Pisárky boating center
Filatova, Natalia ; Obrtlík, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor's thesis is the design adaptation of the area of the former water treatment plant in the Pisárky district of Brno for the creation of a new building for a water sports center, utilizing existing structures of settling tanks, and adjacent areas to establish a water sports center. The center's design also aligns with studies for the modification of the Svratka River channel and the creation of a water canal. The architectural concept aims to connect the exterior with the interior. The mass solution is derived from several key points. Firstly, the site is bordered by Pisárecká Street to the south and Žabovřeská Street to the east, intersecting at an overpass of a multilevel interchange. This creates a noisy space, making it essential to establish a "barrier" to create a private and quiet area for relaxation with a view of the river and Pisárky Hill. The sports center building echoes the shape of the streets, with the highest point of the building located at the overpass, and the roof descending along both streets. On these two facades with minimal glass surfaces, the river-facing facades connect to the surrounding nature with glass elements. Secondly, it was necessary to respect the facilities for water sports enthusiasts, situated closest to the river for easy access. Therefore, the water sports center is located several meters lower than the sports center building and is embedded into the terrain along Žabovřeská Street. Additionally, a waterfront area along the river and canal will be designed, connected by descending sidewalks to Pisárecká and Žabovřeská Streets. The shape of the building and the waterfront respects the form of the river and the water canal. This center will serve members of the water sports club and residents of all age groups.
Aquatic centre
Kudelová, Aneta ; Řehák, Filip (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis, entitled Aquatic centre, deals with the design of a three-story building for water sports activities. The site of the proposed building is located in the city district of Brno - Pisárky on the land of the former wastewater treatment plant, on whose existing reinforced concrete structure it is also designed. The building consists of one underground and two above-ground floors. The building includes a pool hall with a 50-meter swimming pool, a whirlpool, a non-swimming pool and a children's pool. A wellness center with a small fitness facility is planned on the second floor. There are eight saunas in the wellness area, two of which are steam, three whirlpools and two cooling pools. Two of these hot tubs and one cooling pool are designed in the spaces of the outdoor terrace. These facilities are connected by a central cloakroom. The building also includes spaces for the clubhouse of the rowing club and a storage room for canoes. The structure of the building is divided into two parts: a wooden structure made of slatted beams and columns for the pool hall and a reinforced concrete skeleton structure with perimeter reinforced concrete walls for the rest of the building. The roof is an L-shaped counter with a vegetation layer. In the middle of the building there is an outdoor atrium, also with a vegetation layer. Most of the building, apart from the glass facades, is covered by an external metal facade with added vegetation.
Favorit Brno / cycling stadium - bicross track / architectural study - design / stage 2021/22
Salajová, Barbara ; Hrabec, Josef (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis was preceded by the course NGA056 Specialized studio on the topic Architectural study of the cycling stadium of the Favorit Brno sports organization. The result of this pre-diploma project was the evaluation of the current condition of the velodrome and the creation of an option for its possible modification or demolition. The diploma thesis is a continuation of the previous project and in the form of a study it elaborates a proposal for a new building of the cycling stadium of the Favorit Brno sports organization. The newly designed velodrome responds to the current requirements of track cycling, such as the length of the track (250 m), the track material, the roofing of the building, and it also takes care to meet all the needs of athletes and visitors. The building is situated on the site of the original velodrome in Brno-Pisárky.
The Multifunctional building Hlinky
Jarmerová, Eliška ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Sedláková, Markéta (advisor)
This bachelor thesis presents a design of a multifunctional buiding in Brno – Pisárky. The building should be located in a gap site in the street Hlinky. The plot is situated at the foothill of Žlutý kopec near the premises of Brno Exhibition Centre. The southern part of the plot includes the area of terraced houses. The street is 215m above sea level. This project designs a completion of the street housing development with a fitting construction of a convenient size and type of façade. The project takes into account a non-existing and formerly pulled-down 19th-century object of value concerned by heritage conservation. The former building was significant for its indentation in the line of the adjacent buildings. In the design I try to point out at this element applied for the whole height of the building. The building facade division follows the elements applied for the other objects in the surroundings of the lot. Based on the former analysis, the design utilizes a high potential of the place which had not been met before, mainly its easy centre and transport accessibility, south-facing slope, high density of population in the area of the exhibition centre as well as as university hostels. This multifunctional building is designed to function in three ways – as an office, a living place and a shop with a buffet providing cooked meals. The design preserves and recultivates a garden which will function as an orchard with furniture. The first floor of the object is designed as a reinforced concrete frame which is filled with a wall of cut vertically perforated brick blocks with mineral wool insulation and completed with ventilated façade made of facing bricks. The building has six aboveground floors and one underground floor. The height of the designed building overtops the neighbouring buildings, which is hidden due to the division of the building facade into smaller areas whose function is to achieve better setting of the mass of the building into the frontage.
Brno City Hospital
Lebedev, Ilya ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is the architectural design of the city hospital in Brno. The work is based on a previously developed studio project from the winter semester. The subject of studio project was the design of an urban and transport concept for the selected area. The selected site is located in the wider city center on the right bank of the Svratka river in the westernmost part of the Brno-střed district in the cadastral area of Pisárky. The whole land is owned by the city. It has a markedly sloping terrain with difficult foundation conditions due to the landslide. Although it is close to the river, there is no risk of floods of any kind. The main idea of the design is a connection of the new hospital complex with the existing city structure, Anthropos park and especially the surrounding nature. The chosen shape is inspired and based on the outline of the blue star of life. It is a combination of monoblock and pavilion type, which offers flexibility, facilitates orientation and has the potential for organic growth for future development. The building is conveniently oriented, opening towards the exhibition center and the historic part of the city. From the western and southern part it is surrounded by forest, from the eastern by tree alley and the river Svratka, from the northern part by Anthropos park. The construction of the hospital should make the site more attractive. The accompanying program will include landscaping, a new café by the retention lake, sports activities, a pavilion for medicine and nature, which together with the Anthropos pavilion will complement the educational activities in the area. The aim of the design was to create a quality environment for patients and staff in a unique location on the waterfront and to provide maximum connection with the surrounding nature.

It is not like lazy English seaside resorts, it´s not Austrian headwaters, not pleasing glossy aqua at all. "Urban Spa" is daily part of life of every active person. It´s offering regeneration of body and soul, habituating people to doing regular exercises and live a healthy life, creating intimate atmosphere for informal business meetings and for natural development of personal relationships.
