague sanatorium and neighbouring Jedlička foundation. Prague sanatorium was opened in May 1914 as a general hospital covering all specializations except of infectious and mental illnesses. The sanatorium arrived...

Differentiation of radiological assistants in particular branches (X-ray, Nuclear medicine, Radiotherapy)
PROKOPOVÁ, Šárka
Bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is about the details of the work of the departments, which include x-ray, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy. The entire work is supplemented by my own photographs, as well as photographs from public information sources. There is also a brief history of radiology. I also stated the most important personalities of this scope and their inventions. Next, I put in the work tables and charts from the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic and compared them with my results. In the practical section, I focused on creating questionnaires for doctors and radiology assistants. These questionnaires were designed for employees of branches RTG, NUM and RTO. For physicians was prepared 12 questions and for radiological assistants 14 questions. Respondents answered in the form of a check mark one or more responses. There are also questions, where the answer must be indicated in written form. Then were the collected results sorted into the different categories according to the scope. Then I transferred the resulting data in a graphical form. At the end of the practical part I commented on the data and added my own opinions and insights. The survey was carried out in the form of personally or electronic distributing the questionnaires to individual hospitals throughout the Czech Republic. The results were then delivered to me by a mail or I had to go for them into concrete hospitals personally. It depended on the willingness of a particular hospital. The work will be used for educational purposes and to raise awareness among university students and professional public.
