Media reflection of minister Alois Rašín and his assassination in contemporary daily newspapers

This masters disertation is focused on an important Czech politician Alois Rašín and his reflection in the period daily newspapers. The researched period is from October 1922 to February 1923. Three important events related to Rašín happened in that period - his second appointment as the minister of finances and his assassination. In the first chapter I write about Rašín as a person and politician. In the second chapter I focus on the political situation during the First republic and Rašín's uneasy relations to others. The third chapter is the research I do using the period daily newspapers. I epitomize my findings in the summary.
Monetary Reform 1919 in Czechoslovakia

This thesis will focused on the monetary reform in 1919 in Czechoslovakia. The first part of the thesis describes the creation of an independent Czechoslovakia republic, Austro-Hungarian crown and analysing Alois Rašín's personality so as his economical view. The main part emphasises the preparation and implementation of the monetary reform and how the targets were accomplished. As follows the study concentrates on the concept of monetary policy which pursues the monetary reform that is provided by Rašín's influence and character. After unsuccessful monetary restriction, crown was strengthen via foreign currency exchange and this led to reach Alois Rašín's monetary concept of deflation policy. Not only the study looks into the monetary reform itself but also analyses monetary policy associated with gaining of independency and appreciation of Czechoslovakian currency. The conclusion sums up the monetary reform and shows that the reform itself as the tool of deflation policy didn't succeed and thus the appreciation of the currency through foreign currency had positive but also negative impact on the whole economy.
The influence of Alois Rasin and Karel Englis on monetary politics till 1929

This work is focused on the currency reform in the year of 1919. The theoretical part presents opinions and concepts of Alois Rasin and Karel Englis in the field of currency politics. Starting from the introduction of the default economic and social situation before the establishment of the self-governing Czechoslovak state, the text aims on an analysis of grounds, a course of development and impacts of the currency reform. Next part investigates the influence of currency measurements on the realtime economics of the country. The essential point of the research is following: Has the deflation policy of A. Rasin fullfilled one of its main targets, i.e. to strengthen the exchange rate of the Czechoslovak Crown? Detailed empirical testing has been performed on this initial hypothesis, resulting in positive verification of this statement. Thanks to the artificial stimulation caused by deflation policy leading to increased currency value, external competitiveness of the Czechoslovak Crown really grew up, though at the significant costs of domestic economy suppression. As the conclusion, the description of particular impacts of A. Rasín's and K. Englis's currency policy applied on real economic processes is provided.
Alois Rašín influence on monetary policy of Czechoslovakia

This thesis maps the environment that was in the territory of the Czech and Slovak countries during the period of Austro -- Hungarian Empire, and then illustrates the post -- war consequences and starting conditions of the new state, the Czechoslovakia. Thesis explains the initial moments of the state and its economic situation. There is characterized Banking Bureau of the Ministry of Finance and the course of monetary separation. The actual chapter is devoted to personage Alois Rašín and his other achievements in the management of the economy.
Monetary policy of Czechoslovakia in the years 1918-1926

The objective of the thesis is monetary development in Czechoslovakia from 1918 till the establishment of Národní banka československá. The first part describes in detail the circumstances of the creation of Czechoslovakia as well as its economic starting points and difficulties of newly-established state. The second part focuses on monetary development between 1919 and 1926. Monetary reforms carried out in 1919 are analyzed here together with the role of Bankovní úřad which was the predecessor of Central Bank. I also discuss positive and negative aspects of deflationary policy which was the monetary conception of the state till 1925. The circumstances leading to the creation of Central Bank of Czechoslovakia as well as its influence on monetary conditions of that period are treated in the last chapter.
Rašín´s monetary reform as a factor of economic stabilization of Czechoslovakia

This study represents monetary reform proposed by Dr. Alois Rašín and realized in Czechoslovakia in 1919. Emphases will be put before on occasion analysis, process of the reform and its consequences. The attention will be paid to situation after the beginning Czechoslovakia and also significant events in Alois Rašín's life. This thesis is trying to find answers following questions: From what reason was reform realized? Had his conception any opponents? How was this reform substantialized? Study evaluates impact of this realization.
