The bachelor work Course and conclusion of II. World War in Žabovřesky and surrounding areas focus itself on events of the biggest conflict of history and their impact on few villages in the southern Bohemia. Villages in this area experienced a lot of changes through the course of war. Some changes were for the better, most for the worse. First, after Germans came, the villages` economy grep, though it was only short-lived. In the following the villages were influenced unpropitiously by deteriorating situation in Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. In Žabovřesky there was the German military training, some changes in local government occured and the bells were taken from the villages. In 1942 eviction of local farmers took place and imigrant from Dolomits came instead of the farmers. There was also police raid in watermill in Žabovřesky, which led to imprisonment of few people and some of them died in prison. The end of the war is jotted by retreat of German soldiers, but also by joy of liberation. Soviet and American troops come to villages and they get into concurrence with local population. Gradually German immigrants, American troops and soldiers of Red Army leave. Life gets back to normal state afterwards. The work is based upon records in local chronicles a and above all upon testimonies of witnesses about these events. Events are described from their point of view for the most part.

Jews in the Protectorat and attempts of their rescure

This thesis is about modern Jewish history in the territory of Czechoslovakia, specifically the history of 2WW. It maps the fate of Jews under the new circumstances that had prevailed right after the declaration of the Protectorat of Bohemia and of Moravia, on the 15th of March, 1939. In keeping with those changes according to the new political system that was forcibly implemented, new and new anti-Jewish regulations were published with a view of total displacement of Jews from society and their total liquidation in compliance with Hitler's "final solution". It emphasizes some attempts to save Jews not only by "ordinary non-aryan people", but also by the Jewish resistance and last but not least by the government in exile. This work attempts to explain what led rescuers to their actions and their motivations, including some known rescuers, such as Nicholas Winton and Přemysl Pitter.

Signal - the propaganda of Wehrmacht in occupied Europe and the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia 1940-1945

Presented bachelor thesis is an analysis of one of the important printed nazi-propaganda matter from the era of World War II - the Signal magazine. This thesis aims to analyse mostly the period of time between April 1940 and April 1945, when the editorial office of the magazine was in service. According to the distribution in the whole Europe and the fact, that the magazine was produced until the very end of the war, the author wants to make a comparison of the magazines content, which should not only reside in the research of the text content, which was changing strongly during the war, but also in analysing the different acceptance and character in occupied and neutral countries. The interest will be focused on the picture of war presented to the civilian population in particular European countries. Of countries, where the Signal magazine was distributed to, is a special accent given to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Perception of Czechoslovakian cinematography by German film periodicals between 1933-1945

Diploma thesis "Perception of Czechoslovakian cinematography by German film periodicals between 1933 - 1945" deals with the Czech film industry as it was received by German specialized press with an emphasis on the recognition of changes, that took place after the formation of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The period is divided into two stages. The first, 1933 to March 15, 1939 and the second, March 16, 1939 to May 1945, when the end of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was proclaimed. Historical events determined the path of Czech cinematography and later protectoral cinematography (Slovak cinematography was not developed at the time). These events are specified in the thesis as well as the Czech film industry in terms of local and foreign production, distribution, film - makers and organizations. A lot of news from Czech lands was published in the German press due to close connections between Czech and German cinematography which was only further interconnected after the formation of the Protectorate. The analytical portion comprises a historical comparison of texts from daily Der Film - Kurier, weekly Der Film and monthly Der deutsche Film. Reflection on Jewish Themes Protectorate in literature

This bachelor's thesis aims to compare different approaches of Jewish minority to racial discrimination in beautiful literature of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Based on a comparison of four selected titles from the Czech fiction, I will discuss how the Jews stand for placing racial policy into practice in the selected works, how the main characters coped with persecutions, and what was their internal experience of wartime events. The bachelor thesis will be based on a specified primary literature, which was intentionally chosen to clearly illustrate the different attitudes of the Jews. I will focus even on interfaces and on what the main characters connects in the selected titles. Also, I want to emphasize how they differ and how each one of them puts up differently and in a unique way with their difficult situation.

The biographical study of Jiří Mucha and his journlistic work in pre-war, war and post-war years

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the life and work of writer and journalist Jiří Mucha in selected years from 1937 to 1948 . This period is further divided into three phases, the pre- war (1937-1939), war (1939-1945) and postwar (1947-1948) period. For each era are allocated three most important periodicals which formed the strongest pillar of Mucha's work. These are the Lidové noviny, magazine The Czechoslovak and Svobodné noviny. The thesis is also focused on Mucha's other publications from 1929 to his death in 1991. Each chapter contains information on the socio-historical situation, the status of the media at the time and also discusses specifics of Mucha's contributions to the above mentioned publications. The aim of this thesis is to map Mucha's benefit especially in the field of journalism and also to bring his personality closer. What is more, another aim is to compare the various creative periods by method of comparative analysis or what impact his writing had on the socio-historical events. The thesis would also like to detect the difference between individual articles.

Two 1939 Soviet - German Pacts and Their Reflection in the Press of the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia

Two 1939 Soviet-German Pacts and Their Reflection in the Press of the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the reflection of the Soviet-German relations in the Czech legal press of the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia at the time of the outbreak of the Second World War when the Ribbentrop-Molotov non-aggression pact (23 August 1939) and of the treaty of borders and friendship (27 September 1939) transformed the character of the international relations in the Central and Eastern Europe. At first, the text concentrates on analysis of the contemporaneous circumstances both in terms of international relations in Europe and in terms of internal domestic policies in the protectorate. In the following part, the author discusses the protectorate press response to the two German-Soviet treaties as well as the press attitudes to a number of other related issues such as the Soviet-Japanese conflict in Mongolia. The thesis is based on research of a series of Czech protectorate dailies, namely A- Zet, České slovo, Národní práce, Venkov a Vlajka. However, it also takes into account two illegal Czech periodicals, the magazine V boj and the Communist illegal newspaper Rudé právo.

Conception of Jew in the Czech film during the Second Republic and the Protectorate

The thesis "Conception of Jew in the Czech film during the Second Republic and the Protectorate" deals with ways of displaying characters of Jewish figures in the film in the period. It deals with Czech films made between the years 1939-1945, which appears Jewish character, then their analysis and evaluation of whether the film antisemitic sting occurred or not. The work focuses primarily on Czech film production, but also mentions characteristically related films made in Nazi Germany.
